Building A Real French Home || The Sims 4: Speed Build 

As a french person, I get the french feeling in this house, however, most of house in the south has tiles or linoleum and not hardwood floors :) Love your videos !

as a french i can tell you that in france we do have this kind of kitchen but most of the time it looks really old, with a lot of wood,... but when we paint them it actually is quiet good so yeah i think it’s good! btw i really like your videos thank you :)

I know what you mean about feeling awkward at taking photos. I love getting inspiration from real life buildings so I’ll jot down the street name or nearby street name as a reminder to look around there on Google Earth in future. The only downside with this is you can’t see more recent buildings. I’d recommend doing this in future though!

I’m from south of France and we do take advantage of the sunny weather in the summer time to dry our clothes ! Otherwise some people do have dryers :) btw this made me feel like being home 🤭

This remembers me, long time ago, when I didn't have TS4, so I played Sims Freeplay, and for an event, the price was this beautiful french country/fancy house, with a bunch of new decorations. I love it!

I love this build! The pans you were talking about whilst you did the kitchen are copper pans and they were very popular in France :) There is a town called Villedieu-les-poêles (loose translation: gods city of pans) and they have been known for their copper craft since the 12th century, the town still has original copper factories who perform each step by hand as much as they can and you can visit them and watch them in their art. Extremely expensive to buy but nothing beats a deep copper roasting pan :)

I‘m german, but I have lot of french relatives in South France and I have to say you made a really good job 😍 Your videos are a great inspiration for me, because I love building, too. Unfortunatly I always struggle with roofing 🙈 Did you ever make a tutorial on roofing or could you mabye make one in the future?

Yes we need fluffy comfortable couches. These couches look like they came from the Flintstones. This was the number one reason I started looking for cc. It's an easy fix too.

Hi from a french girl ! Well, you can see that a non french person made the interior, for some reasons (that are details but that's fun to compare !) but that's fun tho : first of all, in a house that's not that new (so in one as you choose for you build), we mostly have tiles on the floor (why ? I have no clue lol), but not wood. A good point you did : a separate kitchen, which is pretty common here not to have a huge space with no walls to separate rooms (especially living ones) in some houses that are not that new you know. For the brass, you complytely right omg, there are mostly in old (OLD) houses, but that's a nice touch I have to admit it :') Yeah, in France it's not that common to have an onsuite bathroom, having a masterbedroom is pretty recent here. ALSO, we separate most of the times the toilet, because of privacy reasons, mostly downstairs the toilets should have been separated. You're right to put a dinning room, we have one in mostly every house that can fits one ! Omg the rugs, we don't have then that much ... I know right, but we don't necessarily have some in like the living area or the dinning rooms, or even in the bedrooms, that's weird actually :') You are SO right about the laundry stuff : first, we don't really always have a laundry room but we do have a garage, so we put the washing machine over there, but where you made a point is tha hanging racks outisde, even in winter (but we do it inside), we prefer to hang our clothes, even if people have a dryer, cause some do have dryers ofc Overall it's an amazing build and that's really fun to watch :)

Just a tip for you. It’s very common to have basement here in Europe. Maybe your next builds you can add them. Normally, it is basically laundry room and mostly storage. :)

Yeah here in Spain people dry clothes outside almost all the time. Having a dryer is not really common, or at east I don't know people who own one. Btw awesome build!♥️

There's lots of pretty cc for weddings, maybe you could decorate an existing lot like a museum or a park for a wedding?

I speak from a portuguese perspective and I can say dryers are not common at all, I only know of one or two people that have one. As for the master rooms having bathrooms that depends. Smaller or more older homes do not tens to have them, but most modern houses do have. Btw, I love your buildings and hope and your husband liked your stay in Portugal 😊

Fun fact; the brass pot ware and utensils were introduced by the Thai when they sent over an embassy to introduce SE Asian culture. The brass material or copper material used was for the food being cooked wouldn't burn as fast or quickly. If cooked evenly and last much longer than iron or steel products.

Speaking for someone who lives in Portugal. We dont use driers at all is rare even to have one at home So hanging clothes outside especially under windows is a cultural thing here there is a lot of it in Lisbon also we have sun every season any time of the year and we dont get much rain so i guess that helps too. My family used to have a drier at home and we never used it its just not worth it with all the sun hours we have every single day

The cooking pots and saucers are made of copper because it conducts heat fantastically and evenly, the French are big on cooking so a lot of homes have copper pans

This build reminds me of a field trip I went on in the seventh grade. It wasn’t in France, unfortunately lol, but the building had a similar style just much larger. The build is just as gorgeous though.

as a French resident, I can tell you that the toilet and the shower are separated, as in, in different rooms made especially for them.

Teens are children in the sense that they are children of the parents and still live at home, but I would not call a teen a child, because they aren’t children. It really irks me when some one does that. Also, plastic was not what came to mind when I saw those couches, but okay.... That’s a nice house you made there. I like how you got inspired while traveling.

on suites are def not a thing in europe or as common.. my gf lives in the netherlands and she has a whole room with just a shower and a toilet in a separate room! so different
