Beijinos e abraços,
Carissa, Iwan, Frankie & Albi
Carissa, Iwan & Frankie decided one night over a bottle of wine that moving from North Wales to Portugal would be a good idea. Within a month they were on the road to Portugal to find the perfect piece of land to call their new home. We picked up Albi the cat along the way. Subscribe to follow our journey as we turn an old stone barn into our home, and learn the ropes of looking after a piece of land to make an abundant garden and one day, our very own winery.

I think its imperative for the younger generation too learn as many skills too survive as they can!! I remember watching my grandfather doing gardening...but back then I didn't pay attention or wasn't interested in it!! Wish I did!! Now I wished my mother would teach me how to sew!! Even now she still refuses too teach me how to do it!! It makes me angry sometimes!!

Oh please don't burn the pretty logs. Use them in some sort of project that shows them off and maybe sell (if you don't fall in love with them). Seriously if you were to make me a couple coasters from that 1st log shown, then I would buy them and obviously pay postage for them. My late dad was a forester so would be a nice homage to him. Please consider this for me . As for rest of video I love your video's. Wish I had uncle Nick here. Love you guys x

First time I've seen a circular saw used to cut wood! But, it looks as if it's doing a fine job! Plus, it's safer than a chain saw and probably safer than an axe! Learned something here, thanks!

Djogo is a fantastic animal - such intelligence seems to shine through his eyes and his behaviour! Albi is the picture of pure contentment at 18:54, and at various other places, like licking Black Cat! Black Cat - whose name escapes me - is very handsome, Frankie is just great - running down to greet you when you return from your run and following you back to the camera is lovely. Oh, and Iwan is OK, I guess. (teasing, Iwan; don't shout at me!) I am delighted to learn floor tiling with all of you, from Fundi Nick.

New floor looks excellent! And Nick is a good teacher. For future reference, I've always found doing the grouting with a sturdy rubber glove is easier and quicker than trying to do it with a trowel or a sponge, and as you've found, it's best to sponge the thicker waste off the tiles while wet..! Now, I noticed Carissa made an apologetic comment about the shelving unit you had to move out of the kitchen, which clearly has no bracing across either the ends or the back. Bracing is essential on open rustic shelves! One solution would be to put a length of 2x1 or 3x1 diagonally across the space between the shelves. Another might be to use gussets at each of the 90deg angles in the corners under the shelves, or even simpler, over the top of the corner/joins. Essentially, look thru your scrap pile for some thin board. Plywood, particle board, whatever. Around 6mm is enough, but perhaps less in ply. Make up some right-angled triangular pieces with approx 100-150mm on either side of the right angle, and the hypotenuse whatever. If the shelves are a bit too ricketty, it will pay you to glue and nail or screw these on the external surface of the uprights and the shelves at the back. If you want to go fancy and 'joinery shop detail', you could make them exactly to fit under the front and back rails, and the vertical legs. Might need some sanding/grinding to make them fit 'exactly'. Point is, without bracing the shelves will always be 'ricketty' and threatening to fall apart. WITH proper gussets or bracing they will be sturdy, reliable and feel like 'furniture' not gimcrack..! Art is in the details...!! PS: Nice piece of art for Jasper! He will love it! PPS: The issue with the drop saw cutting out will be its high initial demand on the battery system. It's probably a 2400W draw, and I guess your little battery is not up to that continuously. Best to run it off the generator. But check the specs on the battery thing. And I mean the fine detail, as some of those portable power station things while rated for a decent wattage can't actually provide it in full when requested, say for the start up of a power saw.

Diego is able to lick the surgery site because his collar is to loose. It needs to be pulled forward so that the collar extends 3" + beyond the tip of his nose. Then tightened so he can't push it back. That's why the scarf is helping because it prevents the collar from moving back.
