Building An OLYMPIC Waterfront In Cities Skylines! | Orchid Bay 

I look forward to Orchid Bay every week, it just feels so cozy and like home.

So happy you are continuing your City 1 Series. So many other creators have abandoned City 1 to play city 2 . Keep up the good work.

I think both metro lines should end in the Olympic village, because the airport one will be always full, plus, the station has 2 visible tracks, i think it will look cool to have both used (Edit) and the elevated line could cross the river and then go undergeound

i think the olympic village would benefit from a doctor's office or a public pool near the aquatic center. also, the bridge leading from downtown towards the village might have a slip lane going right (towards the village). all in all i loved the build :)

Hard to believe Orchid Bay already has 70 episodes! Love the Olympic build! Maybe the smaller stafium could be softball and it could be the village for baseball softball and swimming. It's unfortunate that hotels are so difficult to unlock because there are lot that would have looked great in this build.

I do very much appreciate Egg, and the others who are still making content for Cities 1. I know the algorithm gods favor the "hot" new game (Probably because it's a bit of a garbage fire admittedly) Cities 2. I personally just look forward to Cities 1 content so much more. As much as a limited tool kit can lead to creativity, Cities 1 just has the ability to truly create basically anything you would see in a real world city. I enjoy seeing people try to blend and use assets in much more interesting ways not to mention the sheer amount of detailing.

Part 70?! Holy smokes dude. Loved this build, I do think that the basketball arena or some other large arena would have been perfect in there. I knew that metro station was going to go bonkers, if the moons aligned and every stadium had a match that place would be FLOODING with ants. Keep rocking dude, these later OB episodes have been a lot of fun

In my vanilla console build, I’ve come to really enjoy using the Wall to Wall residential buildings, but not placing them wall to wall. One thing I’ve found with vanilla CS1 js that there is a lack of 4-8 story buildings with a larger footprint. If you do larger zoned high density, you get something that’s either super tall, or incredibly ugly. Green cities is nice, but even those buildings are quite tall. The wall to wall buildings, spaced out, with some parking lots, small parks, and pathways make a really really nice low rise appartment complex. I really enjoy the balcony and staircase detail of these buildings. I also used some of the 2x2 units to make a decent townhouse complex. And perhaps the best thing about the wall to wall, it has a unique drop-down menu where you can manually select the art style on the outside of the building, without destroying the building. I really wish this feature was extended to other assets, so we had an option to remove things like giant pink octopi and the like.

I would love to see you keep going with CS1 and vanilla builds. the detail you put into each city is amazing.

I'm glad people are still enjoying your cities 1 content, I feel Cities 2 is great but it's not the progression from cities 1 we hoped for, so I'm glad Cities 1 will still remain on the channel :)

32:50 was the perfect place the metro line to extend to with a new station and potential loop back to the city

The Aquarium could be the Olympic Swimming pool for swimming, diving, synchronized swimming, etc. Great build

Always love an Olympic build, just so many great assets in the game now! I think you’ve used the Media Broadcast Centre and the Television Station uniques but they’d obviously fit well here too

Wow, this turned out amazing! Thank you so much for considering my suggestion, I really love what you did with it. This whole area gives the vibe of a city that hosted the olypmics like 10 to 20 years ago, but was determined to convert all the neccessary projects (like the media broadcast center and the athlete housing) into usefull and sustainable uses. Maybe it's not 100% of the olympic glory anymore (backalleys don't get cleaned anymore), but it's still a bustling hub of the recreational/night life of the citizens. And I still think it fits perfectly where it sits with good transit options and on land that would not be valuable to any other uses. Thanks again! [PS: And don't worry about my user name. Nobody ever pronounces it right, because it's not really a human name. It's klingon. ;)]

Great use of this piece of land I think, really like the two baseball stadiums at the end with the awesome view of the city. I guess the casino owner made a good case for including poker and slot-machine's into the olympic games in the future and hence was allowed to be part of an olympic park 😆 Looking forward to a tour across this huge metropolitan area, it's been almost a year since we started with a small town named two-church.

Remove street Parking around new park . You want cars in parking lots not crowding the roads .

Maybe the area backstory was former Olympic park converted to a World Series of Baseball City. Or an Expo World Championship of Baseball. Area could be called Champions Point. Probably need some Hotels area in there somewhere. Also does the area need a bank. 😮

I had a thought after looking at the last shot of the city, since the city has such large residential demand, what if you went through and up-zoned certain areas, like adding in a high density tower here or there in some areas close to density, great build

Great build. Would it be possible to find room for the Olympic rings? Perhaps placing some bushes on the mountain slope so incomming flight know they arrived at the correct destination when they spot the rings from their window seat.

But the most important ingredient is the talented individual who is creating the city. I am no Olympics police but come on OE.. We deserved an Athletics venue at a Olympic built.. A massive, over the top stadium built by the force modern slavery, poor worker conditions. Give people a reason to be mad at and protest over Olympics :D

Beautiful build mate, as usual, but put a proper stadium in for the smaller baseball ground to act as an athletics venue.

You can change the team colors for each of the stadiums. Red is the default color. Maybe something like Black and Yellow. (I avoided red and blue because a lot of default citizens wear those colors). Then the fans arriving via the metro will be wearing the teams colors.

1346 a lot is described as image already looks like you already got a swimming pool in there with the muscle scraping I don't know what that weird little fins mana be but you got it looks like a basketball Stadium unlike the little metro then you got then you got the office Stadium but that image just going up into like the city and then just on your right hand side you got the hills left hand side you got like a Airport it kind of describes a quite a lot if you just kind of look and pay attention closely I love this build😊😊😊

This is gonna sound nitpicky but athletes don't take their children with them to the Athletes Village. However, you could say that the playground is there because the village will be converted to low income housing for families after the Games have finished. Another thing is I don't think you'd have two major stadiums of the same kind so close to each other. You'd have maybe a basketball venue near to a football stadium or a gymnastics venue or something. You're more likely to see a smaller baseball park which facilitates training and warm up games near a major baseball stadium. Again, I'm being pedantic about what's another good build.

I relatively recently found Cities. And I have almost all DLCs bought at the moment. Is Cities 2 any good and is it worth buying it and playing instead of Cities 1? I just feel like I have spent a lot of money on a game for it to become obsolete?

Question for Overcharged Egg. I am an OG city Builder, I played my first computer game on floppy disk in 1987. Believe it or not, you had to stop in the middle of the game and change floppy disk 😂, with that said. I have a great system, but I deal with trees turning into potatoes and the system freezing up for 20 seconds at a time. Do you have these issues? I am also disappointed when it comes to the simulation in the fact that it does feel fake. Do businesses build products that we can export? Do our citizens go to work now and stay for 8 hours or do they show up and leave 2 minutes later? Do they even go to their job? What issues are you dealing with?

how about adding a Bus Bridge? should help with the traffic and there are not enough bridges anyway, right?

Is Baseball an Olympic sport?

I thought you might consider renaming the area Qeme Park, that way you can name one of the baseball teams Qeme Park Rangers (and maybe the other team Qeme Park Strangers)

Great build. For the sake of consistent walking porn, it might be worth cheesing the system by deleting one of the stadiums and then putting it back in again so the match days don't happen at the same time. Then you could gush over the pedestrians streaming about for far longer 🤣😂

Am I the only one who thinks the aquarium might be the ugliest building in all of Cities Skylines 1? It's oddly shaped, fine, but the colours are so loud and I've rarely seen any Cities player integrate it seamlessly into their builds. It just sticks out like a sore thumb everywhere.

I love Orchid Bay. CS1 forever! (Or at least until CS2 is in a fit state to actually be playable lol!)
