Great build, and great video. I thought the pace was spot on. It’s just what I need to break away from the fast pace of real life. Things go too fast in the world. It gave me time to see the detail and relax at the same time. Keep up the good work, you’ve earned my subscription today.
Thank you for checking out the video and supporting the channel. I’m glad the video was able to offer you a bit of a break from this fast passed world!
Thank you very much for checking out the channel and your kind words. This dial is from Aliexpress. There are multiple vendors that sell dials like this, most with the Seiko logo are advertised as "S Logo". Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thank you for your support.
Thank you for checking out the video! I'll try to be more detailed in my description of parts going forward especially with some of the more complex builds I have coming up. As for equipment I believe I discuss each tool with a bit more detail in my earliest video if you'd like to take a look at that one. Though I have purchased and upgraded some tools since then. Again thank you for checking out the video and supporting the channel.
Hey thank you for checking out the build. Though there are movements that come with a black date disk changing the disk from black to white gave me a chance to showcase the process on the channel. This disk also had the added benefit of being lumed in he same color as the hands and hour markers. Thank you for your support.
Hey thank you for checking out the video. There are a multitude of reasons as to why I don't post the links however the main one being often times the item is removed or changed from the vendors landing for one reason or another causing the link to throw what is essentially a 404 code. If there is a particular component you are after please let me know and I'm happy to share. If you have any other questions please let me know. Thank you for your support.
Hey thank you for checking out the video. Parts are typically sourced from a variety of websites including namokimods, crystal times, and Lucius Atelier. If you’re looking to get into the hobby secondhandmods is also a great place to start. Aliexpress and EBay have a plethora of parts though it’s important to go through the listings carefully to be sure what you’re ordering is actually what you need. As always thank you for your support, I hope this helps.

@kristiyandimitrov5519 Thank you for checking out the video. The case is from a supplier on Aliexpress. Unfortunately the shop did not have a official name, though a search using key phrases like "Royal Oak NH35 case" does tend to bring up many different options. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you for the support.
Hey thank you for checking out the video. The case was purchased from Aliexpress, unfortunately the actual shop I purchased it from did not have a name and was just a string of numbers. Searching Royal Oak case will bring up several options from a variety of vendors. I’ve also seen them available on watch-modz.com. I hope this helps. Thank you for your support.
I really enjoyed your video and details. If I could offer one piece of constructive criticism not to be mean and take it for what it’s worth but the video is very slow. Comes with time I’m sure but needs to move a little faster. Just my thoughts. But nice build and great job.
@DanCastle518 Thank you for watching. I see where you're coming from. I try to capture the build from start to finish which does lead to some long videos. In the future I plan on splitting them up into multiple parts in an attempt to shorten the videos and speed them up. Again thank you for your support and checking out the channel.
Have you made a stainless steel version of this watch with the same style 'waffle' dial? BTW, your low toned growly voice is incomprehensible when listening through my 'hearing machine'. Thanks to long-time military service, I have less than 10% hearing, so I have to watch you and 'listen' using your subtitles.
@@tacfoley4443 thank you for checking out the channel and thank you for your service. I actually have not done one of these in stainless steel with a waffle dial, they have all been skeletons. I do really want to build one in stainless steel with an ice blue dial from a company I enjoy working with, I just haven’t had the opportunity. Again thank you for your service I’m sorry to hear that it’s affected your hearing to the point where my voice can’t be heard. I’m glad you are still able to enjoy the videos through the subtitles. I just hope they are accurate. Thank you for your support.
Sounds like a pain to do, but maybe put a bit of rodico either side of the hands to stop them from moving about so much. Then boom! Just press down with the tool. Maybe give it a go mate 💯. P.S. loving the watch making from England 🏴
Hey man thank you for checking out the videos. Always cool to see the channel having an international audience. One thing I’ve started doing recently is just getting the hand in place with rodico and using the hand setting tool to gently set it. Then making my final adjustment. It’s been working well so far and will be featured in a video down the road. As always, thank you for your support.
Hey thank you for checking out the video. I understand that there is some controversy within the community with using a Seiko branded dial in a situation like this. Though I encourage the use of completely custom dials as well as sterile dials it ultimately comes down to what the individual commissioning the watch would like. In this case, a black Grand Tapisserie dial with a rose gold Seiko logo was chosen by Mr. Barrett as it most closely aligned with his vision of the watch. Please let me know if you have any other question. Thank you for the support.
@@GoldenStateWatchShop That doesn't make it ok to use it in the video. You are using a fake Seiko dial to falsely brand the watch as a Seiko which it is not. You should have masked the name. Now you're wide open for litigation for fraud etc.
Excellent build. I did the same thing in a stainless steel 39mm case, with a Grand Seiko (knock off) GMT dial, powered by NH34 luciusatelier. has the dial and hands
Sounds like a pretty solid build! I'm hoping to pair the NH34 with one of these Royal Oak cases in the future. Hopefully I can make it all work. Thank you for checking out the video.
Didn't bother watching after the homage word but I want you to know your thumbnail title was hilarious, the pretention and pomposity you managed to radiate in that short title was genius, well done😂😂🎉 Surely the "statement" is "im too much of a loser to buy the watch I want?"
Interesting build. I've been considering modding some older subs but wasn't exactly sure how challenging it would be. Think I'll give it a go. Also, do you by chance have another channel? Boylei Hobbytime? the voice sounds very familiar.
Hey thank you for checking out the video, I'd definitely encourage you to give modding a shot. Most important thing is to just remain patient throughout the process. As for your question, though I really like the work Caleb does over there on Boylei Hobbytime, especially his swamp related builds, we are different people. Perhaps theres an opportunity to collaborate with him in the future. Thank you again.
@@GoldenStateWatchShop Thanks for the advice. I ordered some parts and tools to give it a go. My daughter and I watch his videos a lot and she actually pointed it out when you said "and I called it good" she looked at me and was like wait is he the same guy? I commented and then we did a little A B comparison and realized he always says "and I called it done" But yes the attention to detail you share would do well on a collab I think. Perhaps build a watch for his western village and he bulds the display for the watch or something would be cool.
@@focus-digital-marketing-ai I'm glad your daughter caught the little nod back to his channel. I like you idea of a watch for his Imaginary Wild West world. I'll have to do some thinking and see what I can come up with.
@@GoldenStateWatchShop So I commend you. I snagged a bunch of Seiko parts before diving into some real Submariners, and I learned a few things about myself: I'm f'ing blind and lack patience. I got most of the way there-the hands were a challenge, but I managed. However, the last step of fitting the movement holder into the case with the movement totally wrecked me. I had to put it away to revisit later, lol. It's kind of a watch at this point; the crown is cut, and that went fine...
