The time-lapse shows just how hard this profession must be on the body after a few years working this hard. If I was a youngster watching this , thinking of becoming a bricklayer, this video might make me choose an easier career. Top class workmanship as always. Thanks chaps.

Good comment about clearing the pavement for pedestrians and making it safe. Some time ago I tripped and fell over a scaffold plank left by builders working on a property that was partially jutting out onto the pavement. Nasty injury and won a claim against the builder. YOU CAN NEVER BE TOO CAREFUL. 👍😏

Steve, pre-op for hip-op. Original scans/X-Rays/Blood tests et al remain extant for 6 months only, after which they are deemed 'out-of-time' and you have to go through the rigmarole all over again. But, the up-side is that you know you are still on their books and waiting list! Though how you struggle on working is beyond me, most would have given up long ago. Make the most of your 'Day Off' Al, they don't come around that often! Good job guys, keep safe both of you.

Great job. I could almost hear the disappointment in Alex's voice when he said you weren't doing 'English garden bond'.......spent all that time sorting out headers for nowt!!! 👍 I presumed you didn't need tie-wires in a wall, but good to hear they were put in. Attention to detail is amazing.

Hi guys on garden walls I sometimes went for half bond on the inside course of brick instead of the inside following the same brick as the outside brickwork as yours did, I felt it made the wall stronger , just another brickie having different ways of doing garden walls 😊

There aint many out there that go through pain each day to earn a living. I got rotator cuff to add to my ever growing list of ailments Steve.I could see you struggling mate but the work still gets done what choice do we have mate .Another great job and blue sky wow your lucky 😂😂👍👊👌

Hi, thanks for another enjoyable video. I always love how you guys work together. Being a sparky and having tried to build walls in the past, it always amazes me how you can take of the excess mortar without spreading it all over the face of the bricks, which is what I did and ended up trying for a long time to remove it with brick acid. Looking forward to the next episode.

Wow the wait for your hip operation is incredible.I live in Spain and from going to the doctor's initially to having the replacement hip,less than a year,about 50 weeks.

Lovely looking job Steve and Al. I had a garage built out of class B,s many years ago (Marshalls Armitage). I got a cracking deal on the bricks but the bricklayer hated me for it. Said they were awful to lay, very brittle and hard and no suction to take up the water out of the mortar. Looked lovely when finished though. I appreciate how easy you make this job look when it actually isn't.

Passed the job earlier today, looks great lads, along with the new block paved driveays both houses have had done

Great video guys, not so keen on the music during the Timelapse scenes - I suppose Alex is responsible for that? 😂 Am having to constantly adjust the volume, down for that and back up to hear the teaching gems………maybe bringing the music mixing level down a bit would be a good idea?

Hi Steve and Alex , walls coming on nicely , just one question tho , why use concrete blocks instead of bring concrete higher or using bricks ?

I broke my hip at work 12 years ago today, they booked me in at wrightington as urgent but it was actually replaced on the 18th june 2012

What is the purpose of the concrete blocks at foundation level? Is it just to give a stable base, or other reason? No need to tie the two leafs together in any way?
