I really hope I can play as a pirate republic, sounds like there's going to be a huge increase in piracy by event, so I wonder if the route will be letting control slip, or sponsoring privateers(or neither and its not playable)
I really hope all these different mechanics dont end up inadvertently making the game too easy. Eu4 ends up becoming really, really easy once you familiarize yourself with all of the mechanics, and so it gets really boring within 50-100 years of a campaign as a result, because by then, youve used all the mechanics to build up a stong nation with an army so large only a coalition of more than half of Europe could feesibly beat you. So I really hope Eu5 isn't the same way. I want to have to know at least most of the mechanics to be able to do half decent, I don't want to know all of the mechanics and end up getting bored in every single campaign by way of me using those mechanics in the normal, expected way to make myself stronger than the ai could ever come close to being.
That is why I play on very hard with a modifier mod that gives the ai twice the manpower and army capacity. While I get nothing. And I still managed to complete a world conquest. Maybe I am a masochist oof😅
