Reminder that the Chi Ha is an old kit, dating back to 1974, but it was a great little kit for it’s time. It was recently rereleased in the Vintage Classics line where it is more appropriate. Hoping for more Japanese vehicles in the range.

I made the Chi-Ha of Fujimi scale 1/76,very good kit.The kit of Airfix is very good and has great quality.And the master that have made the video in which he has built the Chi-Ha,simplily....you are a teacher...!! congratulations for to show your works...!!

I bought one of these tanks for 2$ it's not too bad for how old the kit is.

Considering the kit I believe you did quite well with it Owen. Nicely done. Have you tried one of the Dragon 1/72 scale kits?? They are superb.

I have the Fujimi 1/76 model of this tank and I doubt there are any real differences between the two - so this video is just what the doctor ordered!

Well done Owen, looks good mate. I built this kit a few months ago and recognised all the errors you encountered lol... I doctored my build with open hatches and damaged rear engine grill then gave a burnt out finish for a diorama I was building.. Well done again mate, she looks spot on for such an old kit. All the best.. :0)

Some of the details which could be added (and perhaps provide the challenge you say was lacking):- The turret and cupola are about 2 mm too low overall when compared to accurate 1/76 scale plans and photographs. I added a piece of suitable plastic card under the entire turret, with a hole to allow the peg to engage in the hull top, and another disk under the cupola.- The driver's visor plate should have a very prominent hinge, something like a long thin sausage, near the top.- The radio aerial should have small re-curved ends added, curving inwards towards the hatch.- There should be a single headlight mounted centrally at the front of the upper part of the forward hull, between the two transmission access hatches.- 3 U-shaped towing rings should be fitted, one at the front (there is a mounting for this on the kit) and two at the rear.

As for its age, it builds better then the Atlantis re-release of the old Aurora kit. Unlike the original (which I built when it first came out) the Atlantis re-release sucks. Besides missing basic details like the turret antennae and the exhaust manifold shields (the gondola hatches are totally off/out of any sort of realistic resemblance) They rushed the molding process so that BOTH the tank's upper hulls bottom are totally warped, in OPPOSITION to each other, so they literally fight with you about fitting, leaving major gaps along the tank's side edges. And to top it all off, the molded the tracks in dead-soft rubber, and in curing/cooling, they literally shorten where they cannot reach all the way around the tank's wheels and connect as the old vinyl Aurora tracks did.

Nice! You should buy one of the more expensive kits. Preferably scales like you did in the video. The offers more like 100-300 parts compared to the 20. Much more fun and challenging. Great video though!

This was more experimenting with the video than the model really. Feedback on the changes such as overlaying the instructions, building the model step by step and anchoring it down for painting would be greatly appreciated! Thanks guys, sorry if I sound a bit tired but I hope you enjoy it :)

I have the chi ha tank now.

Me and my father have always painted wheels before assembly then we paint the rest and put the wheels ant tracks and all that on later.

A, what even is dry brushing, and B, why do my brushes never seem to Last? I thin them well but they always fray out very fast no matter which brand I get

1/76 so damn small i would rather go to 1/48 or 1/35

the model is nice, but wash make usually after gloss varnish!

Air fix are terrible I've built 2 and they look terrible I'd buy dragon trumpeter and tamiya
