Озвучку, я хоть и ни слова не понимаю, но с голосом лучше всего! Успехов тебе, друг мой, ты-талант! Очень надеюсь, что в твоей стране ручной труд ценится, жду новых видео.)
Less than $40/hour is not enough. I understand there is a market ceiling cost, but if this your only source of income, charge enough. Really liked the final product.
$10,000 would have been a more realistic and fair price. The 100 hrs he mentioned couldn't have included all he invested in term of design and build time and materials, wear and tear, travel time etc tc.
$40 an hour for 100 hours of unskilled work is extortionate. This kind of artless epoxy stuff has been done to death. It's a roughly constructed and rough looking upside down chopping board with legs. He did well to sell it for $4K.
@user-qk7id7ev9u You're missing the point. ANY endeavour done as a living needs to pay enough to live! Would you work for $40/hr? Way less after material, energy and workshop overheads are deducted.
@@peterlewis7397 You're missing the reality - no one pays anyone more than they have to. It's why nearly everything is made in China, Mexico, etc, and why the federal minimum wage in the US is $7.50.
Definitely voiceover no subtitles. You have a really awesome sense of humor and I like your jokes. I think people would subscribe even more to you when they learn how great your personality is.
No shit! mistakes happen, the important thing is to learn from them, and hopefully not do any damage that isn't fixable. Accidentally put my Stanley knife through my palm a month or so ago, a few stitches but got lucky and avoided any of the tendons and nerves. You can bet that I'm a lot more careful around a blade than I was before.
I really appreciate your voiceovers, it’s a lot easier to listen than read, I’m always afraid I’ll miss something while I’m reading. Love your work! I’m the designer, while my husband does most of the work. I love receiving inspiration from your work!
Love your Work. You are my inspiration. I'm a Woodworker/Hobbyist myself. Been here since your first Project on this Channel. You've had a great development since then. I wish you the best for the future.
I enjoy the voice over . You are an amazing woodworker I am a cabinetmaker for over 30 years I really appreciate your craftsmanship. I’m glad you weren’t hurt I hope your router is ok
This is our first time watching your channel. We love the bench. We would absolutely like to hear you continue with the voiceovers. We watch several channels that are silent or seeking the ASMR vibe. That’s okay, but it’s being done too much, I think. We definitely prefer voiceover or real-time narration or a mix of both. Your narration was awesome.
When you explain the ways you achieve the effects, and what kind of wood you use. It's not out of place to use words. But it's also very relaxing to watch you in action, while some beautiful music is playing in the background... words or not, it doesn't matter... and depending on the situation and the work you're doing... just keep going
Your voice is very pleasant and it is appreciated listening to you. Since I don't speak much English, I add the subtitles in Spanish so I can understand what you are saying. Definitely, voice. Thank you very much to share your work!
this method has been used in masonry for hundreds if not thousands of years. But it's really awesome to see being done with wood! I don't mind the narration but it's whatever is easiest for you, regardless your channel rocks! Thanks for your channel!
4k is not enough to charge for this gorgeous bench. Not sure how much you should charge though as I don’t know when potential customers start backing away because of the cost. But you make one of a kind art pieces and they cost more. Absolutely beautiful!
@@nanschafer9999 It's not easy to calculate the selling price of a piece like this, as I can't be sure how long it will take me to make it. Now that I've done it, I know I should have charged a bit more.
@@marmotaworks I think it always comes down to what's your goal. Wanna just making stuff for a living then probably this kind of projects are the worst for it. Fast and dirty projects like kitchen boards or shelves are more profitable in terms of time/money. But I think you enjoy your work and want to bring us more and more unique projects, which is a completely different way, and I hope you will stick to this way and it will pay for itself, so you will charge 10-100 times more and sell from the point of real peace of art of a known woodworker
First time on your channel and I must say you work is wonderful. I'd definitively vote for voiceover, I love to hear the thought process.behind a project. Ans thanks for the router part, its comforting we are not the only one to screw up from time to time...
few comments: I think 4k is less to charge for it but people who dont know what goes into making this will think its very high so i usually reserve such pieces for me. Also it would be good to invest in a trim router for trim operations. I cant even imagine using full size router for that purpose. I agree that router is the scariest power tool I have used.
Wow, this is a new and delightful way to let the wood do the talking. This is why parquetry was invented but your pieces are so satisfyingly organic. I'm going in with a build. Your voice over is perfect and the exposition of mistakes (don't talk about the router) potentially life or limb saving. Cool!! (68 year old woodworking hobbyist from Australia)
It's a work of art mate. So well done and looks awesome. I prefer the voice over. Glad you included the router mishap as an educational inclusion. We all stuff up our woodworking. I have had pieces of timber flying off my lathe in the beginning. If one doesn't learn from these things you are not doing it right. Please keep the vids coming. Again, so well done. Wow!! What a beautiful, artistic table. Man, you're good. As an Ironworker with almost 40 years in union trades, I must say your steel frame is excellent.
@marmotaworks I'm sure. But even if it were perfect, you're have to purposely mar it because only GOD can be perfect. Your table is beautiful. Many woodworker craft a beautiful table top and ignore the legs. You didn't; yours are beautiful too.
Awesome project! I route a lot of end grain and had the same issue with the router, best choice i've made is switiching to a spiral compression bit, the problem with the straight bits is that they grab way too much wood in one shot.
Definitely voice over. You've got great presenting voice, and explain everything very well. I've been working with routers a very long time, and have everything from little trim routers to a couple of the most powerful on the market. I've never had one grab and jump like that! Bending the shaft, and destroying the collet from what it looks like. Wow! A great reminder to always respect the tools and take care.
As a videographer, I always prefer voice over to live captions. You have a good confident voice and you keep your audience engaged. I would use voice over from now on.
First time viewer, I love the project here! And I prefer the voiceover. I like to do other things while watching these kinds of videos so subtitles can make that virtually impossible. Thank you for sharing your beautiful artwork with us.
Your work is technically excellent, and I see it as supremely creative. Of course it's worth $4k. Don't question that, because your result is beyond beautiful. All good wishes.
You do such beautiful work!! And the balance of voiceover and music you do is perfect. Especially because when the music plays, the background sounds are still audible! That makes for really smooth transitions. Great work!
What a great video, and a very beautiful bench, this was the first video I have seen of yours, I look forward to watching more as a new subscriber. Your voice over works well. Now, the router bit, well done for showing it, good warning to see it, I could feel the anger and annoyance in the moment. I felt your pain. Thanks again .
Honestly i think this should be quite strong unlike what those comments said. The epoxy soaks into the wood, grabbing each and every little fiber it can which should create a really strong bond between the pieces. I like the voice over better also! I like to watch, sometimes thats hard to do as you try to read subtitles as well lol.
Beautiful work. Always a voiceover. Subtitles get in the way of the video at times. I can always mute the voiceover but I can't get rid of the subtitles.
I prefer the voiceover. Also don't beat yourself up. When you work with tools things are going to happen. And good job on the metal frame. I work in manufacturing as a quality manager in a steel manufacturing company and I think you did pretty good.
Man , you are worried about the wrong thing . I wouldn't worry about voice overs or none of that . Leave it all in your videos . I would leave all my mistakes , Blood sweat and my tears . Your work is beautiful . Leave everything , people need to see that your not trying to be perfect . Your human everybody makes mistakes so in my opinion showing everything you went through and still turning out a beautiful product as you did it's amazing man . Truly a beautiful pc of art ... Love it
This is a piece of art. Question, how you let the wood move while attached to that steel frame? I like the idea of using metal but I don"t know how to handle wood expansion with the metal.
my personal opinion: i prefer videos with voiceover (and the sounds of the tools too) because I'm not really a woodkworker but I love watching videos like this and I love to learn. When you talk and kinda little explain your steps helps me to learn and understand and give me the chance to let your videos run on a 2nd monitor, so I can enjoy the video, listen, and meanwhile can work or play on my 1st monitor without being stucked in the video to read everything so I don't miss maybe something important. and i think i have a better connection to you hearing your voice explaining your work and your thoughts.
Hi! I am very impressed with your bench project. The idea of recycling old trees is amazing! Your woodworking skills are amazing. I especially like how you use different types of wood to create unique patterns. Can you share more about the type of wood you used for the bench top? I am looking for a durable and beautiful wood to do a similar project. Thanks for this helpful video!
This is the first video of yours I have seen, great ideas. I like the voice over, I have a hard time reading captions as my eyes are not as good as they used to be.
Thanks for the demonstration of your work and all the great ideas it provided. I think I will take a welding class. It seems like a very valuable skill in addition to woodcraft.
The voiceover was great. It also allows you to add commentary like discussing the finishing products. You likely wouldn't include all of that if you were only doing captions.
