Looking forward to living in my dream house! Thank you, Ryan's, for not only the initial support with your special but ongoing support through my build! ru-vid.comUgkxe81Bz076USDt6sYU1rDcNa2LwCIKADgB Experience has been amazing so far! Made the process easy.
I read the entire Ryan's ru-vid.comUgkxGqOCINHE0Z0E5gxzSdNi9NWGugRY5Hm2 Plans and was able to make a shed plan. Using Ryan's Shed Plans alone, the shed itself is great. Where I wish I knew more is with respect to ground preparation and foundations. Maybe that's beyond the scope of Ryan's Shed Plans.
hi Kyle & Greg. I am a subscriber to your channel from Scotland . The more and more I'm watching you 2 guy's work the more and more I'm amazed at your attention to detail in the work you do BEST work I have ever seen.
I love your convo about always evolving as builders as new methods and materials become available. As an old youth leader in my church growing up told us "You quit learning the day after you die."
Hi dude I'm a carpenter too but where I live at we work a little different but man do I learn from you . I really consider you a teacher I love watching your videos god bless keep up your good work.
Let the sunshine in!!!!!This project is coming along very nice.Kyle and Greg you are doing a great job. The whole process has been a fantastic build. Thanks for sharing.☺️☺️☺️👍👍👍👍
Kyle, you may want to try to lay the tape down with a brush first to make it wrinkles free, and then the squeegee. This channel has been inspirational to build on my own a structural glazing roof and in changing the roof asphalt felt and replace all the broken clay tiles of my old house and installing all the metal flashings following your detailed descriptions. Even get me making videos of it. Keep them coming.
Nice to see your parter being aware as you were cutting windows up top while he was loading a window at the bottom. Then he’s nice enough to blow you when he gets to the top. Build is really coming together 👍🏻
Having spent 12 hours a day inside a warehouse-style building, with no windows, I know what the introduction of natural light means. Big day for you guys. Looking good.
Wow. What a difference. The lead time for windows has been ridiculous for a long time. My supplier is also the manufacturer and they don't see it getting any better.
Kyle, Greg, you guys build every barndominium like you're building it for a rich king that requires your very best or you've had it! I love that quality and precision of work. God bless, and stay safe, men!
@@RRBuildings I believe you do, Kyle. By the way, that stretchable tape around the windows is pretty nice. I will try and obtain that when I reside my home.
Just found you today, watching your very precise work. Then you mention Stillman valley and I realized that's near me I'm in Rockford Illinois. Cool to find an excellent builder on video here!
All I have to say is I wish more contractors were on YT. Even if you can't show the entire build (too time consuming), you could at least get an idea of their work, if you're looking for good, honest, contractor. It's so frustrating, especially when your job is on the border of another state, and the closest city is in that other state (I'm in CA. The closest city is Yuma AZ). Really enjoying watching the build... just wish it was mine😏 ❤️🌵☀️⛈️🌈☮️🐎
Thank you for all the time you put into sharing such in depth knowledge and for having a great personality! Your a great role model for what a man can be good sir!
Unbelievable quality of work and attention to detail 👍 I think silicon was being used for years as the only seal for windows but now with the invention of the tape it just gets used as habit. Hear in the UK we can still replace windows with only silicon as the final seal, keep up the good work.
Good Morning Kyle & Greg! I look forward to each new episode, & am sitting down to watch this one! I’m sure it’s as good as all the rest, and I already can’t wait for the next one! Quality Sells Itself, and Knowledgeable Customers are Willing To Pay for Quality! Great Job As Always! ☮️
I believe the silicon acts as a glue and draft seal, as well as stopping moisture between the surfaces. Then again with the spray foam filling the cavity which would act as both a draft excluder and moisture barrier you do bring up a great point. Having a layered approach to the construction only adds to the lifetime of the product. Mind you as most windows are rated for 25-30 year warranty (lifespan) most likely they would be replaced long before serious damage could be performed to the structure by not having a silicon seal.
The window tape waterproofs the opening around the window cutout in your framing, the silicone is what actually seals the window to the building. If anything the silicone is a very important part because it is what adheres and bonds the window to the structure. The tape doesnt really do anything to seal the window opening, it only protects framing/osb from water.
Actually the sealant is not necessary at the flange and many window manufacturers out there will not warranty the window if you do it. The window unit should be air sealed at the interior to the WRB for air movement control and continuity of the system but the tape wasn't applied properly and I can guaranty the window mull was not requested certified from Pella which makes this instal a D-
Not about windows - but I love this building style. I am curious about ventilation though. I just haven't seen details of you talking about the end air seal, fresh air intake and if there's any tricks you use to reduce stack effect - all the heat being by the ceiling? Maybe a good video topic? Love your work and how much info you give!
Awesome who don’t like LOTS of Windows..👍🏼👍🏼 And Quality ones as well . 👍🏼👍🏼 AWESOME VIDEO as Always Kyle 👊🏼👊🏼👍🏼👍🏼👊🏼👊🏼 You build some amazing buildings friend 👍🏼👍🏼👊🏼👊🏼
My son works for Marvin Windows and when we built 2.5 years ago we ordered our windows (all custom) and 3 days later they were on a truck and delivered 2 days after that…. He shared lead times now are minimally 12 to 16 weeks but mainly due to labor shortage and distribution challenges. Project is looking great!
Y'all rock. I get a lot of flack at work for trying to imitate the best in the world. A lot of it comes from what y'all do! I'm not trying to mimick the goons i work with and i think that ruffles their feathers haha 💪💪💪💪💪⚒️⚒️⚒️⚒️⚒️
The installation from the Windows, very Interesting then Your Workt with the Black Insulating Tape, and this is very good for the not desired Air draft. Have this not to See in m, my surrounding. Always goo Videos Greeting 🇦🇹
Hey Kyle, great job you guys! Been enjoying the build, my wife keeps asking me what the floor looks like. Would you able to add a generic thumb nail, of the floor plan to your plan offering? Keep up the GREAT WORK!
Lovely windows well worth the wait. We have mostly one style of window where I live. The design of which is classed as universal. One fits all approach. So of course it is a total compromise and doesn't really work on anything other than face brick. The most common is a sliding window design that to meet standard only has to withstand a given amount of simulated driving rain. Above this amount the excess water pours into the house all along the bottom sill as the drain holes don't cope. It would be really nice to have a choice and a much better design but every window company in my area produces pretty much the same crap. Even more disheartening is they believe they are quality windows. I doubt you would even fit them but I have no choice.
Now that’s how you set windows. I wish our company had or used a scissor lift. Good work. You’re using the Dewalt roofer to shoot those in right? I’ve thought about using it.
