For your kind information, you don't have to create a separate action to scroll the list view to the bottom every time a new message is created....there is built-in option in the flutterflow in the properties panel of list view called Reverse list view. Enabling that will do the thing.

You can move your API keys and the API run into a more secure place in flutter flow itself. By using the mark call as private. That does create a Google cloud function

I followed this tutorial and published the website for learning purposes. It works great in a web browser on a computer but doesnt work on an iphone browser. The website loads fine but when I go to type in the chat it breaks. Any ideas why this would happen?

I've been studying how to use the Assistant API for several days, and today I watched your video and completely understood it. Your video was very systematic and consistent with the workflow, which was very helpful in understanding the workings of the Assistant API. 😍🥰🤩 As a beginner in FF, I have one question. 🙏🙏🙏 I think there are two ways to store keys for Open API in FF. The first way is to store it in an "App State Variable" as you explain in the video, I think this is a dangerous way as you explain because it is stored locally. The second way is to save the key in “Default Value” when creating OPEN AI’s API Key as a variable in FF’s “Define API Group” screen. In your video, you create a variable called "token" and store the key in the "default value" of this variable. The second way does not require the client to send OPEN AI's API Key (since it is sent as a default value from FF's server to OPEN AI), and the key value is also stored on FF's server, so I think there will be no security problem, but I As a beginner, I have a lot to learn, so I'm curious to hear your opinion as an expert. 🙏🙏🙏 Lastly, I am very very very grateful for your video. 👍👍👍

Have we found a way to show past assistant chat history for the user to reference if wanting to go back? I dont think its a good UI for the users not to be ablet to reference alll chats and restart the process
I do agree this is a limited sample without the ability to save and resume chats. I do hope to create a more fuller example in the not too distant future.

So the goal is that the user can watch his chats with GPT also months ago. Is this possible?

Hi thank you for the compliment. This is odd. Do you get anything back in the list? Such as a null? This normally indicates no credit has been loaded on the OpenAI platform side.
@the_digitalpro Thank you for your response. I do have a balance. However, the problem lies in the fact that the message is not being saved to the chat history. I've observed occasional conflicts between the mobile and desktop views, possibly indicating a responsive bug.
@@the_digitalpro After a few hours of reviewing line by line, I discovered that in the OpenAI documentation pertaining to assistants, it states that after the base URL, the header "Content-Type: application/json" must be included. This seemed strange to me because when I tested your project, simply adding my API key and assistant ID worked fine. However, in my own project, I consistently encountered an error in the authentication process until I added this header. I'm leaving this here in case someone else encounters the same issue.

You just need to create another assistant and then use that assistant id in your app. You could then have multiple assistants and just pass the id to the same api calls.

What I have not managed to understand 🤯 (I know where the component is and to modify it) is with what kind of action the component appears when starting the chat process. I don't see the component in the UI tree of the page but it does indeed appear after the application run. I do not understand why it appears if I do not find the action that relates the page with the component. Thank you very much!!!!!
No not at all. This is great if you are looking to more secure values within the AppState using the devices encryption methods but as soon as you do any network communication. I.e make an API call this has to send over your API key meaning it would be fully visible. Hope this helps.

@@the_digitalpro managed to fix it! So assistants has a new version of the API but I still had headers/the api URL set to v1 - thanks for your help, going in and checking OpenAI sorted it.
