How's she goin'? That's a nice Quick Attach!!! You are talking about the strength of the steel. I think with the tolerances you used, with the tight fit, it will last a good long time. It's not like you will be using the hoe commercially. Another good thing, if it does fail, you have the ability to make repairs or redesign and make it better!!! Making tools and equipment is way more fulfilling than buying in my opinion!!! Thanks for sharing and take care!!
@daveknowshow

I agree 100% it is more fulfilling to make these things we need ourselves. so far it is holding up great. ripped out a few trees ans stumps. blew a hydraulic hose but the quick attach is still holding up well.

That saddens me. What are they protesting. You don't settle violence by using violence. We need to honor and support our Police Force. When that fails, then i think the President has every right to bring in our Military. I Pray it all gets settled. First off we need to take care of the corruption in the Government, that would solve most of problems. We need God on our side to do this. If we don't I'm afraid America will fall. We need to get right with the Lord and get out and vote. It all starts by taking the trash out of politics.

Great work, Dave! I’ll bet your bucket quick connect it better that the BXpanded ones. I’ve had two of theirs break on me. Your’s is made of half inch steel compared to the 3/8” they use. Looking forward to seeing you try it out! Thanks for sharing!

Fingers crossed! lol so far its holding great I been digging stumps some large but mostly small ones. pushing over a few trees as well. I finally got my trencher bucket from BXPANDED and the pin does not line up so I had to make a new pin. looks like they could configure these to all be the same or ask for more information if they are custom building these buckets.

Hey there pardner, you is my kinda man. I liked this video. That was great camera work. Could you tell me what kind of camera you have? You mentioned a metal-cutting hole saw, but I didn't see it. Also, I have not used a backhoe but one time, and I didn't have to mess with changing the bucket. What I don't understand is what big advantage there is to a quick connect? You have to let the bucket down to take the pressure off of the pins, so how much harder is it to remove two pins, instead of just one? What am I missing here?
@daveknowshow
@daveknowshow 3 года назад
I showed the hole saw in a previous video its called an angular flute hole saw. the camera used in this video were apeman action cams with zoom audio recorders for the audio part. then sync them together in adobe. these cameras are very cheap to buy. they are simply 1080p not 4k. as for the advantage in mounting the bucket with the quick attach that is a great question and one that I plan to go over in an upcoming short video so hopefully you will stay tuned for that. once you see it I think you will have of oh yeah moment. of course if all you have is one bucket then you sure dont need one. also you can definitely get by with out one if you chose to.

Great job. How about some stabilizer locks. Mine leak down all the time. Take care my friend!!
@daveknowshow
@daveknowshow 4 года назад
mine leaked down to just blew a hose on the stabilizer and I can tell you changing those hoses were pure HELL! I plan to change the other two hoses as well so I built a special wrench to see it that helps. wont know till the hose comes in. normally I use a bungee, rope or chain to tie the two stabilizers together so they dont leak down on the trailer. however mine really never leak down very far.

Get that pin good n hot and drop it in a bucket of oil. She'll get hard.
@daveknowshow

yeah that will help if I put some case hardening powder on it. being just hot rolled steel it wont harden much just heating and quenching with out adding some case hardening powder.

why would some one want to build a bucket or quick connect these days, every equipment salvage yard is full of buckets and parts from burnt or sunk machines, you can buy a 24" wide bucket for that brand for $100 cnd, there so many of them around. there yards are hundreds of feet long and 30 feet deep of buckets lined up, even look at a video dirt boss did on a yard loaded with buckets
@daveknowshow
@daveknowshow 4 года назад
I dont see any salvage yards near me for this type of equipment. however sometimes its just being able to say "yes I built that bucket" a person with NO skills may not understand that. or a person who simply does not care to make their own may not understand that. if I had a salvage yard near me that has equipment like this I would sure be there looking at least once a month for stuff. with that said I'm located in Virginia near Richmond the capital of Virginia so if you know of one near me or can find one near me by all means sends me the address. most all the stuff around here goes to auction and is sold at premium prices even when its complete junk. I will wait for that address.

@@daveknowshow thats to bad you dont have one near you... i see them here all over Canada. in fact i have a yard between me and the city. of Thunder by. `/2 hour drive, yes i know some dont under stand want one gets out of making things as a welder mfg all my life i have built thousands of things in my time, but today some things just not cost effective when there is a surplus. i keep an eye out, i know there are 3 or 4 in Colorado

the pin designs and positions for removing or moving one in place are a real pain in the ass. those engineers really screwed up on this design. Not to mention the lubing of all the springs, pins and bushings to keep the unit running smooth. esp the forward/reverse petal. keep it clean and oiled. my L3400 has been a champ for 13 yrs.
