I’ll keep it 18” tall and three half barrels long. Making them for cows. Great idea. Thank you

@farmalarm Nice build. I would just put a few bricks under the back lower rim of the stand which would angle the feeders lower in the front for them to reach. Great video!

Dig a few ruts in the ground to lower it for now.

Now Darryl you took that idea right out of my brain. LOL. Thanks buddy

Or you could use a timber the size of a railroad tie placed in front of the feeder to allow them to step up six to eight inches to accomplish the same thing.

Nice! If it’s cheap or free, I’m all about it! Dollar stores, Goodwill, trash/dumpster diving...ain’t no shame in my game! Repurpose or reuse. And if he can’t build it, well, I guess I haven’t found anything he hasn’t been able to fix/build. I find the materials, he does the work.

I used rebar one mine. Basically made a boxed frame from the rebar welded tabs to to keep the barrel secured. I went 16 inches for height works good!

Really nice feeder. I wish I could weld! I'm confused how instant travel works... one snap gets you to Orscheln's, but you can get back home without snapping? I've been snapping at the wrong times.
@FarmAlarm
@FarmAlarm 6 лет назад
Thanks mr. President. Oh wait sorry I seen your name said White House. I got confused. I learned how to weld when I was in grade school from an old Machinist. Instant travel is something easily achieved. Maybe I should do a tutorial on it. But you have to snap along with the Andy Griffith theme song.

Looks great just a note we have been able to get barrels like those free at local car was is what they get soap in and they have to dispose of them from time to time.

Use a wooden/ plastic crate or two to build the height you looking for now....I do not see the need to change anything since they grow so fast.....

Darn!! I only need help with the base since I have ZERO welding knowledge!!! I think I could pull off cutting the plastic barrel in half and bolting it together....but that metal base is a whole other story!

Tracy, put you a pallet down there. Close the gaps on the pallet so they don't step in the gaps.

Tracy, is that Rohn tower, about 5:45 into the video? (former amateur radio operator, here. Climbed a many of them as a young man.)
@FarmAlarm
@FarmAlarm 6 лет назад
Lol well it is a radio tower. My neighbor was throwing it in the trash. I gladly took it. Never know when you need to put something up in the air LOL

That's kind of what I was thinking. I was thinking maybe I could put some kind of a wind turbine generator on top of it
@PaulPetrea
@PaulPetrea 6 лет назад
As long as the wind in your area makes it worthwhile. If not, maybe a weather monitoring system? They can be pretty valuable, depending on natural disasters common in your region / area. How many sections, total?
@FarmAlarm
@FarmAlarm 6 лет назад
Oh now i never thought about a weather station. I like that! 3 sections, with a pole on top of one.
