Lol, the phrase "Historically Correct" always makes me chuckle, if I ever build a "Historically Correct" model it will be the first time! Who amongst us has ever had a History Professor drop round for a cup of tea and a biscuit and to criticise the contents of our display cabinets? We are modellers not bloody Historians!, its meant to be fun not lectures and research.

LOL @martinoconnor4314 start a RU-vid channel, you'll be running short on tea bags within a week.

@@TheNoviceModeller Lol, I don't doubt it Andy, I have seen so many posts from rivet counters that I wonder if they actually build models or spend every waking hour trawling the internet looking for someone to put straight over the correct shade of Panzer Grey. I base this thought on one guy on a Modelling website that I was a member of, he was the biggest critic of others work yet in the nine years he was a member he had only posted about one of his builds and he had never even completed it. A case of "Do as I say and not as I do and when I want your opinion I'll give it to you!".

I have two characters The Novice Modeller suffering from a Midlife Crisis and the Muppet who Makes Models Badly, one is my suit of armour, the other my shield, there was a character at the beginning of this RU-vid journey called "Angry Andy" my sword? he is currently barricaded under multiple locks, bolts and padlocks in the cupboard under the stairs, feasting on the remains of Harry Potter, i hear him banging on the door sometimes. PMSL.

Good to see the progress. Hope that your painting goes better than mine: - primed the Willys Jeep in Mr Surfacer and followed up with Vallejo U.S. Army Drab. It looked fine, but wouldn't stand the merest abrasion. The primer was mostly o.k., but the Vallejo just didn't work. Best wishes.

Thanks @georgeclements2742 just on my second coffee then shower and off to the garage for a bit of painting. I have an 80 colour set of 10ml ICM paints that i picked up for about £65 not used them yet, not heard of many people using them, will let you know my thoughts on them in the coming weeks.

As a diorama, the Horsa parked behind the C-47 with the long coils of rope piled up would be perfect...maybe show the troopers lining up to get in both aircraft. What a great opportunity with both kits. Good luck, Dane

hello there @daneshivers2921and thanks for watching. Great idea, just the teo kits tough i'm afraid, diorama bases and such things are on the learning schedule, perhaps i can "Finish" it with a runway base for next years anniversary. Cheers.

@@TheNoviceModeller EVEN 1/72 SCALE MODEL PLANES CAN TAKE UP SOME ROOM.I HAVE FAITH THAT YOU CAN DO IT.

Hi Andy. I was thinking about these two kits earlier and was wandering how they were coming along. Well you,ve certainly progressed with them. As someone has commented the C47 did tow Horsa's but if your going to represent that then you need to cut off the tailcone on the C47. If you had primed the Horsa in black paint you could have saved yourself a little bit of time. The varnish process is gloss first then apply your decals and then use matt to get rid of the shine. You do it this way to eliminate silvering of the decals. The interior paint isn,t that important if you can,t see inside so don,t worry about that but as your skills improve you might want to open up an aircraft so then it will be necessary. As for forgetting to put parts in, well that particular part might have helped in getting the fuselage to join up better. As for the fuselage join well there are a couple of ways to do it depending on how bad the fit is. I suggest to join the halves together as best as you can the gently scrape along the join , then smaer a thin slip of putty along it and then sand it down. The other way is to gently scrape along the edge of each fuselage half so that when you join them together there will be a little 'V' channel in the join , then put a thin rolled worm of putty in the join and smooth it down a bit the when it has cured then sand it down till smooth. It takes longer to write it than to do it. Anyway well done so far. Good luck bud.

hi Brian yes gloss first then matt/satin, decals in the middle , flatten paint, prevent silvering, i stumbled on the vid then tried to correct. familiarity with processes takes a bit of getting used to like everything else LOL. the towing issue was a response to other previous comments regarding Operation Tonga which the Horsa is intended for along the lines of STirling and Halifax's were used, not Dakota's. there is a lot of knowledge and opinions out there about everything and a lot of easily offended/irritated people who get potentially wound up by the smallest thing. e.g I tend to cover the German symbol and refer to them as "the nasty symbol" if i do this its historical inaccuracy, if i dont its waving the thing round and promoting it, youtube do NOT like the Nasty symbol. lots of mines in the mine field, or the comments section LOL try to avoid one step on another LOL. there is an opinion in the "Official RU-vid creator community" that you should leave the comment section alone and not involve yourself, this works for the BIG BOYS as "thousands of comments from thousands of viewers and subscribers are impossible to deal with" for small fish like myself its different, RU-vid like engagement, it helps drives the algorithm positively, so far i have spent two hours on it today LOL. Off to the garage for painting now LOL, and my first drink of the day PMSL. Be seeing you.

I agree, internal detail in 1/72 is a waste of time. One way to achieve a modeller’s sense of satisfaction in this scale is to take some well lit high resolution photos during the build stage. Which I think is quite pointless as we all want to see the completed model, not a bunch of photos.

Hello there @tonyparker4211 and thanks for watching. I admire kit builders that go 125% on their builds, but like i said i am no where near that level, and when i do build a kit it's normally on a pretty tight time scale, its not ideal, but its just the way the cookie crumbles. I do have an intention to actually film a few builds in the future, instead of these "Build updates" but i am a Technophobe and need to learn how to edit first LOL, been promising to do so for a few months LOL, but time flies when you having fun.

Good video again. Small note, somebodies been giving you false info. Dakota’s did tow Horsa gliders. One at a time, or they could tow a couple of Waco’s. How do I know? My grandfather’s mate towed a Horsa glider, what did he fly? A Dakota.
@TheNoviceModeller
@TheNoviceModeller 19 дней назад
Hello again @IamNasman and thanks for watching, sorry i may have been a bit unclear there, i have previously discussed building these two for Market Garden Anniversary, and somebody pointed out that Operation Tonga (Pegasus Bridge) D-Day gliders were towed by Halifax's and Stirling's not Dakota's, now even though i had stated that i was building these for Market Garden, i was still fact checked against the Horsa Kit which is a D-DAY Pegasus Bridge kit. Its all very confusing i know LOL, making these vids is a bit of a mine field, shall i cover the German decal symbol with my finger and refer to it as the "nasty" symbol or should i wave it around and call it what it is for historical accuracy? whatever you do someone somewhere wags their finger, and RU-vid is ALWAYS watching, or so i hear, LOL. None of this is helped by my knowledge, which is approaching fair to reasonable, however i have a lot of walking, talking, breathing encyclopedia's watching PMSL.

@@TheNoviceModeller no offence was meant, just a useful, useless bit of information I have. I couldn’t do a channel, for many reasons, these include: I come from Birmingham and sound ‘fick’’ when recorded, (which I may be, but I don’t want to be reminded of it); I have no patience with people and I suffer from sarcasm, which tends to rub aforementioned people up the wrong way. So, ignore me, or not and keep up the good work.

LOL @IamNasman no offense taken, i may have been a little terse, soz, was just the end of a long day on the comments section. LOL in person i can be very sarcastic and impatient, irritable and aggressive, officious and occasionally imperious..... on here LOL, i have had to change my ways over the past 7 months PMSL. I have two characters "The Novice Modeller suffering from a Midlife Crisis" and "The Muppet who Makes Models Badly" one is a suit of armour the other a shield, i haven't found a suitable "character" to use as a weapon yet though LOL.
