Rob, you will never make a video that everyone likes, it's not possible. I liked the blogs, but I also like what you are putting out now, the format is good, almost like a dream. I can tell you are a perfectionist, but it isn't possible to talk every language in the world, and videos are like that. I want you to look at the facts, you have changed the format, and it still works. A lot of what you do is top notch and that is brilliant, although I guess not everyone understands that. I have found that the more I succeed, the more people it seems to upset, they are irritated by jealousy. Your log machine, I understand the impact it has for you, you are after all thanking the tree, felling the tree, cutting it to meet your needs and in its old spot another tree can grow. It's the same satisfaction when you grow your own produce to eat, to hunt for meat, and to make materials that keep us warm and dry. The instinctive man that can cope when all modern devices are not available, no electric, no TV, and I think that is why people go hiking or camping where they can get away from societies expectations and be one with yourself and nature. A lot of the issues that make us unwell in our thoughts is when our basic self thinks or tries to conform with two realities, and that can happen when both realities are too close together and merge like two ice bergs fighting through a narrow channel in the landscape. I personally respect you a lot, and I think you shouldn't change, just enjoy what you're doing and see it in a clear light.
Been foll you and Dana for years...until recently didn't know you had such a similar mindset regarding freedom, self reliance, and the people hold the power of government. Refreshing to hear someone speak their mind when nowadays so many people just go along to get along.

I love shit like this man. I don’t have a mill myself, but like you, I enjoy manual labor and being able to instantly create something. What I’ll do is go down to our city dump and pull logs out of there, cut them up and split them all by hand with my Fiskars maul for firewood. Then I haul it all to a small piece of family property and go stack it all. Hours pass me by, I’m outside surrounded by the peace and serenity of nature, mining something of value that would otherwise be dozed into a big fire pit and burned once the dump is at capacity. Many logs requiring problem solving to figure out how to get them into the back of my pickup (I do this by hand as well). I now have a huge stockpile. Nobody understands it but me. I simply love doing the work and the feeling of reward I get all throughout the process. Also have sketch books, loads of files on my laptop of t-shirt designs, etc. I say this because these videos you make, they really resonate with me. I sit here and nod my head in agreement to most things you say. I’m curious about many things, love to learn and love the process. We’re a lot alike man, and I find solace in knowing I’m not alone in the way I am. Many call me an ‘odd duck’ and I’m slowly beginning to accept it as a badge of honor rather than a character flaw. Just bought 40 wooded acres 3 miles from our house. Thanks for the inspiration. Can't wait to get my sawmill and start building. We like both types of video. It was hard to keep up with the daily though. Had to binge to catch up every week.
Another great video man. Personally i like the vlog style a little more but its your content i appreciate both styles just glad you take the time out of your day to make these videos and to share some advice and wisdom.
As someone who also puts everything into there work and passion above everything. I just lost my father abruptly a couple weeks ago, I have no regrets in the amount of time spent in business but a few months before he passed I started squeezing in a few extra hours every week to spend time with my dad and chose to work later and sleep less those days. Looking back it was worth every fucking moment with him, no matter how hard it was to squeeze in. Food for thought Rob. Appreciate you
I don’t have cable TV or watch it. I watch you and a few channels I subscribe to. My hero is Dana but I adore the whole family, the message you send each time even if you don’t intend to, I get something from each video I don’t care what style it is delivered. It’s almost like watching my favorite reality show, I enjoy the animals and watching you guys feed and care for them, seeing what you see in the morning while it’s still dark, your family and success and the struggle to progress. All of it is so good, like a mini documentary. I’m sure it’s a lot of work to pull together to present to us. It doesn’t have to be the best quality I just love seeing it! Thank you!!
If u go alone - you may arrive at the dream u have envisioned- it will feel amazing for a moment. And then the reality will set in. It wasn’t worth the pain you caused others who need you now. And you will realize you need them now as well. If your big dream creates distance from your true friends - they will wait for you but the price of the time in separation can never be realized. The Filming in the woods are much more relax to watch then you in the office, in my opinion. office shoots, you always think, you're missing something, little easteregg or hint for something up-coming. dunno why, weird brain maybe. but milling in the wood or just doing stuff on the farm and calm voice in the backround and telling the story of life/ the week, that calms myself down and make it much more relaxed to watch. i like those kind of videos 🙃
i swear these drop when i need those words most. building my business to where it's now took so much sacrifice that people don't see but celebrate the wins, never the work you put in that was soul crushing at times. if you didn't share your words Rob, didn't start CCV (i did the 2nd round) i wouldn't have the next level in my business i do now. you and Dana never miss a beat and it makes us never want to either. This style is SO much more enjoyable and meaningful !! The Blog Style was good but it seemed rushed at times and didn't have nearly as much meaning. If I were to document my life I'd certainly want it to have meaning and be worthy of my best. This new style is worthy of your best, your time, and my dedication to watching your journey.

Love the beautiful shots. I personally really enjoy the real raw vlog style stuff also because it's more reality authentic. However, this is a huge part of your life, so maybe mash em up a bit. After all, it's ur life and your journey & whatever you wanna show to the world and whatever you wanna practice working with on and putting together . There are so many people doing professional videos and photos, and that's so cool. One of my favorite things about social media and RU-vid has always been the more raw perspectives and authentic stuff. And this is still that amd is so cool to see your development with your shots. I enjoy all the variety you put out circle about with. I also love ur people online and give you input. It's so helpful when people give meaningful input when you ask for it, lol. I dig the animals, the home life bts, the creative work, the building, the trips , the car stuff, the training, all entertainment put together like you do. I think you're wonderful with your arts when you just do what you do.

Love it man, my dad passed last year and I’ve never felt we spent enough time. I have 10 acres in rural northern nevada and I really enjoy just going there and working on the property and seeing the small improvements come together. It’s sort of meditative for me…

I enjoy botht he vlogs and these videos! I really miss the day to day (or weekly) aspects of seeing how you work, how you move through projects and all of your different tasks. It makes me feel like I have that other person there who is also on a similar journey to connect with. These are great too to help build your vision and story. Sometimes they feel moreso like epic art pieces than the connection we had with the vlogs but that is also part of who you are and YOUR journey of creating. Do what feels right and sustainable for you. I will be here!

In response to your question on today’s video….I really enjoy both forms of video. It’s really nice to get your perspective on things whether that is more planned out like it is currently or more off the cuff like in the blog style videos. It’s great to see the aspects of your life you choose to share in whatever format you choose to share them. I find you and your life inspirational, so either one works for me.
Youve been an inspiration to me in many ways, youve pushed me to be a better version of myself, and youve given me someone to want to work harder than (you make it difficult btw). But as for what we like in the videos we like you. Your creativeness, your goofiness, your seriousness, and your basic bullcrap too. Making the videos that make you happy will still reach the audience that will watch you till your last video. Dont worry about us big guy, make the videos that make you happy

Man loving this new style of videos! Coming from a individual that lives a very similar lifestyle (wear your brand and own several ranches about 1000 acres) when you tie so many lifestyles into on, it makes it so fitting for individuals like us. Just turning 40 in july (got to spend it in yalls lakehouse) this year I noticed one thing as well, not spending enough time with my father as well and we live 20 minutes apart so been working on that as well and our time we spent at the lake house actually grew my relationship with my family since they got to spend that time with me there as well! Love the direction your going man and keep your foundation strong bc your doing it right man!
Don’t apologize, just keep doing what feels good to you, regardless it’s beneficial and reaches the people it’s intended to. I don’t have alot of downtime in life but when I do I watch your videos and it’s inspiring to see someone who might be writing a different book but grinding to self improve. Makes me feel less alone and those who are really grinding knows how lonely it is.
The what and how you share the different aspects/parts of your life, your work, your products, your creativity… is completely eye catching - camera angles, music, lighting - it’s just beautifully presented; then you add your talking and sharing about yourself - even the silence of just watching you do what you do- and Dana doing her thing- it’s a personalization- it’s an authenticity that brings me back to wanting to watch, to listen, to get inspired/learn. I look forward to these videos every week- never disappointed.

I like the intention in the new videos and the randomness of the vlog style, as contradicting as that is lol. It's hard to remember you are human sometimes lol, you function at a high level so much. Seeing you in the woods, doing simple yet intentional things help put a lot into perspective. It doesn't have to make sense to anyone, as long as it does to you. So much peace in that!
I love this style of video. Your commentary is what makes it interesting. And, I guess, I just love seeing a man be a man. You don’t get that too much anymore. Reminds me of my dad and my late husband. Both real men that did manly things. My dad was a logger and maybe that’s why I liked the sawmill vid so much.

Side note, im sure you get recommendations from everyone under the sun....but i think you'd a Stihl ms261cm ported saw. Its light with plenty of power and their professional series as well. I have a woodmizer sawmill as well and its great for bucking on the fly and whatever else you tou need it for.

This video was awesome Rob. The intro talking about hard work and fun/family aside to achieve your goals was big. That was me in my 20-30a while chasing after my fighting career. With all sports I aged out. Now in my late 30s I see how many years I lost with my family and my dog that I’ll never get back. That’s pretty much the 2nd part of your video. Now I just make sure I have enough money to be happy and I spend way more time with family.
