Dude, I had no idea these cars could be so fast. Super awesome. You have some brass balls not worrying about sending a rod into space with that kind of power. Kudos.
Man you are giving hope to SQ5 owners! Really good info and the detailed process and parts used is awesome. Really appreciated. The only thing I would change is 22" wheels for 19 or 20's I prefer more meaty tyres but yours is clean AF
Happy to be here for this journey! I’ve got a stage 1 B8.5 that I’m planning to start doing more things to this upcoming year. Keep it pushin’, your car is so sick 👍👍
Love the videos! Do you have any concerns with the catless downpipe in terms of the smell? I heard that it can be harmful as well, so it has been tough deciding which downpipe to choose. I don’t want to put myself or loved ones at any potential risk. On the contrary, I have read online that pump gas seems to be the smelliest, ethanol blends tend to not be so bad?
Thanks for asking man! I totally understand your concerns and I had the same. You will not smell anything inside the cabin of the car if you properly install the downpipe with new gaskets. Outside of the car, the catless on pump gas won’t smell at all. If you’re on ethanol if will smell like corn outside but that’s it. It’s not bad at all. No smoke either. Stock exhaust does a good job.
I am curious to know as to why you used KW V3 ? Are they adjustable same way as air suspension in car changing driving modes ? How’s the comfort ? The reason i am asking is previous owner on my vehicle installed H&R sports spring and drive is really stiff in dynamic. Would love to know what this kit offers
Fucking wild - I def want to lower mine and get some wheels now after tuning it. Mine does have the air suspension, so you think the lowering links will work out?
Holy fuck I’ve been trying to get a b8.5 sq5 for a while (personally has to have panda interior with sepang blue) but I might just say f it and do this holy shit near 10 second sq5 is nuts
@@Need4Built seems like it’s a lot more modifiable rather then the supercharged engines as they plateau around 450-500 without major internal work and twin charging it, I’m just curious to see the longevity of the engine… have you noticed anything in the few months running the new 810 other then fuel Econ going down and more fun being had?
Just wondering how everything has been holding up. I have a tte710 now and was thinking of going 810/750 but I am a little concerned about the car holding up.
Hey man, late to the party, I know, but I wanted to ask about the KW suspension set up. I''m finding that even when set to comfort mode, on long trips, it's still too firm. How soft can you set up the KW's? Lastly, I don't suppose you have the kit number that you ordered? When I type in my VIN number, nothing shows up on KW's website. Thanks in advance!
Why exactly you left stock pads on 034 rotors? I am looking for the pads, as it is my daily driver too, but with a good performance to drive down the twisty roads. What do you think?
As a B8 SQ5 owner (that's also gone down the whole ultra-charger route) I hope you guys have saved some of that money for the rocker-arm replacements before they become a problem. I don't see any B9 SQ5 owners on youtube talking about that issue.
Gotta save the money to build the engine entirely. I’m not having the same issue. Out of the b9 sq5’s on the road, only 1-2% have had an issue with the rockers specifically. There are other pressing issues like pistons blowing.
I really don't know why people think those JXB driveshaft carriers actually do anything. The driveshaft spins in place, it's not bouncing around as it's spinning. If it is you have balance issues with the drive shaft. Is your factory drive shaft carrier shot? Then sure, get the JXB one but it doesn't do anything that that the factory driveshaft carrier does. 034's take on it - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MCDDU0l3eAY.html
Completely understandable! I should’ve mentioned I have been doing 2 side hustles besides my job to fund my car projects including this one, in my defense. Anyone can afford it if they put the work in. Affirm or PayPal credit is an option 😁
Dude, that rocks. I love my SQ5 B9 and now that warranty has just expired I’m easing into mods with IE stage w/ air intake, new wheels, and going the inexpensive route with lowering links. I couldn’t have said it better how this car can go from Bruce Wayne to Batman mode. Appreciate your information sharing on mods with real costs.
Beautiful car! I'm on the point of purchasing a 2018 SQ5 with 70k miles. I test drove it today and performed really well. After reading a lot of reviews on the internet the same thing about "rocker arms" is popping up. Can you give me your advise and place this issue in a little bit of context so i can make the decision of purchasing it or just go for another car. Thanks for the help!
You wont go wrong purchasing an SQ5. Rockers arm issues have been only for the 2018/2019 models and even then less than 2% failures of all those vehicles on the road. Even then 5W-40 oil and oil changes every 4/5k miles will most likely change that outcome.
Don’t bother with the 2.0T even the B9. It will take probably a Hybrid turbo and full bolt on and get it to 400hp. Even then you’ll be looking at a very unreliable engine/trans in that car. Don’t even bother. Get a B9 SQ5. It’s a massive upgrade even stock. You can make 750hp just Iike me without any issues while keeping all reliability man. Trust me on this. Worth.
@@Need4Built Thanks for the info man! How much worse is the b8 3.0t? I can get a 2016 q5 3.0t for a really good price with low mileage. You think it's worth an extra 7k for the Sq5 b9?
@@Sh-ue6wy So the B8 3.0T is a very established platform. Very cool and reliable as well. BUT you won’t make more than 500whp and that requires heavy modifications. With the B9 SQ5, you can make 640whp with bolts on and hybird turbo. It’s even more reliable and the interior is a HUGE upgrade. The transmission is beefed up even more. All around the B9 is miles and miles ahead of the b8 motor and chassis.
I see you’re a man of culture! 😉 I’m hoping to build this channel around the idea of incredibly fast SUV’s!📈 I’m quite familiar with that platform and I’ll write it down.
Hi man, im from uk and jus gone stage 2 on my SQ5 B9. isit normal to have no cold start after tune, like i dont get cold start anymore? running 034 intake, CTS downpipe too,
I think I’ll be making a video about this soon. I believe there’s an Audi conspiracy to this and a cover up. Those rockers were revised in the 2019 models for a reason. Audi knew they messed up. I’m fairly certain mine are going bad and I will definitely making a video about this, and possibly replacing mine.
@@Need4Built thanks for the reply! I’m on the fence about the issue. The fact that you’re running that much power on the originals makes me think it’s more likely a parts batch thing, rather than them all being bad. Still, wise preventative maintenance for your build! Sick channel btw.
@@Bergerac82 I’ve seen more rocker arm failures on the stock tune rather than with any mods what so ever. I’m honestly not sure. Preventative maintenance is the way to go absolutely! Thanks for the support! I got lots more content on the way! 👊🏻
Don’t want to sound like a dick or cocky but my X4M will walk ur SQ5 the way you have it done now without a problem! My car literally only needs BM3 license custom tune or ots w/e with downpipes NOTHING else and I’m 101-10.2 at 135+ 1/4 with weight reduction light wheels 10.0 or 9.9 at 136+ But you have a sick build bro love it, I have a 16’ S7 FBO on rs7 turbo’s that will actually be a good run with ur SQ5. I also have a 22’ M5 yes tuned bolt on and I take the S7 over it as far as interior and looks wise lol.
S58’s are out of this world. X3m/X4M are flagship cars. You’re comparing a 30k car to a 60k car. Haha The SQ5 only competes with the X3M40i. I’m running 10.1’s @135mph now 😀
@@Need4Built well there isn’t anything to compare towards the X4M because Audi don’t have the RSQ5 in the states…. 60k used yeahh but they go cheaper now. 🫡
Oh nice. I need to replace my bumper and thought it was the rs bumper. Love what you’ve done with this thing. I went BT on my b8 a4 back in 2011 and this is my first car that had remained stock. Going jb4 and catless dp in 2 weeks. Have all the parts just can’t install myself 🙃
I had one as a rental for 3 weeks I loved it. My lease ends in October I’m buying a 18 or a 19. I can’t fkn wait this fkn car is like a slave ship inside and it’s got hood power stick
I'm currently in the process of acquiring a 2020 model year w/o the air suspension. My first mod will be the front strut brace and rear subframe inserts for handling
@@Need4Built I'm also planning to get the TTE810 installed. Which one do you have, or do you think there one on the market by how that would hold to this turbo?
@@21sq54 Definitely absolutely go for the 810. That’s what I have. It’s miles ahead of the 710 and makes it obsolete. The tte810 and pure750 have been pretty close. From what I know the 810 will have more potential in the future over the pure 750. Pure turbo might be working on a bigger turbo.
@@Need4Built I meant which TurboSmart DV did you install or if there is a better one on the market by now which you think could hold the TTE810 boost. Since I'm all in for the TTE810, sounds like I'll have to address that part too :). Appreciate any insights!
@@21sq54 I’ve reached out to a few companies to find out. No direct answers really. I think turbosmart should be working on something a little stronger.
My SQ5 have 1st stage and produced around 410hp I simply love it and I have ABT body kit so look good it is fast enough and I enjoyed driving, but I can’t imagine that SQ5 with 600+ hp deamn that car is fast 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Bruhhh this was my dream when I got mine. I have a 2018 Prestige sports package. And i have looked at a few things from IE. But you have snapped on this thing! Congrats man, i wish i was more confident in doing some of my own work.😅
@@Need4Built dude I’m so happy for you. I would invest in a body kit, but I gotta change my rotors and APPARENTLY a thermostat issue that’s common with my model
I really want this car but I was also looking at the Q7 3.0 with the supercharger just because of size and space. would you know if there are performance upgrades to the Q7?
I’m looking to put 22’s on my B9 SQ5 as well. What size tires do you have? I do have the air suspension so I’ll be getting the CETE module as well. I want a fairly comfortable ride and no rub. Was going to do 21’s but now you’ve got me thinking about 22’s lol. Thanks man!
i had a b8 SQ5 running IE stage 1 and it was so fun. i sold it about a year ago and this video just made me wanna jump back in the Audi world. nice job!
I have, they are amazing with the stock turbo, but the 810 needs more cooling. IE is working on a drag cooler which I will be putting on soon to maximize my cooling performance. For now the FDS cooler is the best on the market.
That's an insane machine pack it up in a container and send it to the UK for me that's absolutely brilliant what you have done there young man I take my hat off to you
The CTS Catless Downpipe is the best option for a catless downpipe. Welds are really good. For a high flow catted option, CTS SUCKS. Wagner is the best High flow catted option.
@@Need4Built The Wagner one is and has been unavailable for a little while. I found some forum posts about the redstar ones melting and they were all using the old HJS cat in it, I’m hoping the newer GESI cat won’t have the same issues because it seems to be the only decent hiflow downpipe on the market for our cars, thanks for the info.
Crazy how far back Audi is compared to BMW. Same size engine as x3m 3.0 and it needs to be stage 3+ to be able to make the power x3m makes with OTS tune. Lol
Can’t compare the 3.0T to the S58… s58 is in line with the 4.0T platform. Which is crazy to me to think a v6 has as much potential as a v8. Bmw doing something right. However again, the 3.0T is in line with the b58 only.
@Need4Built agreed I looked at the video to see maybe this would be cheaper alternate for x3m. I currently make what you make with ots tuned m550i. 640awhp 680tq.
My B8.5 S4 was tuned through them previously, that’s the only reason I went with them. I preferred their customer service support over 034’s. Both tunes perform equally the same and are just as impressive as the other. No company is going to compare to what they do, performance/hardware wise especially.
@@Need4Built oh ok so 70k including the car, gotcha. Not bad man, I got a 2022 with the IE stage 1 and intake. Skipped the intercooler and just drive casually on 93. I opted more for comfort and I wish I had air suspension but Airlift hasn’t mapped it out yet for 2022 . Enjoy, that things a beast
