I’m actually going to build a completely new one before September. I’ve had a lot of interest in it so I’ll be doing a more detailed video series on it for sure.

VERY NICE build!!! I was wondering how you were going to anchor it down but I see now. You could sell a lot of those for sure! If your trucks comes with a goose-neck prep package. you could do what Anderson does with their hitch and make the rack attaches to the truck. That was it is secured in placed. Looking into fabricating my own rack.
I do have the 5th wheel prep package. I have a 25k B&W hitch plate that I thought about using on my new rack. (Building soon. Stay tuned. It’s going to be next-level)
Great job on the rack! Your very talented at many things! Yes I’m interested in the tools u used to build it . Here in Arizona we are able to make our side x sides street legal. The desert is about a 1/4 mile from my house we ride out there all the time
Thanks, Don! I think there are only a few rural areas of Oregon you cab license them. But like I mentioned, our condo is right at the entrance to the dunes.
@@NorthwestSawyer I do when I can! I look at it as a pay now or pay later equation. I'm choosing to work a lot now while I have a lot of earning power so that I can enjoy retirement and not have to worry later. As long as I don't drop dead at an early age it'll pay off in the long run!

Nice! You can take out when not in use and drive wheeler up and service anything under it. With I'd known about this when I had similar setup... you may just quit day job yet and enjoy life!!
Appreciate the skill and ingenuity it took to build the rack. Look forward to seeing some more about the tools to build it (large radius tube bender) rather than the more common small radius bender 4”-6”. Also would like to know was that DOM, HREW, wall thickness and diameter. Investigation suggestion: other piggy back rack user have commented that tie downs at the wheels with wheel capture straps or wheel lasso strap with ratchet provide a better driving experience in the truck. In that case you could weld some tabs near wheel location for easy strapping points. Firestone airbags right? How much pressure did it require to level out the load?
Great questions! The tube was not DOM and I believe I used .095 wall tubing. I do have airbags with an onboard compressor but found that adding air lifted the factory overload springs off of their stops and made the truck less stable. With no air in the bags it was easy to forget it was up there. I thought about wheels straps and may put them on the next version I plan to build this winter which I’ll do a better job of documenting. With my new Turbo S, the suspension doesn’t seem as soft with the key off so you don’t get a lot of movement with the way I’ve been strapping it down. It would certainly be easier to just strap the wheels though.

@@Z-Bart this might sound silly but have you considered deflating the tires a bunch to make it fit? Or perhaps even going the next step in buying a smaller set of rims for the front to the back and then changing them when you're on site? Kind of like monster trucks put on tiny little tractor tires to put them in trailers when they don't have the big ridiculous tires on

That’s .120 wall 1 3/4”. The bender is a JD squared model 32. I did the tube rolling with a Swag Offroad “Hulk” tube roller. I’ve since built one out of 2” square tube that personally I think looks better.
Brother, Be safe. i don't know how you attached that rack into the bed of the truck, most are attached to the inside and the bed rail which add all kinds of support for that 2000 lb machine sitting up on 10 pieces of pipe welded together. It looks Cool as all get out though!
It’s not attached to the truck at all😬. It fits in the bed with no room to slide. I have 6 500# straps running from the bed to the RZR. We drove over 200 miles without the slightest issue. We did get a lot of looks😎
I need a custom overhead rack for my 2seat razor. It must be installed on a 16’ flatbed trailer. This way I can pin thr razor on top and my car under it

Just came across this, nice build. I have a swag roller and JD2 bender. I enjoy fabricating things, what size tubing did you use? and most importantly how does it feel going down the road, we have a bumper pool camper and I don't really want to purchase a toy hauler but we've got three young daughters so having the bathroom and other amenities is certainly nice.
Thank you, Tristan. I used .095 wall 1 3/4” tube. I’ve never pulled our 38’ camp trailer with it in but I did tie our 18’ boat and honestly have forgotten it was up there several times. It hauls really well above my dually.
I'm not a welder or a metal worker or a lumberjack but I do have an engineering degree and I can say without a doubt I am very impressed at this man I think you should definitely do a few videos about it, if you don't mind me asking did you just kind of copy some existing frames that were out there or sort of just fab yourself from scratch based on your own ideas of what you knew would work
1.75- .095 not DOM. It not heavy at all. I actually am building another one that has the SXS sitting farther forward because our new camp trailer has a short tongue and I had clearance issues. Other than that, I got a lot of compliments on how it looked.
Would be great to see that build. I’m confused looking at it lol. I will stick with wood. 🥴. Any problems you foresee with the height. I’m sure it’s short enough for main roads but places you would go with that is “off the beaten path” and was just wondering? Thanks for videos.
No one wants 2 see that side by side or that boat so u mize well just give them 2 me and though in the truck 4 good measure. I seen u did some fab work for the tractor in the past so I think adding more of ur fabrication work wood definitely add to the channel!
