Absolutely gorgeous design and detail work, you're a amazing artist and truly one of the best city builders in both Cities Skylines 1 & 2, I appreciate all you do because you're more of an incredible person then you know. Take care and keep up the amazing work.. 💯👍
Such an exciting start to the city, so many prospects, so much expectation (no pressure 😉) thank you for continuing to please your oldest subscribers with CS1 content 😊
To be honest, I think the game is broken now, so basically, if you have a school, high school, grave yard, fire station, and basic utilities, you end up having a permit unless you reduce their budgets and up the tax to 20% and then your population collapses. It's awful
All they had to do was make these changes into policies. Give players the options to colour the game's behaviour there will be quirks that will cause, high rent, low employment and poor school attendance but that's where content creators come in to help with the best concoction of policies for the desired effect.
At a glance I'm happy reading a lot of the changes but the Tiles Upkeep is definately a bit of a red flag to me as I always tend to lean towards smaller cities and rural towns and villages as opposed to massive megacities. Just looking at Egginborough's budget is very disturbing. Wouldn't have been soo bad if it were around 1/4 or less of your total budget but that was a huge chunk of your budget going on "land tax" alone! (In my opinion it should have been an on option of buying the land squares outright for a bigger fee or taking out a loan for it and paying for it over a lengthy duration of time. This current system looks like its going to kill off many existing cities, forcing loads of people to start fresh builds). I'll be definately considering a mod to disable that when I finally get around to playing it in the autumn-winter.
27:04 Unsure if anyone’s mentioned this yet, but the coal storage for power plants is in the regular warehouses, labelled “Zoned industry - ore products”
"This game was totally fine when we released it." Really? "No, here's 3 pages of bug fixes and a total overhaul to the economy because nothing worked properly. Also, we're going to make it so hard to re-balance your existing cities that all you content creators should definitely start new cities because the existing ones make us look bad. And if the modders could get back to work fixing everything else, we'd really appreciate it."
For Sherry town center, I feel it should be based around more modern asset as City Hall, with the town itself being Green cities. Maybe an older side around the tram depot if transit goes that direction, and a newer side centered around city hall?
I'm checking out yours and other videos on this, and I'm deciding to start over with a brand new city while unfreezing all my city tiles, relocking them, then starting said new city. 🤔 Thank you for the information...
There are a few things that I like but I still can't play either on my pc atm until I get it fixed, and I am an impatient person and I wanted CS2 to be a very nice and updated version of CS1 which it is not as of yet. I would be very annoyed if I had started a beautiful city and then these upgrades came in and caused issues. Especially those who use mods. I do not like the tile upkeep. I find it ridiculous. I watched both you and Biffa and like I said there are some things that are nice and somethings that are useless and some things I won't understand since I can't play. I'm seeing it from the outside looking in because I can't play. Anyway, I'll still wait to buy until I feel it's up to speed or better than CS, which I still prefer. I hope they will get there!🤩
I've watched a few videos on the 2.0 update alot of the focus seems to be the tile upkeep. In my opinion, it's almost an necessary expense. If it's your city, who are you buying the land from? 😂 Typically in real life the city expands by buying plots of land from farm lands, houses that have acres of land that the city wants, etc. I'm sure if a state wanted to open a new city today, they wouldn't buy a tile, it just comes down to who's nearby and how much money do we have to construct roads for this city, etc, etc.
Do trolleybuses as a main transport instead of trams! i feel like trams are overpowered and works too well lol, maybe trolleys are a bit more chalenging and will be nice to see them under your creativenes. Pheraps you can use trams in the downtown area idk
Next year, this is when I will judge if this game will be able to improve or not, so far there's a certain point where you get bored to play it...lack of content is a killer... for this reason I have been playing Workers and Resources Soviet Republic, and because of it I don't feel like going back to Cities Skylines... I'm not that interested like it was few months it got announced and after the release it was enough to make me feel despair and sadness. I don't mind people still wanting to give it a try, trust this company Colossal Order and Paradox Interactive from now on, I hope they will fix themselves and legitimately become better...but my trust for them is very low for now. 🥺
Except for the obvious (assets, performance, bikes). The biggest simplest addition I want is just custom runways & taxiways for airports. And no it doesnt have to be 100% flat "airport area".
Loving the new series. I would suggest the benches opposite the little play area shud be turned to face the park. As I would assume parents wud use them to keep an eye on the kids while they grab a coffee😉😁
"Going down to the Green Gazebo". Dude, which one. there are like 20. Besides, the Red Gazebos are where its at! But the best part is the return of the Palaven Pine! @59:39 Jimmy Hoffa finally make it out from under the concrete? Anyway, Fences are back on the menu, boys! Life is good when the end of node count is a million miles away!
When you were putting the industry on the new zone you were keeping it off the road that ran along. Was that because you wanted the gap or were stopping buildings spawning along the road? You can do that now with the road zoning tool thingy, can't you?
