Nice job, small hint ,pullthe mainsheet in so that the main boom lies along the centre line of the hull and adjust the headsail boom so that there is a gap between the mast and headsail boom end, this will cause the wind flow to pass along the outside of the mainsail creating better lift.
Hi, well done with an excellent build video. I am constructing one at the moment. My one came to me partly made and I am changing some aspects of the boat including the rig. My one had been stored on its side for a while and the keel weight had warped the keel, now resolved, so keep model upright but it is a rather thin keel. I like some of the things you did. May I suggest that scraping the deck with a sharp blade is better than sanding? It is a good beginners model as the parts fit very accurately together and the instructions plus your video are excellent.
Hi, I am (or was) a beginner, and off course you will make small mistakes her and there, but all in all I managed to get it ready and sailing, and It behaves allmost as a real sailboat in the wind, great fun! it took me 2 months to assemble and paint.
Hi from Cornwall England. Just getting back into modeling again. Can you tell me we're I can get a copy of the plans for this lovely little boat. Great job it looks great. Many thanks Paul.
Why you choose to paint the hull all white instead of leaving the sides of the hull varnished? Don't get me wrong, the boat turned out great but many builders seems to prefer to varnish the mahogany veneered sides.
Because I had some problems with the assembly of the hull, so i had to put some extra glue on and later plastic wood to make it tight and even in the surface, so thats why I had to cover up this "not so pretty job" with paint! but in the end it turn up to be nice (and tight!)
Michael Nielsen Hi i received my aeronaut bella kit today, i noticed that the ballast supplied with the kit has a hole pre drilled and notches on both halves to be attached on the keel but these don't align at all. Did you had the same problem?
Hello! Inexperienced Boat Builder here. Great build! For sure will help me build my Bella. Have a question for you.. by any chance, do you know the weight of the keel for Bella? The keel that came in my kit does not even fit throught the stand and is around 1.6 kg. Is this ok? Not being able to fit the keel through the stand, got me thinking... Greetings from Romania! Sergiu
hi, I don´t know the weight of the keel, but I think it is OK. There should be a hole in on of the side walls in the stand, which enables you to fit the ship with the keel into the stand. good luck
