Omg! No filing and buffing?! That is amazing! I got the Diva Box, and unfortunately there was no builder gel in mine, BUT because Dodi is outstanding, she got one packaged right up for me and took care of it, so I should be able to play with it this week! I can’t wait to do a fill! And I’m going to have to grab a back up when it goes on the site this week, because I already know I will love it. Your nails are so beautiful Kate! I reach for triple d typically. I have also used and enjoy ManiBoss as well as Double Dip clear.

Great video!! Your nails are always drool worthy! 😍 I have 3 questions: 🙃 1) Did you only do 1 layer or builder gel to fill in? 2) After you applied your BG, I always thought you had to apply gel base then gel top coat? But you went straight to apply gel top coat. Do you only apply the gel base if you file/buff your BG? (I use peel base too.) 3) You flash cured your nails, which is a great idea! Did you go back and cure them longer before apply top coat?

1) generally yes. I like my builder gel to be thin so I keep my fills thin. 2) IF i had wiped off the tacky layer and then buffed the surface then I would have used gel base again before top to be sure the top coat adhered well. However because I didn’t remove the tacky layer from the builder gel I went right in with top coat. 3) I should have specified that I did the full 30 seconds for my final finger (though by the time you get there each finger has had multiple “flash cures” )

I know you use builder gel for strength for your natural nails. I want to grow my natural nails out but want to use full coverage nail tips until then. Will that work? If so is is even necessary until i get them grown out? Thank you LOVE your channel

The diamond barrel came with my old efile but check out my amazon storefront, I found the bit in a set or two available on Amazon and saves it there. The finger rest I use is from liquid layers. Make sure you check out the link in my description box for discounts, I have one for them.

I do not, I use peel base. If I was going to I’d use a carbide or ceramic bit to remove the bulk of the color.

This looks so easy! I’m still relatively new to dipping my nails and I haven’t used builder gel or peel base yet but it’s the next thing I want to try because my nails are feeling a little weak and I’d like them to grow. My question is when you pop a dip mani off, is there anything you need to do to prep the nail for the next dip if you don’t need to fill the builder gel yet? Thanks!

Great question. I do hardly anything before my next mani. If there is any residual dip around the edges I gently file it off, I may push my cuticles back gently... but that's it. Then peel base and dip again. :-)

Thanks so much for the demo!! I was wondering, because I’ve never used a builder in a bottle before, only in a pot. However, I do have the Pottle from Pottle.co. Have you used one before? I haven’t used the brush that comes with it, I just store my builder gels in them and use it as a pot, or if I want to mix things in with my builder gels. Anyway, my question was.... if I were to use builder gel in a pot and in a bottle, I would first apply the builder gel using a pot and brush(that way it would be easier to build my apex/structure. Then when it was time to do fills, I would use the builder in a bottle. Is that how you use both of them, or will you stop using the pot with a brush and only use the builder in a bottle? 🙏🏽 I also wanted to let you know that you and your family are in my prayers and I hope everyone continues to get better quickly!!

Yes, you could definitely use your BG in a pot first and do fills with builder in a bottle... that is likely how I will use it too. Best of both worlds!

Awesome video! I just did my first try of this BG in a bottle and love it! The thing I struggle most with is the speed of my e-file. What are the speeds you use? I also use the diamond bit to file down/shape but cannot seem to find the perfect speed to make the process a little faster. I want to say I’m a little nervous to go too fast but also don’t want to keep taking forever.

8-9,000 rpms is about all I use for builder gel with diamond bits.

I have used both, the Aimeili is thicker consistency and therefore a bit harder to manipulate in my opinion.

Not long. I pretty much finish applying bond and then move onto my gel base. It doesn’t seem to require a dry time in my experience.

How do you trim builder gel if your nails get too long after filling a few times? Is it possible? Also, how much peel base do you use on top of your builder gel? I want to use builder gel but I usually do only a strip of peel base on my natural nails and my nails only last a week. I wouldn’t want to cover the whole nail because I’m afraid it would only last a few days, so can I put dip directly on the builder gel and still have it pop off with just a bit of peel base? Hope that made sense 😅

Possible, yes, you can soak off builder gel... it's not easy though (in my experience). I file it as thin as possible and then soak in acetone... it takes much longer than dip for me... but I rarely need to soak off, in fact I probably have never actually needed to do so. I use one coat of peel base over my BG, that's it. If you leave a thin margin around the cuticle and side walls when applying your peel base, and then make sure to cap your free edge really well when you top coat then you can probably get a week of wear.... The nice part about BG is that if you do have lifting or if the dip powder pops off then your nail is protected from breaking or from trapped moisture creating a fungus.

If you still have the tacky layer on your builder gel then go right in with your gel color. If you have buffed or wiped the tacky layer off then gel base first and then gel color.

Yes. It takes longer to soak off but soaking will eat into it. I use peel base under my dip, on top of my builder gel.
