Welcome to a new series at Märklin!
We will build a model train from scratch in the next couple of episodes
On this table top in front of me we will create a beautiful model train landscape during the series.
We will use this set www.maerklin.de/en/products/d.... It includes the ICE, railroad tracks forming an oval plus, two turnouts.
We will build up a complete scenery with a beautiful landscape including houses, electric lighting and signals and just everything that we can control digitally and analogue.
If questions should arise about the construction of a model train then don't be afraid to ask them in the commentaries. We will answer them in every episode.
This is an over voice of the original German Märklin Series "Wir bauen eine Modellbahn" with the original voice of Michael Praetorius, who also did the original videos.

There are expansion sets for tracks and you can build a catenary.

@@maerklin I'm not living in Germany and in my country this hobby is almost not existing. Therefore every part I need to import. If I will import it all in one shot it will be fun to build, but if any item I will need to order separately, it will be a long time and super expensive. This is why I like sets. It will be the best way to enter the digital Marklin world.

I want to suggest you watch the RU-vid videos by Märklin of Sweden, there is a recent series about easy building a layout. It is done using 2 rail Trix track which but you can do it using Marklin AC track. Märklin and Trix are sister companies and their respective C track has the same geometry and both uses the same digital units.

Märklin catenary has to be purchased individually, there aren’t kits or starter sets and it is more difficult to install. I would suggest you buy an starter set and extension sets, maybe some coaches and wagons, plus an extra locomotive. This gives you plenty of equipment to play with and learn the system, then at a later time you can add semaphores, accessories to remote control turnouts, and more. Last stage would be adding catenary.
