Great Job, I'm working on one as we speak. Any ideas on how to fix it to existing plasterboard ceiling. I've used MDF for the panel decent 8cm depth with supported edges. Was thinking hooks or button clips (industrial). What would you suggest. Thanks i-Handyman www.iassembly.co.uk

Hi Eric, nice video. So I’m doing my theater room and my setup is a bit different. I have rockwool safe and sound all across the walls and ceiling followed by resilient sound channel and 2 sheets of 5/8 Sheetrock on the walls but only a single layer of 5/8 on the ceiling. And I would like to follow your setup and install mdf star ceiling. Is this possible with resilient channels? My ceiling is about 24’ long but I have created soffit on all 4 sides for side lightening so I have about 18’-20’ in length and about 8’ wide. Is it possible to accomplish this without any sagging or cracks? Thanks and appreciate any help. Any tips or instructions would be appreciated!!

Whats the material you used to plug the optic fiber? The ceiling material.

Let me save you 30 minutes of your life: 1. Drill holes 2. Insert fiber strand w adhesive. 3. Cut to desired length. 4. PRESS On button.

Great job, but am I missing something...did you paint the underside (visible) of the panel, black?? Obviously one would want as much contrast as possible?? Maybe I missed the painting step or it wasn't shown. And if you did paint it, surely it would have been easier to perforate the material (from the visible side, for really clean holes), then paint, then insert the fiber, glue, and then clip the lengths? Much easier and cleaner than painting after the fact, over one's head?

have you used MDF or drywall? if it was mdf then how are finding with sound absorption in your room after it was completed.?

This is well easy but it would been more useful if you should have commented on what products you have used etc etc.

Nice! But I actually like the other side of the board better! Its looks like a tree like structure and if someone actually desighes it as so, its would look cool and a lot more of the light will then be captured and not waisted
