Mimic Panels for controlling model railways represent a real signal box control panel of course and the one built for Woodgate Crescent Station is just the same. I needed to replace a few parts yesterday and today it is ready for a check over and review.
The DLC System is the control system that I have developed for the Linleys Garden Railway. DLC stands for Decentralised Logic Control.

I was disappointed with the faulty sensors but by the end of the time I had outside I was pleased with what I had managed to do this weekend. Thanks again for your support and encouragement. Cheers, Warren :)

But Warren , there are no cables connected to the emergency stop switch ! Just kidding, thank you for showing your lovely railway to the public.

Well spotted with the missing cables for the stop switch. Just like the bell button slot this is a future development. It won't be just a power off switch as I want the trains to slow down and stop under control of the system. More programming to work out with that! cheers, Warren :)

Hi Warren. Did you ever dismantle those dodgy sensors to see what went wrong? Being reed switches in theory there is not much that can go wrong, I did wonder if they were rated for outdoor use or not and whether water had got inside and caused the issue? If moisture is getting inside and if it is the problem you could end up replacing units constantly which could be become a PITA as the railway expands. You might be better off making up your own units encapsulated in resin. Just a thought Richard

Hi Richard, nope, not dismantled them yet. I have kept them on my bench ready to open up. They are fully sealed units so can't see how water would have got inside them. Frost damage maybe?

Mind blowing! I'm using three car door locking motors for the points and the rest is RC😀😀👍🤞🙏😊💜💜

Yes!! I have tested using car locking motors. My best go with these is to pulse them twice at 10v. First pulse to shift and second pulse to check. I found full 12v caused too much shock and bounce. How do you do yours???? Warren.

@@Linleys I'm going to experiment at 6v using a DPDT momentary switch with a 12v (using a 12v motorcycle battery) to 6v step down power supply convertor. Although I've done auto electrics etc etc, most of this stuff has to be painting by numbers for me. I hope that helps🤞👍😊
