Oh wow, i didnt know you can see the space station with the naked eye, thats so cool. Im gonna have to check when itll be going over my house and go out and try to see it.

Looking back on this video, i now realised that u put the next 2 parts upside down after the 2 black angled pieces. Glad now u have sorted it out in pack 4! Methinks now i should have pointed it out at the time!

Good to see your over your flu Wayne and this looks a good build but I don't know where I would put it. I think maybe it would be more appropriate to have an image of the Earth on the base. Hope you have a strong ceiling in your workshop and perhaps you could paint it black and have twinkling LED stars.

It looks like the round object connected to the black piece to the left is not together properly. Not sure if you saw that. This is going to be a great model. Can't wait to see it finished.

This is going to be brilliant, we all know you love your Wera screwdrivers, but that NASA screwdriver looks the dog's you know whats, so maybe you could use it for the last screw of the build, it would be great if it turned out to be one of those as5 screws!

Them little orange angled bits i gather are the thrusters to orient the space station

I built the Lego version a few years ago. That one lacked as* screws

My grandpa from my mother's side, worked on the Appolo project out of the Huntington Beach, Ca facility, which I believe closed many moons ago. And I have visited the NASA center in, I think Georgia(?) - fascinating. Say Wayne, you're not using your new wireless mic?

Re AS5 screws. This is also why I spell a certain word 5H1T online. Parsers don't spot it but the mark one human eyeball does :) Thought for the day.. 'R screw sounds like '@r$e crew'. I may be getting older but I refuse to grow up *lol*

The black bits are pressure mates adaptors which the shuttle docked to the other is zarya.

I'm 100% certain that AS5 was done on purpose, and I'm 100% certain that childish snickering was involved in the decision. 😂

Looks good so far. Thought about getting this but wanted to see you put do a few packs before I jumped in. Also not sure where I would put this as it's pretty big.

A nice easy start but the model will become very difficult to film as it gets bigger in all directions. And storage will become very difficult until the model is growing.🤔🤯 Loving the new build. Stay safe all.

Wayne, you may have 100 of those screwdrivers, but you only have one that says NASA on it

PMA-1 and Zarya module: done. It seems that the model is a bit outdated, like showing the configuration the ISS had five years ago or so: some things changed in the western section with the addition of that inflatable experimental habitational module and the additional small solar panels on the truss.

Darn AS5 screws! Before you know it there will be P38 screws! 😂

FYI Wayne, you have a typo in the title of this video -- the word "built" should be changed to "build". The ISS looks like a very cool model!

Just got my pack one Wayne and as you know I'm a spacenut as well i also have the ISS tracker on my phone

If I was designing this model I'd have fitted it with a rechargeable battery and would have made the solar panels able to charge it.

I wish these companies would just sell the models as a complete package instead of a monthly subscription or at least give you that option.

So pack 1 they give you a nice metal handled screwdriver from the look of it and then in pack 2 they give you one of the crappy plastic handled screwdrivers honestly it’s like they didn’t realize people are buying these things I’d prefer the nice one myself but I use mine that has interchangeable bits

Thanks for the video, very clear. You don’t address the total cost of the model. On the web page De Agostini seem to be a bit shy about how many stages make up this part work. There are 6 binders provided each holding 20 assembly stages so probably 120 stages. After package 3 each monthly package contains 6 assembly stages each at a cost of £11.99 + £1.00 P&P + £1.00 if a stand required, that adds up to £13.99 x 6 = £83.94 for most months for at least 18 months after the first 3 mailings. Add to that some months come with a binder at an extra £7.99. Most space models are in 1:144 scale, this offering is 1:120. I’m sure many will enjoy making this model but for me circa £1 600 (≡ $2 000) for something in 1:120 scale is a bit too rich. I wish you well with the build and look forward to seeing it completed. 🙂

What kind of glue are you using to attach the plastic parts to the metal ones?

The kits by this manufacturer seem expensive. The kit comes in monthly parts.

What kind of oil do you use to dip the screws in?

Great project, Wayne. I might take this on myself, I would love to have a replica of the ISS. I do have a question for you though, it’s about your lighting. I’m trying to find good lighting for my modeling desk but I can’t seem to find anything adequate I am assuming you have LED fighting, what is the brightness on those lights? Do you have any issues with it at all ? Trying to find something with 1000 lm, but man it’s a lot harder than I thought it would be… for a workbench? It’s crazy. Any advice would be most welcomed. I’m glad you’re out there. Thanks.
