Here is the basic process of how I build a replacement neck.
This is a simple 2 piece neck with a birdseye maple fretboard, flame maple neck, walnut skunk stripe and nickel silver frets. You could do the same procedure with any kind of wood for a paddle style neck.

While I really like the build video, I also love the music! I don't recognize it... Original?

Sounds like some laid back Dinosaur Jr to me.

What is the model of that sliding miter saw that you cut the frets with? Seems like a way better way than doing on the table saw as you could radius it first and then cut, which is difficult on a tablesaw due to the radius having to face down when cutting fret slots.

It's an old Hitachi mitre saw I got from my Grandfather when he died. I'm sure you could find something similar at most garage sales.

Hello.. Please make a telecaster neck with rosewood fingerboard and skunkstripe, no one has made a video yet.

Very nice. I would only kindly request to use a higher quality camera as 720p is quite blurry on small screens.

Why hand plane the edge for 3 swipes? I see that on almost every guitar video, and I'm convince it's just so they get a gold star for hand woodworking, instead of cnc...which is how you actually made the neck, therefore rendering your rudimentary attempt at hand planning one edge...a little. What gives?

Figured maple tends to rip out on my jointer and I need 1 flat edge for the CNC to reference on the X axis. Rather than fiddle around for 5 minutes with a jointer or belt sander, you hit it with a sharp handplane which is easier, faster, quieter, safer and gives you gold stars for hand woodworking.

@@VigilantGuitars THANK YOU! That's had me confused for a while, and with so many phony things on RU-vid, it gets frustrating when you're trying to learn something. I myself, just figured put YESTERDAY that sending figured maple through the planet is a HUGE mistake. I bought a barrel sander, and tried that...works without damage, but MUCH slower. I'm just trying to learn. I apologize for the snarky gold star comment, though, in all seriousness, if I had one to give, I'd give it to you. Instead, I'm just going to like, and subscribe, and keep watching. Hopefully that helps you out a little too. Thanks again!
