for all the people in the comments saying "oh corona" on the paper at start that's the model name for the Xbox firmware and the motherboard it shipped with there are as follows. Xenon, zephyr,opus, falcon, jasper, trinity, corona. showing its a 2012 last gen variation

Hugh, Since the Xbox didn’t come with a Hard Drive. Try Installing an SSD inside it if you can. That would be a really cool project and you would have a fast Xbox 360 Slim

I wish these types of mods were available for the Xbox One. There was a whole modification community for the 360. Good ol’ days.

Very nice! I did something similar years ago with my 360. Clear body, clear fan/heatsink shroud, DVD top removed besides center strip, third party led back fans, 60mm top fan addition, 2 digital temp readouts on both the main heatsinks. Was a thing of beauty, now sits in storage 🤐

when you were at it, you could also change the termal paste

I have that same exact case on my Xbox 360 and it got me so excited. It's been around 5 years since I've modded my 360 for that, but I've had so many great memories on my 360.

I could only imagine how cool a PS4 would look with a transparent housing for the unit.

*I'm not hater, but...* 1. You almost broke one latch. (yes, i know that you changed whole case) 2. Why you don't change a thermal paste ? 3. Why you leave this controller black ? In my opinion transforming controller to transparent (easier than than console, and cheaper) is a must :D _I will be happy if you answer for my few questions :D_

Back three years later to watch again. I always loved transparent cases. First one was my Nokia 8146 in electric blue, and I put a flashing aerial on too.

seems a bit late to mention this, but the middle support plastic on the sides aren't actually melted, they do indeed just pop off like little clips and re-attach, that's how you'd access the other plastic clips for the outer piece

The dislikes on this video are because Hugh Jeffrey's is BOSS. And they can't handle his intelligence.

The top and bottom panels come off as one piece after removing the vents. You do NOT remove the plastic first and then pop the clips...

I'm a little surprised that you didn't replace the thermal paste, because god knows who and how played on that console. Anyway, great housing replacement/customization video!

when opening the top and bottom part at 3:06 you dont need to pull that hard, there's a little hole under the sticker and you can use a needle or something to pop that little bracket inside the console and it will come out easily

Those fused plastic fastening and various clips are there because it's cheaper to manufacture

You had the perfect opportunity to cut a window into the disc drive :D :P Looks sharp though. Just don't bang that case in any way, the ghost cases are fragile.

Should try and see if you can find a transparent DVD drive casing, they used too make them back in the original 360 days and they looked amazing

I’ve customized the same exact console and it was difficult but wasn’t bad at all, I didn’t break any clips or anything at all. This looks more complicated than what I remember

My advice, because it’s made of clear plastic the UV rays will eventually make it yellowed, so is keep it out of direct sunlight

I think I have the same model, and you don't even need a power button. You can start the device by pressing the "eject disc" button or if you have a paired controller you can just start that. To turn off you can go to settings or hold the xbox button on the controller

it looks great but you should have painted the chassis and modded the DVD drive so you could see the disk spinning while you were at it.

If you actually use a small flat head screwdriver, you can hold open the clips and pull it off, shine a light in the slots to see the clips and it should come off very easily

This brings back memories of the time I had to fix my xbox 360 and I found a dead white tail spider inside lmao.

Here I am thinking this video that popped up on my feed was from years ago... nope April 11th 2020 I made one of these Xbox's back when the slim was first released (early 2012). I sent out the plastic shell to my dc jack supplier that lived in shenzhen china and they took a little over a month to get the original and the finished product back to me. They didn't use perfectly clear plastic, it was more of a frosty look (like the original xbox clear edition that wasn't sold in the US). I wonder if Ghostcase just used their mold to create this, that's kind of how things go in China. Months after I sold that xbox you could find the kit on ebay. Looks good though, cut a hole in the dvd drive top so you can see the disc spinning. You can also add some lights in there for a cool effect.

I wouldve been the coolest kid in middle school with this.

you can just undo the antenna on the side and that will free the top panel, so you dont need to unclip the faceplate, it will just pop-out (im talking from experience sicne i disassembled my xbox 360 S several times, reason: Cleaning, Forgot screw, Another cleaning, Forgot plastic around fan and lastly New Thermal paste on processor)

I’m curious how leaving out that shielding affect the operation of the Xbox. I’m assuming that shooting was heat shielding. So it doesn’t get really hot now without the shielding? It looks cool. It really does.
