similar story here... i was a "muscle-car-straight-line" guy for decades... until discovering the "art of the apex" now after buying & building a 98 formula firebird for autocrossing, straight line is still fun, but stickin it in a corner, weather it be cone-killing or hittin the switchbacks on the twisty mountian backroads... theres just nothing like it! ...& congratz on ur car man, shes one good lookin girl!
Very very nice. I've had several sports cars & even a black 4th gen firebird & I can appreciate your honesty. My next project is an 85 TA. My last was an 18 shelby gt350 & before that a 17 vette & before that a 16 Roush rs3. I just finished my 18 raptor & 18 HD breakout 114 stage 3 [now a 117ci] & wanna go back to my roots & build a super sweet 3rd gen TA again. Good luck out there & looking forward to seeing more videos.
Ahhh, the luxury of being young and the son of Bruce Hawkins!! I have an 87 GTA that I've owned for over 20yrs, and soon as I find me a an LS and a T-56 and get my money right, Hawks Motor Sports is exactly where my car is going! Already have the UMI suspension and Koni's front and rear, also have the 17×9 GTA wheels they sell on it too. Gonna be one hell of a sleeper!
Hi Tyler, what model was that blower? You did not modify the cowl, would that work with no mods to factory k member? I read in some cases, the k member had to be lowered for these blowers.
Tyler Hawkins just wanted to know what model of blower mp112 or mp122 and how much boost are you running? And do you sell that kit ? if so I'll be getting one really soon. Thanks.
Sweet ride.. I buy a lot of stuff from you guy's at Hawks Motorsports.. Ryan has been good at getting back to me via email or returning my phone calls.. I'm in the process of restoring my 94 trans am. I building a 383 stroker LT1 with a procharger 15 lbs of boost pulley. My 94 trans am is getting prepped for the New complete paint job. I'm still waiting for a driver side side skirt. I'm 10 on the waiting list...
Lmao that short clip of this kid tearing it up on that 2 lane blacktop reminded me of that OLD fbody havoc video. Oh those days. Not gonna lie though, I wish I could turn the jealous shade of green in my eyes into green in my pocket so I could put that into my own build. I’m proud of it but it’s nowhere near the level of that car.
Funny, your 1st engine decided to let go on you. I am sure you didn't give it any encouragement. Just saying I'm 59 seconds into this video and that is one sweet ride.
Cool build. Those back tires are huge, you might need more downforce if your car tend to over steer. You could add an extention on your existing wing or replacement. A duck bill design should workmwell much like Nascars. Bigger tires means more weight is being distributed on it's surface and therefore the tire with not bite the pave as hard in corners. Power to the pave at low speeds yes traction. Cornering at hign speeds, not as much.
