This video follows my build of Bandai's 1/144 scale Slave One. Here you will see a demonstration of the salt/hairspray weathering technique as well as the alternative method of using AK Interactive's Heavy Chipping Fluid. These techniques were used to achieve the battle damaged, weathered look of the studio model by using reference pictures of the studio model as a guide. The video concludes with a final review of the completed project.
News Flash: Modeler Glenn Fox notes below that he had a bad experience when applying Mig AMMO washes to Bandai kits. I know this has been an issue with the Tamyia panel line solutions but have yet to experience anything negative myself. I used the AMMO solution on the B wing with no incident. Just be aware this may be a problem before deciding on using the Mig AMMO wash. . Hard to say why it happened to Glenn but just thought I'd share this. Thanks

Colors used were Vallejo and Testors
Lower Hull: Vallejos Hull Red, Marron Brown and Flat Red 80/15/5
Faded Red/Brown Lower Hull: Hull Red, Flat White, Ivory 50/30/20
Exposed areas on lower hull: Testors Camo Gray
Fade Red/brown Lower Hull: Hull Red, Flat White, Ivory 50/30/20
Wing Roots, Dark Green Panels: Vallejo's Neutral Gray, Black Green and Testors Euro Green 20/25/25
Main Body Exposed Mid Green: Testors Green Zinc Chromate. Panzer Olive 60/40 then added Testors Hell Blau and Camo gray (small amounts to liking)
Main Body Light Green Color: Vallejo Black Green, Flat White, Testors Euro Dark Green and Flat Gull Gray 40/40/10/10
Light accents seen on main hull: Testors Camo Gray and Gull Gray
Cockpit and tip of outer hull: Vallejo Neutral Gray. Black 70/30
Silver Weathering: Vallejo Silver
