Build the Delorean - Issue 91 - Connecting the Frame to the Chassis 

Just finished Issue 91 and it was definitely the most difficult part of the build. The last screw would not go in and I finally had to clamp the model in order to complete the issue. In the end, it turned out well. I appreciate your videos Wayne; they are a great resource.

I just can't believe that it's been 20 years since the world was losing their freaking minds over Y2K!!! LOL HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

What a bastard of an issue this was to do. I had to use different screws to the ones provided for the underside of the car. Spent three hours trying to get the two halves together with the provided screws, but they just weren't long enough. Changed to my own and in about a minute had them all in securely. I think whichever distribution company dishes these out in Australasia possibly added the wrong screws for connecting the shell to the base.

I"m so nervous about this issue! At first I was glad you found it difficult as well, but then I thought "Oh god, if he thinks it"s difficult, what chance do I have?" Time to find out. Huge thank you Wayne for doing these great videos!

I’m also doing the ecto one build up as well i’m about halfway to where you’re at . Just barely putting the floor in with the carpet kit I got from Mike Lane

Just a comment for those watching. Eaglemoss just sent out " MANUAL TRANSMISSION " parts issues #16 and #23 here in the U.S. I should have mine in a few days. Lucky for me I am not doing any assembly on mine yet and thus will be able to change assembly order and replace the errant parts as need be. Thanks for all you do Wayne! Your build is starting to come together and look good!

After the failure of Eaglemoss and having to wait year and a half I've finally got to do this issue for myself ! Big thank you to you as I was able to do everything without a single issue and Lee twice working perfect! Big smile on my face ! Though I got to say I was shaking with nerves and anxiety till it was done !!!! Again big thank you !!!! You are amazing 👍

Hi all, my daughter and I finished part 91 just yesterday. was a bit of a beast, but all went well. Couple of points: check belts and wires are ALL clear of the joins. we used some masking tape to hold everything out of the way while we joined the two halves. Get a friend to help with this one, it saves a lot of grief. The only problem was also flat batteries. (took a minute to refresh) and then all lights came on except for the boot light. (I can live with that) the other problem was with the wiring at the front of the car. way back in the build we installed the wires on the wrong sides. Damn. the wires which supply the boot light and front time travel lights (the blue LEDs installed this time) are on the wrong sides. After a bit of rerouting, we managed to get them connected, but the wires for the front headlights aren't long enough to make the crossover. so re routed them out under the spare tyre well, and will make up some extensions to make the connection later.The body screws took some squeezing on the upper body and chassis to make the connection, but once started, they pull the two halves together nicely. looks like the holes were already threaded for once). Really enjoing the build and BIG Thanks to Wayne for sharing his build with the interweb!

Sorry to break this to you mate but the same happened to me & it was shorting out when I screwed it all together because it was too tight. I took screws out, loosened it off a bit & lights were fine again. I just need to try & put screws back in again now but from underneath without turning it upside down. Hope you sort it but I don't think it's the electronics.

Most of this issue went ok for me, I got the wires all connected fine but the main problem I had was joining the top & bottom of the car. I got about half of the screws in, but some of the centre ones wouldn't go in as the car doesn't seem to push together far enough. It's almost as if it could do with longer screws that reach as I had to push it down with some force and even then it just doesn't seem to fit together right. My mirrors are still on and the car looks ok from the outside, but some of the screw holes are just too far apart for the screw to make any contact

I know this is too late to mention as so many have already completed their build; but just in case: In terms of the rearview door mirror: I plan on using a small pill box cube and tape it over the mirror to protect it when tossing/turning the car.

Hi Wayne, I have just finished this nightmare of a issue. Thank you so much for your videos, they help a lot and have been watching you on this build from the start. Unfortunately my orange lights on the doors don't work or my flux capacitor or xmas tree don't light up :( I also had a issue with drivers seat belt not going in front of the bk panel? The number 2 switch on the panel doesn't work. this build is a pain at times but the worst thing has got to be getting it from eaglemoss lol.

14.20 ..Says be careful not to break the wing mirror when turning the car over....and goes ahead and breaks the wing mirror.. You hear the crunch 😂😀😂😀😂

Feel for you Wayne! Not looking forward to this issue. I have already put the body and interior together temporarily previously and had a power issue with some of the lights which was the EM board, Man did I sweat working out what i did wrong. Works OK now and hopefully will tomorrow when i complete issues 88-91.

Had real issues with this... Issue the body just won't sit properly on the chassis. I have a gap bit bigger than the one you have.. Also broken the wing mirror.. Rear view mirror.. And one of the front wheels have fallen off.. Nearly threw it at the wall.. This is after 3 hours of trying.. Everything inside the cab is clear so not sure if the problem..... Had an email from Eaglemoss after enquiering about missing issues. Told me issues 5 and 8 are back in stock and would be sent to me and i received only issue 8 this morning. Checked the eaglemoss website and Issue 5 is still out of stock. Good video when I get to the electrics of this i will be checking and testing everything during assembly

I ordered the after market power supply which should solve this problem according to Chole. Of course I have the benefit of your videos and have only completed up to issue 1-10. Also ordered and received the carpeting set. Xams tree and Flux is my next order. All shipped to us in U.S.

am I the only one who has issues with the cables coming out at the front being mirrored? I have the blue and white cable coming out on the opposite site as displayed and the same with the red and yellow? So basically the position of the cables is mirrored to what I see in the Magazine. Same with the light inside the bonnet. The small gap beside the hinge inside the bonnet to feed through the cable is on the passenger side, not on the driver side

You know...testing the Electronics was exactly what I was thinking; and what you experienced with it not working . . well the star I live under. Question: For those of use installing the Power Mod, what are your thoughts to have that Powered On as the cables are being connected, just to make sure that each wire works? I'm hoping EM provides what each wire is to operate? If not.. just take note what light(s) go on as each one is connected, and kept on until the body is attached just to make sure nothing happened... ??

Wayne, the stock batteries and wiring cannot support the updated flux and Christmas tree. Chloe Powell discusses how to wire it up and has a new power mod for steady power. Bad news thought, it needs to come apart again...

It was watching these videos showing your frustration that persuaded me to get the Blitzway Ecto 1 instead of EM! I have a short temper with inanimate objects.. I could sense the impending frustration..

Having eventually got my latest issues, everything appears to have gone fine, but what lights am I expected to have? I have flux and SID (Chloes mods), all dashboard time controls etc blue leds on top and front, door leds and roof lights in car....I think that's it until the front and back lights are attached? when does the bonnet light come on?

for me the 1/8 scale looks a bit compressed compared to the 1/6 scale from Hot Toys. Might be just the camera angle? awesome model though, love all the light up functions

Hi Wayne cool videos bin watching you from the start . I’m also building the delorean and have just noticed my rear panel from issue 1 the Diecast metal is a completely different colour to all the other panels and has a gloss finish is yours the same

Can you remember what wire 21 is for ?? Yellow and orange coming from the board . This was the only left over wire I had when I did a test run

Well done Wayne you got there!....... :) I am now dreading this issue even more now after watching what you just went through!..... :/ Though as I didn't update my electrics from the original I should be okay with the power of the lights etc! Though my wing mirrors will most definitely come apart again as they are already only glued on! Ha Great work mate. Wish me luck. Your batteries were dead in the end.

Wane I know how you’re frustrated with this issue I felt your pain I went through your pain with the same problem getting a hold of it from Eagle Moss was like pulling teeth I know you finished your DeLorean a while back but this is where I’m at right now I finally got the peace in everything‘s working and today I’m finally putting it together for the last time everything‘s working great but the frustration of taking it all apart it was a nightmare but it’s done and it’s cleaned up very good and then finally moving onto the next issues whenever Eagle Moss decides to send it

Didn’t enjoy this issue . Struggled to get the body of the car to fit . Wire seem to short . Ended breaking parts it was that much of a struggle

In Mexico we are in issue 74, and I need to know, can We Try the electrics now or We need to wait until this issue?

Wayne I don't think we will see the floor plate,when the cars complete. We will have silver rods running down each side of the car, conecting the time bands.

My only issue with this was I couldn't get 1 of the screws in, passenger side front screw. The gap is too far. I've got a circle metal piece sticking out sitting on the frame which doesn't allow the frame to get any closer. Does anyone else have this problem?

Wayne I feel your pain. What a nightmare issue that was!. I'm not looking forward doing this issue at all.

I reckon you won't have to paint the floor black. There will be a panel that goes along that gap like on the real DeLorean.

When I put the top off onto the bottom of the car, the driver's door will not close properly near the steering wheel any Idea Of what's causing it thanks

The quality of this kit is pretty bad. I had to order a new driver side door assembly because the hinges are very fragile. I am currently in issue 91 and the frame appears to be bent. Buyer beware.

Did you miss the memo? The batteries get drained even when you've got the lights off on this thing, which is why it's probably better to get Chloe's power mod installed. Also, why didn't you try changing the batteries first??? lol. Happens to the best of us mate. ;)

Yeah so this whole episode tells me one simple thing. DO NOT REST the the car on it's sides while flipping over back and forth. Or you will be gluing the mirrors back on. :D

With the delorean you need to use high quality batteries not cheap batteries and the deloreans electricals will always work well..from Andrew living in Australia

Excellent video Wayne and I’m dreading this issue (although it would be nice if Eaglemoss could be bothered to send it to me). My lights went off a few months back but then came back in too. I’ll be gutted if they go back off once it’s connected

fours hours for latest 4 issues and it Mine together ok until i switched it on and the replacement Leds for the roof failed so have had to strip it down again and going to source some replacements

Very poor. No way if the model was quailty you should have had these issues. Poor QA typical when it comes to building eagle moss models. For the price you pay should not run into these issues. Following the model it's a pain in the arse and you saved me money. Not buying this crap. Better off buying one that allready lights up and cheaper at that. I am getting the logic toys floating delorian.
