This video we go from picking up the front clip I bought to bending up tubes, welding them together and building an old school full tilt front end for the panel truck.

I enjoy seeing other people fabricate. I always learn something new seeing others people’s creative process. Nice job 👍🏻

Me too. It's amazing to see how easy it comes to some of these guys, the vision they have and the know how to get it done. I'll spend 2-3 hours a night watching all the different fabricators on the tube. What gets me is the fancy shops that have all the latest and greatest tools, and then there's the guy that can damn near do the same with a wire feed and a grinder.

That burned truck is cool. I would leave it just like that

I wanted a full flip front on my 56 F-100...one where you undo a fastener from each side inside the cab, and the whole front end slides forward , slightly upward at the front and then flips forward...so I didn't have to butcher the fenders by cutting them. Never got around to it LOL!

I really enjoyed your video, I am thinking about doing something on my 48 Chevrolet 1 1/2 ton . But I want to keep my inter fenders

Thanks! Maybe down the road I’ll end up putting some inner fenders on too. Just at this point it’s easier to work on everything without them.

The old panel truck is looking good! Nice progress! Are you going to put any kind of prop rod to hold the hood up in the event of a wind gust? Just a thought. The hood would hurt if it came down on you!
@TuquesNTires
@TuquesNTires Год назад
That’s a good idea! I’ll have to figure something like that out.

great job on the flip frontend ! have a question on the front end yall did , how high is it setting off frame .im doing a 55 car like this ?
@TuquesNTires
@TuquesNTires Год назад
So I think the front spreader bar that joins the two fenders together is sitting about a quarter inch above the frame. Mind you the frame section on this truck isn’t factory so that could change a few things.

Are you going to build inner fender panels or do you have some? I'm planning/hoping to do something similar with a 57 International but I have inner fender panels and I think I"m going to have to cut them along with the outer fender panels.
@TuquesNTires
@TuquesNTires Год назад
Well to be honest I wasn’t going to run inner fenders but if I did I’d probably try to reuse the old ones, the rad is going to stay with the frame so I’d probably just make the inner fenders stay with the frame and go from the fire wall to the rad and make them removable, I’ll try to explain it in a future video a little better.
@joeridley2015

What about the radiator and support?
@TuquesNTires
@TuquesNTires Год назад
I’ll end up building a support to hold the radiator that will stay with the frame but will clear the bars that hold the front end up.

I'm considering an s10 frame swap on a 58. The forums all say they're way too narrow, yours looks fine. What are your thoughts now that you've had some time with it?
@TuquesNTires
@TuquesNTires 8 месяцев назад
I still really love what I did with the frame, if I remember correctly I widened the s10 front section about 8”. But with it being wider it makes it easier for the exhaust and steering to be routed. If the panel truck wasn’t a budget build I probably would have just used a 70’s Camaro/nova front clip as it’s already width you’d want but I had the s10 one on hand.
