The armor he wore during the clone wars was just the pauldrons, bracers, and boots from clone armor because he was very empathetic and wanted to show the clones that he cared about them and didn't think of them as disposable soldiers. I agree in that I don't think it ever actually did anything for him
I think @LordGingivitus66's point was that armor generally is about as useful as a layer of wet paper towels in the Star Wars universe. Imperial stormtroopers might as well have been wearing papier mache tutus in most battles as their "full body armor." 🤣

I really like the build. Making a Psi Warrior is hard. It feels like you made good Tactical decisions for the theme you were going for and it should stay reasonably playable.
I forgot to mention Kensei, but I did look into that too. We’re not making unarmed attacks with our action and ranged attacks are uncivilized. So had to look elsewhere.
I would take Kensei rather than Open Hand. While the Open Hand abilities are stronger, I think the Agile Parry is more in line with Obi-wan's defensive fighting style, personally. You can boost your AC into the stratosphere. 13 Mage Armor +5 Dex +2 Agile Parry. 20 every turn, 25 is using Shield, 22 if using Arcane Deflection. And you can still Dodge as a bonus action! That feels like Obi-wan to me.
Hey Mike thanks for creating these build vids. These are really well thought out. I like to request a Merlin build. The classic mythology Merlin, not the crappy tv series version. Deities & Demigods was a 2e source book that depicts Merlin as a half demon/half human Wizard 17 / Druid 14. I'd love to see your take on this classic mythological spellcaster based upon the Arthurian legend.
So I'd planned to play a Obi Wan character. So I set out for build ideas. Damn if you didn't deliver! I plan on playing this in Course of Strahd. So wish me luck lol
Yeah definitely whittle down the builds to fit your desired build/play style/ power level. My generic “Jedi” build actually looks quite a bit different from either this or Luke. The basics are the same though.
It might be better to start fighter for the con save, weapon profs, and extra HP. Fighters start with 10+ con vs wizards 6+ con which is a bigger difference than 6 + 6 (avg of fighter). It’d be 10 vs 6 hp (with 10 con), then 14 vs 12 hp.
Agree in 95%+ of builds. But there are so few spells/abilities to concentrate on with this build, that the wisdom proficiency is a stronger get than the con proficiency. I also prefer the skill proficiencies to fighter. HP + weapon prof are def good arguments to start fighter. I thought about it for a long time, but in the end wizard won out for me, for the reasons stated. If suggestion was a concentration spell, I would have went fighter 1.
Huzzah for my 2nd favorite Jedi (Qui-Gon is 1)! Whenever you do get around to Anakin/Vader, would you be willing to consider splitting that into two different builds? Vader’s fighting style and abilities are so different from Anakin’s.
Potentially, yeah. If these builds don't start getting a bump on youtube though, IDK how many more there will be :( The critical role stuff gets 10x the views and take 1/4 the work. Such a bummer because I love making these.

Cool build. Thou i radicaly disagree with fighting style, and most important - wizard subclass. FS - is dueling (blind sight is cool, but its possible to add it after with feat). And DEFINITELY Bladesinger instead of warmage - it us sn ideal combination. Anyway - thanks for video)
I think you said that at 1st level said they get 6 spells. However, you can only prepare 4. Which ones would you prepare and which ones do you leave in reserve?
Space wizard swordsmen who use a crystal to focus energy into a magic sword? Monk 2 into Star Druid 2, now that you have your crystal, activate that sword on the next level with a Bonus action from Way of the Astral Self. You're now have a character who is set up to do any Jedi stuff you'll ever need no matter how you build it. Need a blaster? How about Archer form? Most likely you'll be focusing on the Dragon form for the best Concentration ability in the game for a class with great concentration spells. Guardian of Nature is just gross with it. Combine it with a quarterstaff and Polearm Master + Crusher + Sentinel and be the best Ataru practitioner the Jedi have ever seen. I think the sweet spot is Monk 12 and Druid 8.
Psi warrior is too good to pass up. Nice ideas though. Interesting stuff for sure. Make sure you’re not trying to capture the “feel” of a character. The actual abilities need to be captured. All the spells listed in the video, all the fighting prowess, abilities like force jumps etc.
I love the build, but I don't see why you would take 1 level of monk early. Martial art as a bonus action is fine, but you need to be attacking with a monk weapon, which the sun blade isn't until you have dedicated weapon as a level 2 monk, no?, I guess if you don't have one, which is very possible, you could use a short sword so it works.
Bonus action unarmed attack. I’m assuming the sun blade counts as a short or long sword, since proficiency with either weapon works on a sun blade. If it is a short sword then it can count as a monk weapon. Now the text calls it a long sword so maybe that is incorrect. But it’s kind of a silly rule that a monk couldn’t use it as a monk weapon - since it’s just a hilt. But it’s also silly it’s not a light weapon, so there’s that :( If your DM rules it a strict longsword - def delay those monk levels or take 2 levels earlier.
Sorry to have to say this, but "Get a Sun Blade" is *NOT* valid character build advice. It's equivalent to saying, "Get a Hammer of Thunderbolts, Gauntlets of Ogre Power and a Belt of Storm Giant Strength," because you want to build Thor or, "Get a revolver, an auto pistol, a sawed-off shotgun and a Flame Tongue longsword" because you want to build Sandman Slim. Basing character builds on factors over which the player has zero control is a great way to end up with disappointed players ... and viewers. This is why most Jedi builds either include at least two levels of paladin or a spellcaster with Divine Favor, Elemental Weapon or some other way to add *some kind* of energy damage to attacks with a sword. Even adding enough druid levels to take the Flame Blade spell would be better than telling us, "Get a Sun Blade" when you don't even know if the DMs in question are willing to *ever* hand out such powerful magic items. I must say, even though this is the first Jedi build I've seen that actually uses what's obviously *the* Jedi subclass, I'm severely disappointed in the cavalier attitude about powerful magic items.
Someone didn’t watch my Thor build. Of course I’m going to recommend RAW magic weapons. It would be foolish not to do so. I should also say that the Sun Blade is given at a very low level in at least one of the primary campaigns by WotC. You can potentially get it prior to level 3. Not. That. Rare. I know it’s also in other campaigns. And finally, I’m saying “get a sun blade” tongue in cheek. That should have been obvious.
