Lately I've been watching diasporans building in Ghana, and you were the first person that I watched about 4 years ago as you shared your struggles. Your video was suggested to me and I thought of course...I'm subscribed to her channel...damn algorithm...I'm not able to keep up on your videos. It's been over a year since I watched your videos and super happy for you and proud of you that you've completed your house! What an accomplishment 👏🏿. I hope you're proud of yourself as well 🥳 Thanks for the wealth of information. God willing, I'll be building soon as someone born in the U.S and partially raised in Ghana. One of the resounding advice has been one must supervise/monitor the work. It's not enough to leave up to a trusted person. Thanks again and hope your outdoor kitchen comes out great! Nyame nhyira wo nso 😊
That's how my engineer spoiled my staircase. He claimed he could construct it perfectly, but to my surprise, it was messed up. We end up doing a completely different design because there are certain things you can not repair easily.
Hi my beautiful Sis! You look so very happy and refreshed. I am happy for you. Thanks for the wonderful tips. I look forward to seeing the outside kitchen when it is completed. In the meantime, thank you for making me laugh out loud at your description of its present state, looking like a soldier saluting. 😁😂🤣😂😃😁Enjoy your travels!👸🏾💖🙏🏾✌🏾
It's copy and paste in Ghana, so most builders will think or see you as the odd one if you proposed something different. Unless you stick to your guns like I did.
I drew a floor plan of the building design that I wanted and gave it to an architect. I had lengthy conversations with him, explaining to him exactly what I wanted. He acknowledged that he understood my request. A few weeks later, he asked me to pay upfront, and when I asked to see my plan, he sent me a drawing that I couldn't recognise. When I complained, he started to argue with me. I told him I was at work and I'll call him back. I blocked him straight away. This architect was recommended by a well known builder on RU-vid. None of them are professional.
@@sweetbadd9852 yeah, most of them are. They don't want to do anything they haven't done before. Mostly they tweak an existing design of someone for you 😊
