I really don't think you need to release any pigs especially considering the damage they do ,I believe their numbers are such that eradication is not possible
He cut the boars so when the get older and he hunts them the meat will be prime.. Its highly unlikely that those boars will leave the area. Especially with his land I believe it’s like 3k acres..
Hey Rob! One thing you can do to the gate, is create an upright push gate that swings in from the side of the trap instead of up. Have some springs hooked to the gate and the outside post to the side fence that will pull the gate back closed once the hogs have entered the trap. This will also keep the hogs from getting their nose under the gate and lifting it up to exit the trap.
As always another great video, love the detail and the family being put in the videos. I love this design and plan on trying something like this out. I live in Georgia and they are starting to get out of control on my property. I'd like to see more videos about this and the new trap ideas you come up with. God bless as always and look forward to the next 3 days of videos you got coming out. By the way the little ones are growing like weeds. It just seems like yesterday Aria was born.
I still cant believe people still thumb down your vids bro. I been watching your vids since before you and Sara got married, and DMFD is hands down, without a doubt one of these best youtube channels ever created. I'm so happy that you made this channel and that I found it. I hope you guys are forever.
Deermeatfordinner you know why i am watching your videos is your cooking skill. The food what you are cooking is amazing it's in extra level. Anyway love from Melbourne, Australia.
Thank you so much for another fantastic video! I live in Florida and have learned most of what I know about hunting from your videos. My entire family loves the outdoors and have been a part of your channel. Thank you for sharing your amazing knowledge base and the positive energy that you and your family share with the world. Keep up the great work!
He mentioned everybody else's name except his little lady. And she's like what the .... but seriously, you make great videos, and you have a beautiful family. You are truly blessed. Absolutely love the catch and cook on everything you do. Not only that, you make me a better cook. So thank you.
hi good evening Rob, Sarah, Aria and Emma Jean, hi boys, thanks Rob for another great adventure out on the ranch, nice job with the trap, continue to enjoy the channel as always till the next video God bless beautiful Arrington family bye cutie pies one and two. 🐗🐗🐗🐗🚺🚼👍👍👍👍👍👍..
Ms. Athea, you have your own fan base in the comment section!!! I love it!!! your comments are always colorful and up lifting! for that, I say thank you so much!!!
try making the trap in the shape of the number 6 leaving the last section of hog wire under lapping the outer if that makes sense. you then will have a one way door without need of hinges and the extended upper part of the six will act as a funnel. hogs will push wire open with there nose just like your hinged door
Yay! Another new kind of video! Love the adding of new activities at the ranch. Love to see the ranch slowly becoming a mega wonderland of outdoor fun!
Been having a hog problem at my place. Tried a C trap that caught a few, but now they’ve figured out how to lift the gate/tear it up. Going to have to try that door set up, and see if that helps! Thanks for the content!
Youre welcome ! Hope you meet the one million and more subsribers ! Itd be nice to get a shoutout on one of your videos i watch them everyday even though ive seen them all
DMFD needs to hit over 2 million subscribers at least in my book it is hands-down the best Channel on RU-vid, he hasn't made not one video that I don't Love, and with that being said mr. Robert Arrington keep up the great work bro it's always a pleasure to see you and the family love y'all and God bless
I hear you. Here in TX, we have clay dirt. When I built my fence, I'm glad I invested in a gas-powered auger to get my 3ft of depth I needed. Otherwise I'd have been out there digging holes for a week instead of the 2 days it took me.
You should see here in Greece. Boulders, rocks and if you are lucky and get clear dirt, watch out for ancient ruins. (That involves the Antiquities agency, and you get red tape up the wazoo, if you are lucky you can continue digging in about 5 years. If not...)
This was very cool Rob, Are you looking to "Snip as many males as possible", to help control the population on the farm or just make them into the bar hogs?
I want to get as many big bars as possible. we're thinning them out if you know what I mean, I just can't show whacking a dozen hogs on my channel. I wan't quality, not quantity.
Hey Rob and Family. Love the videos, keep doing what you are doing. Im from Texas and we have a huge problem with feral hogs ourselves and I have found that a good, cheap, and simple way to trap hogs is to build a figure C trap. Just look it up on youtube and all you need is posts,( metal or wooden), bale ties or metal staples, and cattle panel. There is no need for lumber or drill. Check it out, hope this info helps on your next trap. 👍
Hi again Rob, Wow ! That really scared me when you were nailing the fence and the nail hit you in the nose ! I am glad it did not hit your eye which it could have permanently damage your eye. I had a strap cord snap back at me and hit my eye and came close to permanently damaging my eye. Now I always wear a sun glasses. Thanks
Hey Rob, The best way to feed them hogs is, go to publix, winn dixie, and ask for their out of date produce actually anything you can get from them food wise is cheaper than a bag of grain... Thanks Bill Alloway
Great pen, but one problem I see is you used 4' fence instead of 5' wire. Big hogs can climb out of a 4' pen. Also do a RU-vid search for Circle "C" trap for hogs. The spring loaded door is less intrusive but snaps shut to keep them in while more come to pig out on the corn.
Hey rob it’s me Matthew Wuest you said to comment on your next videos so here I am great video that weekend is good by the way THANKS for the trip! God bless
This is my idea and just a thought over the trap door put a piece of fencing over the door so as they run up the door and try and get out they run into the fence oof in that spot. I enjoy the videos thank you keep them up. I’m from De Pere Wi
Second video didn't show up on my video. Also I have heard that when you kill a male you need to cut his stuff off quickly or the meat will taste bad. Any true to this?
only issue we ever had was if they were severely aggitated or run by dogs, as long as they stay calm and you use a swift clean finishing shot you will never be able to tell the difference.
They kill many that he doesn't show on video, and now he's just trying to make some better eating hogs that are not able to reproduce, and at the same time controlling the population, so he needs to leave some that can reproduce, because if he don't they will hunt them out.. And that little sow he turned lose won't reproduce for about 6 more months or so.. So it will give him time to thin most of the ones he wants out out, while producing some larger better eating hogs.. I bet all those guys who showed up with rifles, killed a few hogs before he recorded what he did.. lol..
Idea. Use corral panels used for cattle. Take welded wire and use the pig panels and join them together. I took the links out between the welded wire and used the long strands to wrap over the corral panels and tie it around itself. Repeat till all panels are finished. Mobil and strong.
Hunter Fox cuz I'm pretty sure he felt bad for them. 1 momma and 2 kids, he probably thought of his wife and 2 children. To be honest I would have done the same thing.
We build the same kind of traps here in Texas, the only thing I do different is make the door out of hog panels. If they try to climb it they fall through. Love the videos keep it up.
I love all of your videos I have not missed one they all make me want to go hunting and fishing anyways I wish the best for you and your family and keep up the great work
The small boar....ah robert...woul'da made a great Smoke dinner...😁.... Best videos on the tube bro....and sarah looks like she needs a Vacation with Shopping included😂......stay blessed stay safe guys
Was talking to one of my DNR buddies in Illinois and he is worried these pests are going to be calling Illinois home in a few years. NOT WHAT I WANTED TO HEAR
"Even if the hogs are trap for 1 day, you want to make sure that thay have water and shade". My oh my, you're a good man ! When i see all the ice fishing youtoubers letting fish suffocate on the ice without ending their pain humanely, i'm very pissed. Keep up the good work, i love your videos :)
Why are you releasing them? So now you have pigs that are trap smart to teach all the other pigs to stay away from traps. They are much smarter than you think they are!
Still waiting for more videos-- want to see more pens, and it seems to work with the gravity door good job I didn't think it would work myself so I learn more everyday!!
nice video the last trap we made all we did was overlap the last wire panel and not attach it so the hogs can push the panel to get in but it springs back against the other panel and they cannot get out and no need for a door
@@ChrisGilliamOffGrid no he wouldn't Also this dude is training hogs to avoid this traps making it more hard for farmers to fight this creatures as they now learn how avoid this traps. You love the illusion of family. But this is all sort of wrong.
I can guarantee little Aria will be out hunting and doing everything with her daddy at 8 or 10 years old. She wants to be right there watching everything daddy does absolutely. Great video definitely, All little kids boy's & girl's should grow up in the outdoors from a young age. Way to go amazing parents Rob & Sarah...
the first one's always experience Bob and Sara I was trying to find you guys a new videos but I ain't seen them yet I plan on making a trip down sometime this summer
We use fencing only for the door. Instead of the wooden gravity door, we use fence panel that they can push outward to get in, but they cannot open it back up to get out. Easier to see it than explain it.
No dude.. the dude literally made a learning machine to make the hog hard to capture. He let the family walk around leaving their scent making clear humans were their. The trap only catch one hog and said hog was later release. This dude just made it easier that trap never gonna pick shit now.
A “C” trap Robert, you don’t even need the gravity door. Another well placed piece of hog panel in the inside of the figure “C” let’s you continually catch hogs from outside but makes the inside a inescapable round pen. Little South Texas ingenuity!
