Hi Gregory...fantastic sound. Would love to see a view of the back of the those DIY cabinets. Also, what kind of speaker binding posts do you recommend for the DIY cabinets (any particular brand)?

Jazz and solo voice is so easy just about any cheap speaker can do it.. However an orchestra at full volume is so hard.. Not many speakers can do it properly.. Even the Wilson's and Von Schweikert's struggle.. So next time let's hear Wagner Das Rheingold at full volume then we'll see if you actually have a speaker lol.. Also the sound is distorting on this video???

Great videos Gregory! I am enjoying all of them. I would love to hear videos with the same tracks across different Cube Audio speakers. Perhaps the Nenuphar, Nenuphar Mini, and Jazzon. Also would be great to hear your different drivers in the same DIY cabinet. Not sure if any of these requests are practical or not but just a thought. Thanks for your efforts here - I will keep listening to all your videos

once you start playing a busy track electronic or metal, you will start hearing less separation and more muffled sound, even a tiny 2 inch speakers starts to give you less defined high frequencies on a busy track , a tweeter is still reccomended as it's faster more precise and less frequencies interfare with each other

The sound nice. Would be nice to hear them with heavier music as well. Many of these full range speakers sound super nice with just few classical instruments. Some good prog rock/metal would be nice to hear

Beautiful setup, how do these speakers compare to the Qualio speakers sound vise in your room? It sounds great, but it is still RU-vid!

Friend, yes it's RU-vid, sounds VG to me! I hear most of the nuances. Maybe you need some new audio ears!?... 🤨🤨

Voice sounds horrible, zingy high tension wire noise interfering with it, awful, I couldn't live with it.

Girl with guitar and guy duo sounds better, not the most dynamic but better than the previous electronica guy, but I still hear a zingy nasal sound .

Compared to your 4“ driver comparison video I think this speaker sounds worse and somewhat flat(?) noticeable at 8:49. I listen to that song on a regular basis and it doesn’t feel right. It lacks the warmth (like the MA Pluvia HD). Did something happen in the recording or is the RU-vid compression really kicking into high gear?

Sounds great in a medium to large room but if you have a small room as I do what do you recommend then ???

90dB @3kHz and 100dB @10kHz need special efforts to mitigate this. If you scale their FR graph properly, you'll see how wavy their FR is. But these are good fullrangers with their own mood (rather a modern sound than a classical one)
@VirtualHiFi
@VirtualHiFi 6 месяцев назад
Thanks for the comment 😊. The peak does not to be addressed at all, it's only on axis and the measurements from around 5 to 70 degrees is very flat and that means that average energy in the room will be very equal and flat. All that has to be done is to do a small toe in of the speakers so that they are angled by 5-10 degrees of axis.
@sc0or
@sc0or 6 месяцев назад
@@VirtualHiFi According to their graph, there is a 7dB difference from 1kHz to 3kHz (and 5 dB in other ranges). What is remarkable is that of axis level does not drop significantly. This must lead to a very comfortable listening. But again, the BBC deep and upward slope to 10kHz say this is a modern sound driver. That's good for people who likes it.
@VirtualHiFi
@VirtualHiFi 6 месяцев назад
Yes the lack of drop off the axis is to exalize the energy dispersion across all axis. When you think about the energy coming from any driver the effective range of the driver is when it still have no drop under big angle otherwise the speakers will not sound any good. So don't trust the measurement on axis. To have real measurement one should average measurements across all possible angles since unless the speaker are placed in anachronic chamber there are reflections and the room isi filled with energy coming from entirety of the angles of the driver
@sc0or
@sc0or 6 месяцев назад
@@VirtualHiFi jj.. Do you think they made this intentionally to have a good FR in case the columns oriented orthogonally to a wall, and so an angle to a listener is more than 0 in this case, sir? This could reduce the difference between 3kHz and 10kHz. Otherwise there will be an unwilling drop at 10kHz. People typically don't like loudspeakers angled.

This is a Fc8 drivers in a DIY cabinets. The drivers used to be in Bliss C loudspeakers that we discontinued, but we kept the drivers for DIY enthusiasts. So the drivers can be purchased for around 2000 Euro and the cabinets you can do for 200 euro + your work and satisfaction ;)
