Hello, I like your video. However, I think you should have included the price of the components you used as well as the total cost it took to make the build. It would have been a far more interesting and useful video in my opinion.
Thank you for this so much. Pretty much will be replicating this entire setup. I shoot a lot of music videos and noticed my freehand work when it's not on a gimbal can get kind of shaky, I realized it's due to not having a setup like this. Allows you to still be free but have control. Awesome and thanks again!!
Hey man, lovely setup! I was looking for a way to adapt my XT-20 for video use as the next project I have is going to be handheld. Got lot's of inspiraton from your rig and the cage is on it's way. I have to say, For now just slotting the battery clamp into the bottom receiver of the camera is the most barebones thing I could think of in order to achieve the extended battery life and adding that little bit of extra weight! footage is already more smooth ^^
Yes it is an overkill! .. But I did the same thing lol. I got the exactly the same setup as yours. X-S10 and all. I just wish that I had 4k 60fps. Got X-S10 instead of X-T4 because of its smaller size, but now it's a gigantic monstrosity with all the small rig setups.😂
It's like 20 times bigger than just the stock kit setup! Haha! It was fun project but I don't actually see myself constantly bringing it around as the full build. I wish I could see yours!
Thanks for this video! Things are explained really well and doing your build makes me wanna rig up my xt-3. It's probably an overkill for shooting family videos but hey, it's a cool thing to build. Got yourself a new sub!
Hey Mike thanks for stopping by! I actually think the XT3 would be better to rig up than the XS10 on this video. But for sure the rig is overkill for family videos but is definitely a conversation starter during gatherings 😆cheers man!
I love this camera but with kit lens it costs the same or more than the X-T4 🤷🏻♂️ I love my X-T3 but the ibis and new processor is making it a possible replacement
Heya Cy! The PT5 is good enough for what I need it for. It's definitely no Atomos but I just needed a monitor to check my framing and I just trust the Fuji with the colors. It doesn't have much HDMI latency too. Good value for money for my purposes I think!
hey, this is amazing, I might replicate the whole rig but before that, I got a question, would you recommend getting a gimbal or doing this rig? Which one would have more stability, especially if I'm using a lens with no built-in stability, would this rig still be as steady as a gimbal?
heya! for stability you would still want a gimbal. this setup still has a lot of handshake, gimbals would generally remove that while this kind of rig just makes it more pleasing and less jittery.
Great video. I made a video similar but, you took it to a further level. You made it look awesome . What do you think about a focus wheel on your rails?
The focus wheel is definitely something I'm looking into! I'm thinking of getting the focus wheel along with a proper cinema prime lens. I'll definitely be updating the channel when I am able to play around with that setup!
Since you’re building the small rig, I assume this footage is from the XA-7? Thinking about getting the X-S10 upgrading from XT200, would you suggest getting it with the 18-55 too? Or Am I good with the 15-45 3.5-5.6?
Good eye! Yes I shot this on the A7. I personally like the 18-55 over the 15-45 just because I like the physical zoom rings over the power zoom mechanism of the 15-45. The wider aperture of the 18-55 is also quite noticeable. That being said, I used to own the 15-45 and I regret letting it go. There are things I miss such as the 15mm wide end and also the super compact form factor. (The 18-55 is like three times bigger.) I hope this helps!
@@janjericsantos I think the XT200 is a great photo camera! but for video I would go with the XS10 or the XT4, if you could wait, I am hearing a lot of good things about the rumored XH2. I'd even go for a used XH1 too. Happy shooting and looking forward to your future videos!
I've been shooting with the xc15-45mm recently. Now, I prefer the 15-45mm... Actually used to own the 18-55mm. And trust me, sharpness difference is not what you'd expect. I have a video showing how the 15-45mm is actually sharper in some apertures and focal distance. That's why I sold the 18-55 got the 15-45 and had left over to get another lens! The XF50mm f2 WR.
Nope! The lens mount is still quite accessible and the lens can be changed out quite easily. Only the matte box needs to be taken off to change lenses. Good question!
A dummy battery is a plastic container that has the size, shape and connections of an original Sony, Canon, Fuji etc. battery but doesn't have any battery cells. Instead, the dummy battery comes with a cable that connects the camera directly to a power bank or a larger battery (for example, V-mount batteries). The dummy battery might include a bit of electronics for converting the voltage.
Hola !!
Hi bro, By the way, I am also a content creator who uses an XS10 as my A Cam. Hindi po ba naggasgas yung body ng xs10 sa rig? Thank you for this video!🤙
Thank you for pointing this out!! The base-plate can actually be perfectly aligned just enough for the battery door to be opened. Its very tight but it is doable!
Yes definitely! As long as you have the proper cage for it. There are some universal ones. I am using a Fuji X-A7 same body type as the A3, and I dont think you can rig it up too much, there is definitely a lot you can put. The monitor and the microphone are definitely riggable to that.
Hey yes headphones are supposed to be connected through USB C through the camera but the monitor should also have a headphone jack with audio fed from HDMI
hey hi no, I don't have a cable clamp since I intentionally chose shorter cables for all my connections. I imagine a longer HDMI cable might need the cable clamp though
@@aransamson Hello again. I found SmallRig MD2418. I tried it and it was very successful. It does not compress, but takes the weight tension created by the cable from the hdmi or usb-c port. I use it with both hdmi and tethering cables. I just bought it yesterday :) thanks.
Dude... nice rig... but come on man. WHO has a 16-55 laying around like you?! LOL You pull that thing out like, 'oh you should use this lens instead'... I'm like: I don't have it, or the budget for it. SIGH But honestly it is a sweet setup. I personally downgraded from the xf18-55 to the xc15-45. Haven't lost any image quality whatsoever. Personally I feel that the xc lens has better focusing than the xf zoom. GO FIGURE. LOL
