I work for the postal service so I always have a post office. I decide where I want to put it then I create a second player (as the postmaster). I upgrade the house only with a large front room that I decorate as the PO and the smaller room in back as their studio apartment. I put a delivery truck and other items outside to finish the look.
As soon as I saw the Normcore hints, I was excited for the fossils by the museum entrance build. You nailed it! Love the band area especially right next to Resident Services to encourage lots of singing villagers.
I don’t know if you remember this mechanic because you talked about the path being very square-ish, but did you know you could make corners round ? Like, in front of the museum, maybe a more round path would be better (where there are the topiaries). 🧐 Sorry, my English is very weird today TwT Anyway, I really like this island! I use those dresses as flannel nightgowns in the winter time so it's fun to see your little character running around town in her nightgown. LOL When the game first came out and I played every day, I would put her in PJs or a nightgown each evening and change her outfit each morning. It was during the pandemic and I had nothing else to do LOL It was fun. I miss it.
I also have a music area and am very annoyed that the villagers absolutely NEVER use it. It’s on the beach (they’re always on the beach!!) and I have the island music playing. I’ve pushed pashmina into the area and she gives me the side eye and walks right by the instruments. Lolz. I wonder if they’d use it if I took the custom codes out.
I love doing Cafes and Libraries, I’ve actually never done a post office but I really want to add one to my new towncore island. This is the first time I’m going for an actual theme on my island and I’m excited!
I love all of your other islands, but omg I love the simplicity of this island so far. I'm a huge lover of simple things, so this island makes my brain happy :3
How do I go normcore when I've already done some terraforming? I want to do this on my forever island, but it was a 4 seasons island until recently with lots of terraforming.

My favorite theme is kidcore for sure. In fact ur Halloween kidcore island was what introduced me to ur channel ❤ I'm trying to make a kidcore island currently (slowly...lol I haven't touched it in weeks 😂) But ! Normcore is so nice. Watching u make this is so fun. I have felt intimidated by all these awesome elaborate islands ppl make on RU-vid as much as I am inspired by them. I find it difficult to have patience to make such an island, so seeing normcore is making me feel a lot better. Perhaps I won't go too overboard with my kidcore island. Fingers crossed! 😊
It’s all coming together nicely and looks amazing. I love how the ducks really throw themselves into using all the areas you’ve built, even little duck enjoying a bit of karaoke! 😂. These builds are giving me so many ideas. My go to build on every island I’ve done has been to do a little reading area with log sofas, blanket and lots of books! Did I mention I’m building an elegant core island at the moment, sooo many statues! I’m still going stir crazy with it! 🤪. Well done anyway, it’s looking really good. ❤

Fun fact, Stegosaurus was my favorite dinosaur as a kid, lmao. No one ever asks about favorite dinos anymore. JELLY BEANS! WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE DINOSAUR? PS this looks so cute, and I think the only thing from "normcore" that I still do is probably just like...sauna or spa areas? And music areas, lol, because the villagers messing with the instruments and singing at the microphone gives me life. Oh, and markets with the stalls, obvi. This is so cute!
