I built an oscillating engine from Vic Smeed's book "Model Boating" There is a small diagram of a marine type engine in the book chapter on steam power. It's missing some dimensions but using standard conventions for model construction a workable engine can be made. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ahrROlDK-no.html I'm working on some dimensioned drawings as I build my third prototype.
Just Another "machining" Video.... always lathe's.... mill's..... If youre able to read and have a Plan and a lathe.... youre able to build Everything.....
get a mini lathe and let the creativity be the limit haha. sure you could make almost anything with only a hand saw and drill, but they won't be that precise. spinning parts would have runout, edges would not be square so... you can sometimes find a cheap hobby lathe or mill, used on Craigslist or at auction for under $400 or if you're crafty, you can make these machine tools DIY
@@pauls5745 Well said! It's ever getting cheaper and cheaper to get the basic machines to start making interesting projects. I don't rate the cheap import lathes for instance, but they serve a purpose to get more people interested in this hobby! Cheers
