You know it's getting more interesting when the hanging basket liner comes out 😊 I agree with you about having fun with the layout. I probably have things on my layout where they shouldn't be but they work for me and that's what matters. It's all about enjoyment.
Ive bought a Barry Norman landscape modelling book, he refers to the scenics in the foreground as framing the layout and providing interest as the viewer has to peak through or around the trees. A great idea and i hope i can follow this when i start making trees 😀
Love it! I have N gauge. I had a full loop in the man cave but its now a bedroom :( I also got given a lot of my Dads OO to run that I did have on a small end to end. This gives me inspiration for both gauges. I will be doing something similar for my N in a shelf type end to end. Hopefully I'll be able to put a run of OO to run my Dad's stuff too. Keep em' coming, great content!
I have been planning the same kind of extension on the front of my layout with the foam and downward sloping terrain. Seeing this makes me more sure it is a good idea!
Had me worried there for a minute when you said "I don't want to do that", thought you were going to say you're not going any further with the layout. It's a good idea to add some more scenery to the front and I agree with you about having the scene broken up by obstructing the view slightly, makes it far more interesting.
