Building a VFO for the DSB Transceiver from QRP Guys

This is the third in a three-part series about the construction of a DSB digital transceiver II kit from QRP Guys. This part is a how-to detailing the construction of the optional VFO. The video includes a demonstration of soldering a surface mounted integrated circuit. The DSB Transceiver II has a QRP (low power) transmitter, and is suited for FT8 operation. The VFO kit and a lot more good ham stuff is located at qrpguys.com.

Thanks for the video, you posted it just in time since I received my VFO/DSB digital kit yesterday. The problem is that the manual for the VFO is missing on the qrpguys website! Just my luck haha.

Unfortunately, I damaged the VFO IC and was not able to get a replacement from QRP Guys, so I lost interest in the project. I still intend to finish it, but haven't done so yet. Thanks for your interest.
