At Paradigm, we design, engineer AND build our own components for ultimate control over the entire speaker manufacturing process. Learn how precision quality tolerances and meticulous focus on details results in better sounding speakers.
I've listened to thousands of speakers over decades of time and you can use all the fancy testing equipment in the world but at the end of the day you will never be able to please everyone's ear! That's the beauty of sound and music. It's interpreted differently by every human on the planet. And I love it!
Proud owner of a pair of the Paradigm Studio V.3 floorstanding speaker. They have amazing detail and encapsulate the entire room with even sound reproduction. I’m so grateful I was able to find a pair of these here in Australia. Love your work Paradigm
I have been using paradigm speakers for over 20 years now I started out with the studios and upgraded to the reference series and let me tell you by far these are the best speakers for the price comparison that I found and the best sound by far that I found..
+Joel Taborsky would really appreciate your input on the following for a home theatre room 22x15 Paradigm CI series speaker system 7 channels 5 CI H65IW in wall speakers and two CIH65C in ceiling speakers with a Paradigm DSP3100 subwoofer Another option albeit at a higher price is upgrade to the Pro series all with 8" drivers P80 IW x 3 for the Fronts P80-R x 2 for Atmos P80 SM for surrounds DSP3200 Subwoofer
Yes Omar I would believe that the Pro Series with the 3200 would be the way to go.. I currently use a 3200 sub right now on my system and I love it it's a beautiful sub..
Of course I'm sure if you're familiar with the P Series you need the right power and the right Dolby Atmos receiver for those speakers to sound optimum..
i have four tower two book shelf and two subs my system is 1/10th the power they use in Imax and i have never heard them crap out...ever. i had micheal jackson song playing so loud the part where the dad pounds on the kids door to yell at him to turn the system down, well a couple neighbours told me they actually answered their doors because they thought somebody was ponding on their door. the sound fills and gives you sound within the space that makes the experience that little more real. they are the only speakers i have ever bought and have ever owned. i bought them when i was a kid in my 20's and at 41 they still sound fabulous and i will never get rid of them for anything else
Love my paradigm sub, my only regret is not buying the servo 15 before it was retired from production; I would buy 2 of them if you did a limited run of them again!
A better marketing campaign is showing us the inside and see the build quality of the cabinets. Explaining the design features that make the speakers sound better, showing us the crossovers with schematic on how you crossed the drivers over. Show us the the drivers in parts and how you're speakers are better eg bigger magnets, higher flux in gap, materials used to make the cone and spiders etc..The only part that is an excellent marketing tactic is the blind listening tests, this is good test for sound quality.
I'm sure they're nice. I'm sure they're nicer than my homebuilt speakers. I'm not sure my listening skill is good enough to tell the difference, to warrant the price difference. Homemade speakers $300. Comparable set (in terms of driver specs and power handling) of bookshelf speakers from Paradigm, $1600. The Paradigm speakers are gorgeous.
They are just assembled in China only cause of labor cost. But all the parts of it are created ,tested ,manufactured at Paragdium , Then That makes them Hi-Fi and then Chi-Fi.
+George Navedo cost will always be the opposing force balancing quality... you can only narrow the gap of technology with R&D. its a snake that eats its own tail... either you get good engineers and designers making a mass selling product (bread and butter of the company) like bose, yamaha, cambridge. or you give your best and all the money in the world, and make top stuff like Wilson audio... nevermind where is made... passion is the key.
YES, YES AND YES. Signature S8 v3's are my dream speaker, so unfortunate that they discontinued them, but fortuitous for me that it'll be cheaper secondhand because of audiophiles turning focus away from them
k mh Yes, and so I hear that the S8 v3’s are actually garb even compared to Studio 100v3’s. I have 100v3’s and am thinking that Sig s8v1 might be a better design without the flaws of Sig s8v2 and v3.
What about Vifa tweeter in the pass and the chiness one in some model, and all those crossover failuire, woofer lead not solder, ...... Paradigm was awesome speaker in the past for a price that no one was able to beat ...... until around 2000 ..... now you have to paid 1000 for a little bookshelf speaker with a 5 inch midbass...... i would like to listen the 95f prestige with all metal speaker :S .... not sure I will found back the amazing sound of the Paradigm 9 SE MKII .... Anyway they will still my speaker of choice .. they still do crazy stuff in they high end serie
Paradigm, absolutely. For just under $4k you can get the Studio 100's (v5) in which I got my v3's for $1200 second-hand in mint condition. The v5 have slight improvements on driver material (really just the mid driver) and cabinet, but they have almost the same exact sonic signature. I gotta say, even if it cost me $3000 for these speakers (secondhand), there really wouldn't be much to complain about. Being myself though, I'm gonna own those Signature S8 v3's one day. There isn't anything I hate about these speakers except for the fact that they really make the music sound the way it was recorded, so bad recordings still have that bad sound.
Is it really a Chinese product?, if so, then I think is overpriced. As for quality concerns, In my experience the manufacturing quality is 10/10. I had the chance to help a friend change a tweeter in a Studio 10 and I was amazed to see the interior: big magnets on both woofer and tweeter, Thick wood, good capacitors on the crossover, thick quality cables inside, great insulation. I would get my hands on a pair of studio 10 or 20 anytime.
It's a real shame Paradigm sent the Monitor series offshore to China. I'm happy to pay a few bucks more to support N.A. manufacturing, and the China move by Paradigm forced me to look elsewhere.
+ratbuddy1 same here man !! never blow a woofer in my life , i have 15 pair of speaker stereo mode theater mode , and my model 9 , i change 3 woofer lol ,my center channel cc-390 had to change the mid and the tweeter , realllllyyyyy bad speaker , tweeter is way more db then the woofer ,crossover is just out of wack .
I have the Monitor 11s7 series, and they are sensational, just because they are manufactured in China means nothing, the process is still overseen by Paradigm themselves...
Here's how to build the best speakers.... Use submarine steel as the cabinet, machine out the cone out of artificially aged aluminum.. Use afvhhjjhffgujnkkjhhhcvh I give up saying shit
+lumrefismanden Most speaker companies do not make their own drivers. They buy them from companies that specialize in drivers. Example Vifa is found in Paradigm, Mirage, Polk and other companies, which have their names put on the driver.
Very few speaker companies make their own drivers. Most are outsourced. Paradigm, Dynaudio, and JM Labs (Focal) are a few examples of companies that make thier own.
Scott Lowell Damn right! mid-fi mass product, terrible tweeter sound. All that testing, and the still sound like shit on top. Bottom and mids are passable, but not quite up there with the higher performance products made by others.
Do you really think a criss-cross pattern is that important when fastening a cast aluminium driver to wood? It's not a straight 6 cylinder head, you know.
An unimpressive video, with just 20 seconds or so of the manufacturing process what showed a typical American factory. No windows and not fully automated, no robots and an environment in which no Northern European or Scandinavian would like to work.
Manufactured in China, no thanks. I live in Norway and we have something better, the legendary brand SEAS, all drivers are made here. Their 13 inch f-wk woofer is 40 years old and still the best I have heard to date. Also used by B&O, Wellex and Tandberg.
