Hks has a supercharger and JDL just came out with a turbo kit. Suprised none of the big names with the infinite money glitch (TJ) have gotten boost yet..
@@MechanicalMafioso it’s not available to the public, but apparently HKS’s turbo car has been pushing 300-400hp? The weak point so far seems to be the transmission, I know HKS went through one already at around 400hp I think. Not sure about long term though.
Neither is CARB legal. These cars might go to someone in CA so they need to be carb legal. Also, the new gen doesnt really need boost. Its a super fun and capable car N/A. Believe it or not, a car doesnt need to have 500hp to be fun and competitive on the track.
@@JonBonazza good point about the carb aspect, and I agree they don’t need crazy power lol. I’ve owned a 2017 GT86 and now a 2023 BRZ. Even in Gran Turismo 7 (before I picked up the car irl), I would take the car out way more than my more powerful cars on track, even super/hypercars. Lower limits but it never felt slow (on smaller tracks). Boost still wouldn’t hurt.
Enjoying how the car is turning out! Crazy that there was some rtv found. The exhaust sounds deep and aggressive. The carbon fiber definitely adds some character. Love the cinematic at the end. Excited for the one who wins it!

thank you for talking about this RTV issue. There is also an issue with high G right hand turns that is causing a drop in oil pressure from around 60 psi down to 25 psi.
From my understanding, it's not just RTV in the pickup that has caused engine failures in track, but also an issue associated with oil pickup during high-G right hand turns that causes significant oil pressure drops. Aftermarket engineers are currently working on a baffle that'll solve the oil pressure issues for the track.
It would be interesting if you guys had a decibel reader for the exhaust before and afters. Sometimes it's hard to tell just how loud the difference is on RU-vid
It'd be cool to get a quick cinematic ending every video! That way we really see the progression, even if certain stages look unfinished or in-progress.📈
Another location that has been identified as having excess RTV are the timing chain covers. Would be cool if you guys did an update next time you change the oil and/or drop that pan and inspect the oil pick up tube.
Amazing they are still selling this with that same problem. Also seems like putting a screen way back in the tube can be a future problem some should make a new pick up tube with the screen at the bottom
I also saw a vid where these engines also have an oil pressure problem when taking left turns. Saw video of a guy tracking it and every left turn the oil pressure dropped sufficiently. Says a fix would be a baffled oil pan

first thing I thought when seeing those side skirts on is that they look backwards lol. Most side skirts are set up with an opposite look / winglet at the back

Love the car overall. But are the skirts backwards? To me it’s odd that the fins are in the front, and they taper to the body toward the rear. Idk tho, still love the car

You guys do great work. Things come out clean and don't look like the stereotypical last 24hr SEMA rush builds. However, currently, we are spending about 90% of the time looking at your faces and 10% of the time seeing the parts/car/work etc. If you are talking about a part, can we at least see the part and what you are doing to/with it and pointing at instead continuous head shots? And slow down your shots of the cars as they progress. Would love to not have to pause and go frame-by-frame to see what changed or how it looks in a half second pan. Keep bringing the great car content, just let us see a bit more of the cars and hands on. We're not going to forget whose hands they are.
