Almost went into withdrawals waiting for another video. Watching your old videos is just not the same. Watching you and your Dad work together makes me miss my Dad and working together on our row crop farm in CA. Thanks for taking time to send us your day.
This is one of your best vids yet. Very comprehensive and really shows many aspects of farming. Everything from tractor work to water trough adjustments to hoof trimming to logistics. If you ever need a video to show how multitasking is essential, this is it!
So many people have no idea how hard farmers work. Look at how much was done before the sun came up. I remember my Dad working a full time job, early mornings before the job, afternoons, evenings & weekends working the farm. Farmers are hard working people! Love your vids.
Farmers are hard working people in this country but aren't paid enough for all the chances that they have to take like presale there crops, the amount of hours that they put in daily. Raising there own food for the family. Like Pork, Beef, Chicken and eggs and milking there own cows for milk and cheese. They can't control the weather to have a picture perfect crop. They spend lots of money for machinery to get there crops in on time. And they have to keep there equipment in great shape for harvesting there crops and to get them in on time.
Great video as usual Eric. As I have been about farms my whole life I really appreciate the workload that you and your dad have and the effort that you both put into your very well run farm. I just wish that more non farmers in particular younger school kids were encouraged by the schools to watch content like yours and see what goes into farming and where their food actually comes from rather than thinking its just the superstores! Stay safe and thanks from Scotland.
Everytime I see you dress the cows it's a new experience, getting them ready for milking. All the hard work. Thanks for sharing!! Peace from SW Florida 🤗🤗🤗!!!
Great to see you and your family back in action Eric. No - doubt there is allot of hard work involved in all you do and we can see you really care for your cows (aka 'girls'). Hopefully your new arrangement will help with the timing of the feedings and all. You really need to take advantage of every 'little thing' you can when you work this much and hard. Nice seeing your cousin setting you up too while you were unloading his trailer.🐄
Another great video. The farm is looking awesome as usual. Happy cows for sure. It makes it hard to see tie stall operations after seeing you all in action. Your free stall operations are awesome. Tie stall needs to go away.
I grew up working on dairy farms in upstate NY. This brings back a lot of memories. Now in Missouri with beef cows. Still love the outdoors and working with crops and the animals.
Eric, I'm not sure what you and your dad are doing but the farm looks so much cleaner and more organized than it did in previous videos. Keep up the great work. You have something to be very proud of there.
You guys sure do keep it going, lots of busy days. I like how you have the handling system for your cows. Thanks for sharing this video with us, loved it. Stay safe and have a great weekend.
Hello Eric. As a city boy I find it fascinating to watch your channel and watch what happens on a working dairy farm. Thank you so much for the hard work you and your family does to feed us. I was wondering how long it takes on average for a cow to learn their daily routine?
18:30 the soft "WooHoo" at the perfect bale roll made me laugh . I guess it's the low ceiling and maybe smaller bales, but Eric looks like a giant at 17:49. I know he's tall, but... Thanks for pointing out the Montbéliarde cross calves. They are looking good! It will be interesting to know what their milk production is when they grow up.
Enjoyed the longer video. We raise Angus and I have no desire to milk. However I do enjoy watching and learning the dairy side of things . Thanks 😊 hope you and a great Christmas and a happy new year with your family
Had to stop the video to comment how great the camera angle is while loading manure at 15 min mark! Loved how the bucket raised giving the illusion we were dropping for a second. Great shot indeed! Kudos!
I will gladly send some cold weather your way. It has been -40 wind chills here for the past couple weeks. You are right about 20 degrees being nice though.
Productive day indeed !! You did a little bit of everything!! I love watching the hoof trimming. Love your $ saving strategy Lol 😂 great video thanks 🙋♀️😊
I'm intrested in seeing if the changing of the milking order affected the total milk yield. I think not but it would be intresting if this change in their routine does anything. GREAT VIDS keep up the great work. Always look forward to your videos.
Thats a good view showing the underside of the cattle while milking, good for viewers to have aa better understanding what goes into being a dairy farmer.
Enjoyed the video Eric. I like how you pay attention around the farm & in the barns. You noticed the brush didn’t sound right. Maybe a bushing or bearing going. Early detection often prevents a major issue & saves money. Builds your retirement fund. ha, ha. Take care.
Have you ever looked into getting straw rebales. I work for a company that makes straw blankets we rebale the fine straw. The dairy farmers nearby will purchase our rebales to save on having a chopper come out to chop straw.
Farming is some mighty hard consistent work. You gotta be all trades.💪 Been watching for years. Love the dairy farm! I love milk too! Keeps them bones strong! Just ended our December of over 220" of snowfall. Record breaking month since before 1970! Skiing is prime in the Sierra Nevada mountains! By Lake Tahoe area! Cheers. Happy new year! And keep up the great work!
Just Found your channel Eric, I grew up on a 300 chicken farm in rural Connecticut next to a 500 head dairy farm named Gottier farms unfortunately they and our farm have long since past but your channel brings back memories of my youth the pride you have of what you do is very evident. Thank you for sharing your life.
23:15 "Saved $14, could invest that in mutual funds and retire some day...." Always thinking, you are one special farmer Eric. I had not heard you were adding teh Montbellarde breed to your herd - theyre milk is supposed to be great for cheese making. Hopefully you can add that to your operation, would make a great addition to your lineup of videos.
