Building Chaos Knights Is Worth The Frustration || Slaves To Darkness Mini Spotlight 

The biggest running joke in GW models is the "easy-build" moniker - they all use the peg-n-pipe registration system that GW calls "push-fit". The major issue is that the fit on the pegs is air tight, so you are creating a pneumatic cylinder every time you put one together, and the pressure from the trapped air will not let you seat the parts properly. The solution, in every single case (and I have put together almost all of the push-fit shadespire stuff), has been to snip of the pegs all the way down at the base. The fit on the digitally sculpted models is so good that you don't need the pegs to register the parts to each other - they will go together like a dream if you do this one simple thing.

I completely agree with you about the chaos knights, they were a pain to assemble, but look great when they're all painted.

You just need to snip a bit off the end of all the pegs to give room for the glue or air

Just picked up Knights at a shop today and had to stop after 2 too lmao! First thing I did was check if anyone else thought this was ridiculous and now here I am typing. They’re so sick looking and I can’t wait to paint them….after I make 3 more…..

Yeah, I had struggles building those Knights. The annoying thing is, I want more. Especially with the new command frame. The Vanguard box looks tempting, just annoyed that the older Chaos Lord on foot was put in there. As for when it comes to Archaon or Be'lakor? I love the colour scheme of Archaon, but there's only one model that gave me the "fuzzies" when it was revealed and that was Be'lakor! I'm still waiting on my Slaves to Darkness box to be made but luckily I have the old Start Collecting set to carry on with until then.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one that hates those knights. Built a set a few weeks ago and almost threw them away, ended up buying the older plastic ones, much better.

Had the same thing happen with the nighthaunt and stormcast heros from the soul wars box set. Huge gap from the push fit. Gonna clip the hell out of the next push fits that I work on.

I just finished the knights in the SC box... (hoping the new ones would be easier just to find out its as you said... THE SAME KIT) FML 😆 🤣 ☠️

hey is it possible to use eternus bits to kitbash the chaos knights? i am playing belakor all the way and i want them and the varanguard have the similar colours like eternus.

The chaos knights are the worst models I've ever assembled. Holy moly, nothing fits together. I might just not assemble them and buy them second hand instead. Was searching the internet to confirm this was not a skill issue on my part, lo and behold, frustration to be found all-around.

these are the worst models i have ever worked with, the absolute worst. I just built one. It came out ok, but it took over an hour and i almost gave up. Not doing another one till tomorrow and only if i feel up to it. I can't believe that they couldn't have done better on these. It's just a guy on a horse. Why make it this difficult?
