Perfect timing! I'm looking to make exactly this, as my next adventure into watch collecting and now into modding things for myself. Don't have a green one yet so this is literally perfect hahaha! Thanks for making this!

Love it! I have 8.75 inch wrists. 40mm on me looks small, but I sure as hell don't want an Invicta hockey puck to mitigate that. Might have to build a GMT for the hell of it.

Thanks for the great tutorial, probably the most in-depth I've seen! been trying my hand at a nh34 build and bought a case just like yours but it appears that the movement doesn't fit the case if I try to use the plastic movement holder. If I discard the holder the movement is wat too loose inside the case. Did yoi modify your case to be able to fit the movement tightly without using the plastic holder?
@GoldenStateWatchShop
@GoldenStateWatchShop 4 месяца назад
Thank you for checking out the video! I have not modified the internals of the case in this video. One thing I would suggest is to double check that the case and movement spacer you ordered are for the NH series. Often times case suppliers will make one case and will have options to fit NH series, Miyota, or ETA movements. A simple mis-click may be the reason for your struggles. Hopefully this helps, thank you for your support.

If you wanted to change out the sprite bezel, how would you go about it. Is it a case of removing the bezel insert, taking out the spring. Or can the bezel be levered off as in an SKX
@GoldenStateWatchShop
@GoldenStateWatchShop 5 месяцев назад
Changing out the bezel insert can be quite the process with this kind of case. The bezel insert is held in with an adhesive ring and to remove the insert this ring needs to be dissolved. Golf grip remover is one solvent that others have had success with. Of course doing this is not ideal as solvent exposure can cause collateral damage to seals and gaskets. The actual bezel is held on by an internal retaining spring which is hidden by the bezel insert. I've tried several times on a few different cases to remove the bezel with a case knife and I've only been met with frustration and scratched cases. This is why I am so careful when lining up bezel inserts, because you really only have one shot to get it straight. Please let me know if you have any other questions I can help with. Thank you for checking out the video!

How would one remove the bezel insert without destroying the existing one if i wish to switch to bezel design and color? One video suggested some nail polish solutions which would cause some damage. Another suggested popping out the bezel itself risking bending the bezel. Any better suggestions?
@GoldenStateWatchShop
@GoldenStateWatchShop 2 месяца назад
Hey thank you for checking out the build. Nail polish would probably work to dissolve the adhesive strip. I've also heard of people using Golf Grip Remover and having good results. I would exercise caution if you decide to remove the bezel insert this way. When using strong solvents like this you run the risk of damaging other parts and gaskets within the bezel which can reduce its functionality. At least for the cases I use in these videos once the bezel insert is in place there is no way to pop off the bezel as the bezel retaining ring is hidden by the insert and cannot be taken out. Other cases are different and you may be able to pop the bezel off without issue, they may even hold the insert in place using tension rather then an adhesive. Again thank you for supporting the channel. If you have any other questions please feel free to reach out. Thank you.

Really loving the videos, I've watched hours upon hours now and had 1 question... why don't you grease the case back gaskets? As I always do this
@GoldenStateWatchShop
@GoldenStateWatchShop 2 месяца назад
Hey thank you for your support I’m glad you’ve been enjoying the videos. You are correct, lubing the case back gasket is an important step to ensure water resistance. Originally I lacked the correct equipment to perform this step and decided on not documenting my technique as many would few it as incorrect. Since then I have acquired the needed tools and equipment to lubricant the case back, crown, and crown tube gaskets and this process will be shown in upcoming videos. Thank you again for checking out the channel. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Thank you for checking out the video. Parts are purchased from a variety of different shops including namokimods, crystal times, and Lucius Atelier. Secondhandmods is another great place to look too if you are okay with used parts. Ebay and Aliexpress have a vast amount of parts available though the quality varies greatly between vendors. Thank you again for your support, please let me know if you have any other questions.

I started doing this, built about 3 nice watches but I've just bought a Pagini root beer and it's made me think.....just buy ready built and change the dial. I couldn't buy the parts for the price of this pagani. Even swapping the dial its still cheaper than buying bits separately.
@GoldenStateWatchShop
@GoldenStateWatchShop 25 дней назад
Thanks for watching the video! Swapping a dial on an inexpensive watch is a great way to customize and personalize it to your liking. Pagani Designs actually played a large part in why I started building watches in the first place. I originally bought a "Pepsi" GMT for myself and a "Rootbeer" GMT for my cousin. However, over time, my appreciation for the Pepsi faded, mainly because of things like the aluminum bezel and the Pear DG 8833 movement (this is prior to them switching to NH34's). With some searching and some time, I was able to find higher quality parts and ended up building the watch from the ground up. This is actually the watch featured in the first video posted to this channel. Again thank you very much for checking out the video and supporting the channel.

How does the 24 hrs hand move twice as slow as the hour hand ? Is it wider at the bottom ? My seiko went funny on me I had some watch mKers screw drivers so thought I'd open it up,when that movement with dial is taken out of case and crystal, jeez Louis it looked tiny tiny,so much smaller than in case with crystal,I had to put it in a drawer and leave it .
@GoldenStateWatchShop
@GoldenStateWatchShop 6 месяцев назад
Hey @davidobrien9362 the NH34 GMT movement is an adaptation on the NH36 movement. The top plate is reengineered and with some additional gearing Seiko has changed a day display to a 24Hr GMT hand. Some extra notches and detents allow the hand to click over in 1 hour increments when being set. I agree with you about how tiny the parts of the movement are. I completely disassembled a NH34 with hope to skeletonize it and its also just been sitting in a drawer. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thank you for your support!
