That is why a 2J is a badass, it will not die and makes all of this power out of around 3 liters. I just love to listen to them go. It is like it dumps everything inside the engine out of the exhaust when it makes full power! I love it!
the reason the 2JZ can do it is because its a very old engine and from time to time Toyota just made little adjustments for durability over time . Same as BMW did with the 6 banger engines. BMW sold 2000s 6cylinders cars but it was 1970s blocks
@@alexandervolte8240 Yes, I am look how long the cosworth lasted. Then the innovation from other manufacturers began. The subaru branded engine was a development piece for someone. Lots of cool innovation happened before regulations stopped any innovation and development.
I'm wondering when we are going to see a car on the dyno with the new FT700 Vision and the new FT Nano Pro and any other new products that Fuel Tech has come out with so we get to see in real time what all their new products can do and all the new features that they have over the older products
Wow technology has become a long way in the last 20 yrs. I told everyone at the track 20ty some yrs ago, if they ever get turbos to work that will be the future. Im going with you all on my next build, which is in the process right now..
This is Billet custom built engine block, which is very VERY different design than original factory built 2JZ ! Nothing there is Toyota or in 2JZ specs . Most Billet blocks have no Water cooling passages , only have for oil and that is it. Thickness of walls, materials used, reinforcements and supports for crankshaft, overall design, engine displacement ... Everything is much different and completely changed (designed by these guys), basically it is their own product. That is reality !
@@svinche2 it's still a 2J. Lol. Barra has billet blocks too so no excuses. By the way ekanoo racing made 2k hp on stock Iron block 2J. Take a seat buddy.
@@RecklessLilJ VW 2.0 16V AP 4 banger from Brasil / Argentina make 1500whp on stock block . 2.2 Audi inline 5 from Norway / Sweden also pushed 1500-1700 whp from factory block. RB 26DETT from Skyline GTR also are able to push 1500+ whp from stock block. Etc. But Billet block whatever you name it, is a 2JZ in a same way like you call it a K series block but with 6 cylinders. People like you will believe it ! I saw K series 4 cyl. billet blocks with 5 liter of displacement that are practically a cube with holes and they name it a K engine :P Point is that only 2JZ from factory is a 2JZ, or Barra stock block is Bara! Billet blocks are something else, completely unrelated !!!
Great to see Jorge Lazcano’s name still being recognized at the top of this sport, long after he has passed. To Omar Mateo and others, great job on honoring your mentor Lazcano on building these badass power plants from all the knowledge he imparted into y’all. RIP Georgie Lazcano
It's crazy to see all the Import guys get away from the compound turbo setup and go to spraying nitrous into the charge pipe while the car is on the trans brake to get them big turbos to spool and just running a big single turbo instead of the compound turbo setup or running twin turbos and the real crazy part is you that setup more on the 2JZ engine than you do any other engine setup atleast in my opinion and in my experience and it's really crazy that they are running a stock cast head instead of running a billet head especially since they went all out on every other part of the car and the fact they have a better chance of splitting the cast head over a billet head especially at that horsepower they are making but other than that I don't see why they couldn't make a run at the ¼mile record with that car once they get everything dialed in especially with Steve Petty tuning it for them and I would love to see that car compete against the big V8's in PDRA Pro Boost or in the NHRA
The Grannas Racing Supra has gone back to compound turbo now, will be interesting to see if more people follow them or if they all stick with the nitrous.
Imagine Fueltech Australia applying this madness to the humble Barra engine ( if they haven't already ) Also cool to see Mainline Dynamometers in this great facility ( Aussie-made too 😉✌🏾 )
omg i love how its sound the 2jz if its 450hp to 3000 every start up at low rpm sound the same love it its like hidden beast push the throttle and the beast will show up
Increasing the bore spacing on V8's is beneficial in racing, I wonder when they'll try the same to four and six cylinder inline import engines now that billet blocks/ heads are more common.
Could also be loose cam gear bolt for the lock phasers . Need I ultra high level of OCD in this type of career with a lot of moving parts. Basically like a watch maker for Patek Philip $7million+ usd. Both need high degree levels of OCD. Forever ❤ Motorsports. EVs are cool, just like fiddling with a life size RC race car. However ICE Motorsports will always be my ❤. Awesome YT channel as always FuelTech ❤
I'd like to see more of 2JZ's big brother, the big block IL6 1FZ-FE 4.5lt engine get further developed. Anyone know why the 2JZ is used in favor over the 1FZ-FE, which potentially should make easier power & more torque over the 2JZ when running these type of high power figures? Is it just the development holding it back or the size/weight? Awesome video BTW & newly subbed, cheers.
I think it's because the 2jz is more popular and a lot of technology has been developed for this engine. If you use another machine, the development will take a long time, because you have to start from zero again.
John Mihovetz made over 3,000 hp @ Westech dyno a decade ago with a prepped oe cast 4.6 4V, oe timing components and factory Kellogg crank. This doesn't embarrass anything.
Your kidding right? Puts them to shame? Lol that's not even a real 2jz. There big block V8s suking 40psi making 12,000hp. Your kidding yourself guy. Look at Top fuel guy.
Has anyone had luck putting a big screw on a billet 2JZ? And why the stock head? I'm sure there are billet heads available? Quite an achievement but I bet 4000 whp is available if they can keep it together and make power at 12,000 plus!!
