How's aboat he cuts off the angle iron flush with the last board would that make it look more symmetrical or finished. I've managed to cut my CDO from wiping the water spots off my Chrome kitchen faucets from 14 times a day down to three. I think I'm doing pretty good? See what I did there, I went from an even number down to a odd number. That should drive someone crazy? Trying to drive other people crazy, a habit I developed from being dyslexic along with my CDO.
@@LobsterHunter5 true that, it’s amazing you can use one for every day for years on end and yet few times a day you start fumbling with it like you’ve never seen that tool before. Damn speed squares!
Just amazed at this young man, his work ethic, skillset, professionalism. His father.must be proud. I can only.hope I can raise my son to do as well. I remember a while back Commenting at all the manuer cleaning. Videos show such a variety of what it takes to keep things running.
A idea the joints that meet with no support take a piece of board screw it on the backside of your open joints it might help in the long run . Good video
I drove by yesterday just to say "Hey, I've been there." I didn't stop. I wasn't dressed to help, so I would have been a hindrance. Anyway, I didn't realize how hilly your country is and I didn't realize how crowded your country is. Your videos do a good job of keeping your neighbors out of the shot. Anyway, it was kind of cool to see your home place up close and I got a big kick out of the sign out front. Something to be proud of.
The wall you and your dad did looks great, you top where you need more wood, try the old to see they work as fill in where you run short of, it just though. Keep up the good work.
Hey Eric, Love the way you & your dad work together. What impresses me the most is that you don’t feel the need to curse & use potty mouth language. You’re cool dudes 😎 I have no problem letting my young grandkids watch your channel unsupervised. I agree with the previous comment. Go get a few boards & finish your wall off. You’ll be glad you did. It will look finished. You’ve got a great look’n barn, don’t cheap out on the manure wall. Great job Eric & Dad
Boards look freshly treated, when they dry their going to shrink, put a old board vertically on each of the seams from back side top to bottom that will give strength and stop warping. Love the channel.
What are you boys talking about? First off they took them from the old barn so they are already dried out and second. What's the biggest project you've ever completed? A shelf in High School? lmao YT idiots like you blow most watchers minds SMH
35 years of extensive testing have proven that Crocs are better for your feet them 8-inch laced uppers on steel toed boots where you're sweating all the time. The uppers support the joint and weaken the muscles. So when you're out partying in your shitkickers it's easier to sprain an ankle. Crocs old fart approved!
A super great job on the wall. Burning up drill bits is the worst so I got a drill bit sharpener some years ago (Drill doctor 750 x) which does a great job on re-sharpening bits up to .75 inch diameter - easy to use too. Keep your videos coming Eric - your great and we love seeing how kindly you treat the cows and your equipment too. Hello from Maryland.
All these battery powered tool have to be great when you’re doing work like that. No more dragging power cords around. Just have to make sure you keep them all charged.
Hello Eric, that fence went up fast. Bummer about the heat/humidity out there. Here in Minnesota it's been hot and humid too. We need more rain, things have gotten too dry in most of the state. Love your video's and watching you and your Dad and others come together as you all tend to do. Tom in Minneaapolis.
The amount of manure you guys have warrants a biodigester installed in your farm. My farm has only 200 cows in Africa and the benefits of the digester I have is phenomenal 👌. Ps I like your videos. I havd learnt a lot. Though I do stuff differently eg, my cows graze out in paddock morning to evening. ( No winters...) Milking cows are added some minerals while milking. Continue with the great work.
Pro tip.. Use that speed square as a saw guide, super straight cut with only one tiny mark. I’d screw in a support brace on the back of the overlaps… nice looking pit!
Nice to see you and your dad working together and you have a document it will be nice to look back on it later in life I have video of dad and I working on the deer camp priceless footage
@Rick Hammer Yeah it's important to use new fresh and nice looking lumber when you plan to shove shit against it, eh? Not to mention, as you said, last longer. Yeah there might be 1 board that they don't have to replace 10 years from now where as if they had reused the "older" lumber, they might have to replace "every" board, right? lmao
@@sunstruckfarms4489 well-put and tactfully said. Just like my father-in-law would have put it and he was a great farmer. I don't think a Snicker bars going to do it for lightbulb and I. I think we need an AA meeting?
To strengthen up your corner, you'll be amazed what two deck mates in each board from your over lapping X axis into your dead ended Y axis board will do. A small pre-drill may help any worries of splitting the board.
A little trick when working with this wood. take a scrap piece and cut it in half so you have the groove and a flat side. You can put the groove on the tounge and hammer it in on the flat side.
Eric, you can't fool me. You and your dad are color coordinating your outfits. Your dad Is rockin the crocs! You must discuss it in the pre- production meeting😁. Great vid.
😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣You're the kind of guy that says if 1 nail is more than enough, use 8 screws instead lmao... little do you realize it's just a waste of material and it wouldn't serve any purpose other than it would look like a complete green horn like you build it lmao
@@lightbulb1982 you'd be suprised how hard a skidloader can push against that wall... if the bucket is angled just right and it pushes against a joint, it could push it out, breaking it, but if theyre carefull that shouldnt be a problem
@@michieldewitte5216 Still doesn't make it a load bearing wall and it's like you said; "as long as they're careful"! Did you not hear that he said he was gonna use the shovel against the concrete? Come on people... Stop trying to pretend you know it all!!!
@@raypitts4880 the cats out of the bag now! Here I was going to blame the BHA and the BHT in the plastic that my bacon comes in, for it smelling and tasting like Valvoline.
@@teresakhaddouma5907 there's going to be plenty of urine and urea in the manner they pile up against it. You were referring to a full bladder in the morning correct?
Nice looking wall. Too bad it won't look that good forever. I liked watching the whole barn build. Now I hope you film the demo of the old barn as well. How are the wife and child Eric? Haven't seen them in a video for a long time. You need a video of the entire family sometime.
....once again...fine looking IKEA style(?) dry manure wall....your cows are in for a total change of scenery...eventually...in due time! Thanks for the video and effort!...
Carpenter tip- mark edge of board, and use speed square as fence. Hold speed square in one hand, line up blade to mark, saw in other hand. Saves having to mark a line, and guarantees a perfectly square cut. This tip probably would have saved you guys about two minutes on this job. You’re welcome :) hehe
We get rainproof plywood panels from local concrete factory. They make custom forms from these and then throw away after every tailor made concrete product. Just need to unscrew forms. Sometimes get very large panels.
I'm surprised you don't want him to wear a hard hat hearing protection safety glasses goggles and a face shield? Oh yeah and a respirator. Not a dust mask a freaking respirator!
It's funny to see that you are also working on tearing your old barn down, as we do aswell. Need to haul copious amounts of old grain and manure out tomorrow, probably around 15 to 20 of loads which are as big as the trailers of your custom crew to harvest silage I assume.
The used oil was something my Daddy use to use. He also made a container for dipping the chainsaw's into. Crisco works well also, just dip the bit into the container.
Go get another board or two and finish the wall up. It will look better. But thats just my silly opinion. Its all looking wonderful. I'm so happy for you all.
