1:06 I had BC0303 280deg 11.48mm lift cams on my daily Supra 6spd GT4708 and it fucking loved it, also made an awesome racket with the os giken R4C clutch

I lol at how people posting useless crap in the comments. This video is great as it shows no bull hub dyno figures and boost curves when doing a rear housing upgrade on a turbo etc.

unpopular opinion, that dyno sheet does look lazy (like stated in the video) i think the dyno chart before the turbo change looked more drivable (on the garret 42r) - still unreal machine, props to the tuner and the builder.

That is the trade-off to get closer to 1:1 backpressure. The car wouldn't make 1,000 whp with the rear housing that was on it. They also changed the cams, I don't know which made the biggest difference but it makes 110 whp more than it did previously.

I made a very laggy 840kw with the g40-1150. Switched to an efr 9174 to make a very responsive 714kw. Difference is night and day. Now I have better than stock response

​​​@@trancenergy09 3.4L stroker, 2mm.oversized valves, 272 cams, non vvti, 1.06 vband on the g40-1150. And 1.05 split pulse t4 on the EFR. I did not enjoy over 1000hp at all, i could count to 3 after planting my foot before the power would hit with the g40, even over 6000rpm. Now the power is on hard by the time my foot hits the floor even at 4000rpm. I make over 300kw at 3000rpm and 480kw at 4000rpm, peak power at 5500rpm and i hold it until 7600rpm where i lose close to 12kw by 8500rpm. The g40 was bonkers at 7500rpm where it made peak power, but anything before that was me just yelling at it gogogogo. Frustrating. Im not a fan of big turbos but i was told it was a responsive turbo. I much prefer 700kw response.

17:31 I would have made that wastegate entry point onto the exhaust more to the right where that 90 deg bend just before that V-band clamp and introduce that wastegate stream parallel to that catback pipe ...

:33 Thats how they get 2k hp from a 3L or 3.4L from that 2JZ block. 11:1 compression pistons with Ethanol ONE 117 octane fuel. The BMW Fake Supra was 11:1 compression when 1st launched and started to blow the engines on 93 octane so they dropped the compression to 10:2

16:00 I do NOT like the open wastegate scream. Its nasty and i hate it. Mine is plumbed back into the exhaust stream at a 45 deg angle to minimize the entry angle. You WILL loose power IF you do the entry angle wrong. Lots of people do a 90 deg entry and that will DEF cause turbulence in the exhaust stream which will affect the turbo's spool which affects hp ...

Can you use the VVTI settings to spool the turbo faster, then change them back on the top end for power, or is that too much to ask

The vvti will only help increase low rpm air flow. The bigger of a cam you put in the less effective it is, but it still helps a bit. Power above 5000rpm generally doesn't change with vvti or not

High compression turbo engines emotionally still retains that wonderful sound. Unlike the majority of turbo cars with that ugly "Drain pipe sound" after those cars have been fitted with down pipes and induction kits, like the golf GTIs and Rs and Mazda speed turbo cars. I know turbo cars are faster but the sound puts me off alot. Road cars must engaging emotionally (vocally)and technically the two philosophies should be combined. Honda Type rs, Ferraris, high compression GTRs and Supras, v8s and motorcycles are true examples of this fact.

I don't think so, it need extra boxes for more than one EGT or WB02. Car has a PDM as well.

Yeah That's what i thought, Cheers for the reply, gonna get a Emtron KV12 or Motec equivalent, Rather pay 3.5K for a ecu that can handle what is needed without paying a extra 3K for expansions! Again Thanks for the reply :D

@@BUZDRIFT yeah buy something that is as universal and feature-packed as possible so you always have a suitable ECU ready in the future. Not much point in saving on initial purchase when you get an inferior ECU that is not as future proof for whatever you want to do years later.

2jz are insane engine best six out there at moment for performance I'm Ford guy love me e series engine to au never been interested in barra.there good engine but not for me. Peace

Why not are you anti-Anglo engineering or something? Barra is an interesting engine, durable and has a displacement advantage over most of its competition. It doesn't take that much to double the output of a OE turbo Barra.

Massively impressed and loved the build, but stock valves and valve springs??? 9000rpm?!? In the near future .... I wouldn’t advice it .... 8500rpm is even insane on stock valve train but hey ....... 😳 awesome car though and the tuner/builder is awesome! Great vid guys! We need to see this on the road flying along ❤️🙌

@@brentonwood5464 considering I’m building a 1100-1300bhp right now and I have a massively build head based off 2JZ experts like Jay Meagher from Real Street Performance advising me to at least go with beehive springs or dual valve springs for anywhere near 8500ish rpm which is all I’m going for I’d be real careful on a stock valve train at anything north of even 8000rpm let alone 8500-9000rpm

For a street car that much power is only a bragging number, You'd never be able to use that much top end power, It's only the low end torque that improves a street car .

your not wrong, 300kw at 5500 rpm is lazy AF considering at 5500 rpm the race is over on the street, but still impressive, would love to be in the passenger seat when it hits 7000rpm.

All three of you need to learn how to drive. How is this lazy? What you guys are saying i what Uncle Tony said recently in a live stream, most enthusiast are interested in 2500-4000 rpm. There is no point to racing guys on the street with 400 hp when you have 1100 hp at your disposal. When my Neon SRT-4 made nearly 400 whp I didn't race anybody. One time I left it in 5th and out pulled a Diesel Duramax when he thought his sh*t bad with his Bullydog tuner box, not a stock turbo SRT-4 homie, plus it ran mid 12's on the stock turbo. While on the stock turbo a Monte Carlo SS Supercharged followed me onto the freeway on the way home. He pulled up next to me and wouldn't speed up. I was in the mood, so I dropped down to 4th, he honked his horn and when I went I never saw him again.... My point is when you make that kind of power just like Pedro does on the Baltic Supra channel his car made 1200 whp, which he drives on the street. This car if he took you guys seriously you wouldn't stand a chance, 5000 rpm launch on the 2 step belching flame out the exhaust, 20+psi on the 2 step, it would pull the wheels off the ground and leave you in the dust.
