A year or so ago I crashed my old passat (which was completely stock) and was on the hunt for a new one. I found this 2.0 tdi diesel VW passat highline for £1350 but it was a bit ugly, and had a few issues.
Over 6 episodes, we fixed it up, made it look pretty and now it's finished we've crammed all that footage into one video.
Nothing crazy, but this proves you can have a nice reliable good looking daily for pretty cheap.

One of the reasons why i love vw, cause it’s like a lego for adults . It’s very satisfying to repair old/used vw , and give to it second live .

I got a b7 passat estate as my 1st car its slow as s*** and i love it, people say errr why you got a grandad car and why an estate but us few people know that the passat is king, im goling to do some oem+ stuff in the future 👍

I’ve got a B6 estate DSG (170hp PD) and it’s great. Only issue I’m currently having is the balance shaft and hex key which is a weak point on these. Old one didn’t fail, It was done for precaution so not sure if it wasn’t fitted right or something else but oil pressure light came up on the dash about a week after fitting new one and blew the turbo. So would recommend people who own the B6 to get it done and someone who knows what they’re doing. It also affected early common rail engines too.

I don't. They not as nice as the previous generation b5.5 because they based on the Golf platform whereas the B5.5 was based on the Audi A4 / A6.

@@Blackmamba12345 A4/A6 platform is awful though. The Golf platforms are so much easier to work on, especially when it comes to suspension work.

I got in January my first car, a Passat B6 2.0TDI 170hp (Engine code:CBBB) R-line model. It's amazing, I recommend it to everybody that wants a spacious good looking wagon (not really a fan of the sedan tbf), it has a good interior quality, strong engine that you can rely on in my case and pretty powerful for a diesel engine in my opinion, it's a good car, can be fun if you want to (it will be more fun after stage 1 :D)

Amazing cars, I love Passat's I got one myself in the past the B7 and I loved that baby. I was so sad when I had to sell it. No matter how many miles you put on it, as long you do the regular service it's flowless.

I've got a 2010 170bhp model. If you can keep short journeys to a bare minimum (as few cold starts as possible), these cars will look after you very well.

Got the same door handle issue, it's the aluminium door handle carrier thats broken so I've just ordered the part for £7.30, thought I was going to have to order the whole unit but found the part on it's own.

I hope you solved right rear door - even on video they look darker. I also recommend to paint black door edge trims to car color. Otherwise beautiful car, i also have B6 for 12 years now and i still love it.

I have an 06 tdi sport 140 with the dsg gearbox absolutely brilliant cars and for anyone that doesn't know and likes safety the Passat come with airbags on every pillar something that was extras on both the Audi A4 and Skoda Octavia (only the Laurent and Klement has it as standard) 140hp and 256 Ib of torque as standard on the sport. It goes but I want to get a 3.2 fsi 4 motion (around 250 hp but I want to put a turbo on)

I have one of these and wish I had the ability to ''restore'' it to it's former glory. But I don't know where to start, front grill is cracked, some rust on the back left wing, christmas tree on the dashboard, driver window doesn't work, punctured washer reservoir, etc. She has good bones though, engine and turbo still work like new.

What audio unit did you put in? Any probs with the installation? What brand of coilovers did you put in and do you think I can get onl 10-20 mm lower with them. I don't want to go real low with them as roads around here are a bit dodgy. Thanks for posting as I'm doing similar with my b6. Now to address that P0401rgr code

See this is my kind of build. Its not over the top, boy racer aero that does nothing but create drag. The mods make the car look better grounded, and the updated suspension and wider track will have noticeable benefits.

wait a moment was the diesel filter black? you should look up the vaccumpump on the right side of the engine , its possible that its leaking , if it starts smoking or "burn oil" it could be damedged (dont buy one from pierburg) none the less awsome build , i would also add the skyline mod ;D

Wasn't a big fan of the B6 until I saw someone make a video on the R36 (didn't know it was a thing), two months later I bought the lowest mileage one for sale!

@@djole_belic I picked mine up just under 12 months ago for £14,995, pretty high price but it had the usual FSH and had only done 46,000 miles, the next lowest mileage was 82,000!

Mate beware of the service history, a PD 140 hp 2.0 tdi can get unreliable and expensive real quick

@@MK5GolfTDI Yeah bro i mean newer dsg arent that bad but mine is already starting fell apart after 250k km, already payed like 7k in repairs, turbo, egr, dpf, everything... and the turbo is acting up again also.
