I own a bass, as well as bass guitars. My bass has gut strings on it, they won't work on a bass guitar. If your bass is of a guitar design it is a bass guitar. Some people just amaze me that they know how to breathe with out being reminded. Beautiful work as usual, I told a friend about the coffee guitar from years past and he didn't believe me. I had to force him to watch!
Honestly, I've run out of superlatives for your builds. It's always such a treat to watch all of them go from concept to final product to the sweet, sweet demos at the conclusion. Thank you for sharing these with us, and I look forward to more in 2024 and beyond.
I have no idea how to play guitar but I want to buy one of your works so in 20 years I can say I have an original burls art guitar and I have been subscribed since the first colored pencil.
That tele at the end was pretty! It looked like bright stars or fireflies in an evening sky above a darkened city skyline! Also, loved the little details you did on this bass like the penil end dot inlays, the just minor flavor touch of pencil on the headstock tip, solid touches. That tele though.... it resonated with me.
Just gorgeous. So happy you finally did a bass. I think most of us would kill for a bass that unique. Thanks for putting the time-stamp. I've always wondered how long it took.
Your videos are really inspiring. I've always wanted to get into building my own guitars and basses and watching you makes me feel like I have the power to get there. Always look forward to seeing your next build.
You are truly a master luthier guitar Builder I really enjoy your videos thank you I wish you would show more I know you only have enough time to do as many as you can but I really enjoy them thank you good luck and God bless
You continue to amaze me, sir. Truly. Watching your first build with colored pencils I never would have thought that I’d like the potential result. And in builds by others maybe I wouldn’t have. But your’s are always really interesting. I like that you were less linear this time & used the ‘lines’ in different layouts. Again… you continue to amaze. Well done! 👍🏼 I’m certain there’s an understanding to be had here that I’m clearly missing… but the effectiveness of the ‘antenna’ that was inadvertently made is only more amazing that it is down to a simple grounding error. That’s always boggled my mind. Primarily because having grown up in the age of ‘rabbit ear’ antennas rather than digital cabling, even in the most perfect of conditions, we never had the reception clarity that this bass produced. Not even once. LOL
i don’t play guitar or anything but i’ve been subscribed for years now and you make my absolute favorite videos on youtube i love your demos and the way you explain the building process
Come for the guitar builds, stay for the demos at the end! New subscriber from Australia here - absolutely in awe of your talents as a craftsman and a musician!
Gorgeous work. I love the little extra touches like the colored pencil inlay going the other way. I'm not super into the shape, but appreciate how the shape plays into the theme too. Wonderful all around.
Amazing, I love all your builds but this one is definitely my favorite and your methodology’s have gone uber next level. I would absolutely buy it if I could but I really hope it winds up gracing many a stage by a talented musician for many to appreciate.
Tbh the neck stole the show for me. That flame maple looks incredible and the headstock design is perfect. I’m amazed by the quality of your work every time.
Nice job! I play and build guitars too. Thanks for sharing some of your techniques! The inserts and bolts along with the aluminum bushings in the neck pocket looks like a great idea! So does the hardwood dowels for bridge mounting. I may try these in my next build. The guitar looks killer!
So... I don't know anything about guitars, so that was new to me. But the craftsmanship and detail, plus the video itself with great angles and narration, is all excellent. Thank you.
I once had a Boss Distortion pedal (back in the 90s) that could pick up Japanese radio. When you mix that with a flanger, it comes out crazy. Awesome job
Figured 100 bucks an hour for the price of the guitar felt reasonable to offset materials and other related costs, as well as obviously to properly compensate the work and craftsmanship that goes into this. Needless to say the price on your site feels very reasonable. Not shocking that pretty much everything has been sold. You have no idea how tempting that tele is...
A radio bass would be cool. Once you're done with one you can switch to the other. Over all beautiful bass and you're an artist at your craft. Great work.
This turned out so awesome! In my honest opinion you can see such growth in the process and making of the guitars over the years. And that's saying a lot cause even the very first ones were incredibly cool. This is so dope, good job man, keep doing what you love
Great job!!! I never would have thought to use colored pencils for a guitar body. I really like how you cut the blanks to fan out instead of doing a straight run.
This was truly awesome man. I think my favorite of yours so far. I love the pencils in the headstock! I always wanted to be a luthier. I want to build one someday myself!
just do it! I've wanted to build a guitar for years but for whatever reason never did. Several months ago I was talking with a friend of mine about those things that we've wanted to do, but always seem to just put them off and not do them. So we challenged each other to choose one of those projects and actually do it. We are checking in with each other once a month with a kind of show and tell. That gave me the accountability to actually begin my guitar build. I'm loving it. So glad I finally started. But as a noob, I'm taking it slow.
I love your videos, you inspired me to make a custom 3D printed Flying V body last year and I just finished it in October. So happy with how it came out and wouldn’t have been able to do it without seeing your videos.
I don’t play guitar, am not musical in the slightest… but you sir make a damn good video, and good woodworking as well! I didn’t realize I was ten minutes into this video and all of a sudden I was struck with the thought “wow, this is a great video” especially the fact that you can get lost in the video ten mins in without even checking how much is left, or flipping to the next video. Well done sir! Well done!
My high school had a radio station in the back of the building, and when I was in guitar class this one amp I would use would pick up the radio whenever I would stop playing.
