Egg as a Arizona native, a resident of the Phoenix metro area and a 30 year employee at Sky Harbor from starting as a security all the way to pilot I was waiting for this episode. Outstanding work capturing the essence of the airport. Well done!
Wow! This was so well planned and executed, so worth all the hours you must have poured in to this, thank you for all that you do. It fits into the space so well and the road networks are original and brilliant, and on top of all that we get beautiful OE detailing! Absolutely top tier Egg, loved this build!
Best cities skylines series ever. Could only ever be beaten by a series collaboration with Few Candy. Imagine a weekly series called “Candy Egg”. That would be one for the history books!
3:28 *Sky Harbor Blvd 3:40 It's a people mover, which is basically where tiny rubber-tired train cars are pulled between stops. They're common at airports, though I don't know if there's a good way to replicate them in the game. 4:18 Airports IRL are huge. Sky Harbor International Airport is probably quite small for an international airport, though it doesn't go above a throughput of 50 million passengers/year.
The BEST airport build on youtube is this one RIGHT HERE. There are many that are good, even great, but this build surpasses them all!! Realistic, detailed, creative, mega in all the very best of ways....this is the airport to watch and learn from. Egg, you make it look so easy and we all know how many hours you poured into this to make a wondeful airport for our beloved Ilos. Thank you for that! It was wonderful to watch the Sky Harbor come to life with all the amazing details only you can think of, and I'm excited for the next stream where we will dive in and add even more wonderfulness to it. Love love love LOVE!!!
Absolutley beautiful. You reminded me of the many training flights in and out of Sky Harbor when i was younger. Including the time I did an emergency landing at Sky Harbor. We left SH on a training flight and were over the northern mountains when the engine started acting up with oil pressure issues. We did an emergency landed at Deer Valley Airport and had a mechanic look at it. We had a leak but not bad enough that we couldn't return to Sky Harbor. We refilled, took off and my trainer requested an emergency landing into Sky Harbor. Boy was that an experience. Hearing the tower redirect flights so we would be next in line. We landed and parked the plane for the mechanics to start their work on repairs. So cool and such an amazing experience. Thanks for recalling those memories.
This sure is the best airport yet on the channel. All of the amazing infrastructure and concourses, along with the typical Ilos detailing is just amazing. And then of course there's the airplanes departing and landing from the many viewpoints. This is truly an incredible airport build.
I haven't seen the end of the video, but I'd have left the monorail raised up so that visitors could sit around the 'lake' and enjoy the view without a monotrail blocking it? In any event, loving this series!
What a brilliant build. It looks fabulous. I'm sure you spent many hours planning and building it, and I truly hope it came out as well as you'd hoped. It far exceeded my expectations. And, admittedly, I have very high expectations for your amazing builds. You have never disappointed. I know there is still so much to come to finish of the Ilos Sky Harbor, and I will be along for the ride like always. I wouldn't dare miss anything. Love it. Best ever for sure.
Amazxing build. I would suggest adding U turn slip ramps on both sides, so people coming from any side of the city/highway can access all terminals. Keep up the great work!!!
i recently found your channel and your ILOS series. i have been watching through the backlog while I watch the new stuff as it comes out. something about your intro gives me chills and you give me a time to relax and feel at peace in times when i haven't been able to. thank you for all of the content you create and will continue to hopefully create for a long time.
Beautiful!! To make the runways pop at night you can use after dark lights and PLT to create the red and white guide lights on the ground at the end of the runways. Pilots use them to locate the runway for night landings.
Where do I even start after that 😂 Absolutely incredible! Huge build, tones of detailing and I love how the monorail sits on the water's edge. This must have taken such a long time to put together, but what a result!! Well done Egg 👏
Love the cyan lights :) cyan has always been my fav color heh; when you were like "I know exactly which color lights to use" at 36min I was like "oooh I hope he chooses cyan!" Very cool. Just a thought... maybe have some type of safety fence/lighting, to prevent the guys in those luggage truck things from driving right over the edge & down into the cut-through tunnels? (Or maybe even just use one of the quays with railings)
OMG!!! This was so elegantly done and I enjoyed every second of the video. Your subscriber count doesn’t reflect your talent when it comes to how all your uploads turn out. With the way you plan and build in CS and make it look so beautiful an realistic you should have 500k+ subscribers! Ladies and gentlemen smash that like button, don’t just watch because he’s one of the best on RU-vid. Thank you Egg for all that you do I’m jealous!
I’ve been looking forward to this since first mention so long ago. Looks incredible the small planes, lake detail, all the taxiways and the accent lights… shewww. Well done 🥵
I may hate living in Phoenix ( lived in Phoenix metro 25+ years with only 1-3 years away here and there)....But their mass transit is "chefs kiss" as well as GRIDDED STREETS ...I miss GRIDDED STREETS!!!!
Great build as always 🙂 only thing I would say is to consider some slip taxiways off the runways about a third of the way down (if CS allows it anyway)....this is used at airports to allow planes to vacate runways faster and for lighter planes to take less of a run up down the runway 😁
So amazing to come back and watch the Sky Harbor go in, against still small Ilos! We've come so very far with this city, and while I wish it would last forever, I know it will end one day. But I'll have the playlist to keep rewatching! Such an amazing airport, so inspirational, so perfect. I still remember when you flipped the one side of the concourse over to the other side and I almost had a heart attack. It was so unexpected and worked SO well! And to think, a year ago you barely knew how to use most of the mods you now teach us how to use every week. Simply incredible!!! Still in love with these beautiful builds each and every week. ❤❤❤❤❤🛫🛫🛫🛫🌊🌊🌊🌊
Very Nice! I've been out of town and I'm just now catching up and I was definitely not disappointed. This is such a beautiful airport. I can't wait until you finish detailing and when it's all finished. Love the different heights with the water, roads, and rail. I wonder if there was a way to turn the water like a turquoise blue how that would look? I bet it's fun just watching the planes land and take off.....Truly one of the best airports I've seen so far on Cities. Well Done!!!
Incredible this, can’t imagine the amount of hours that went in! I was stood at Madrid Airport last week thinking how crazy all the infrastructure is etc and I think you’ve nailed the vibe 👌 I can’t see any dead space but if you do have any I noticed like a billion car rental places outside Madrid, check it out if you’ve got any more energy left for airports 😅
@22:30 The taxi system connected to the bottom left central terminal is going in two directions only allowing planes to keave the terminal but never arrive.
I've seen that many amazing comments that it's making me think if I should really wait to watch it on the big TV when it's 4K processed. Come on RU-vid use the processing pipeline on what really matters!!!!!
I've been so curious if you have a background in art or design because you have so much attention to detail and aestetic. And it not just how you build but as the way you talk about your builds.
I’m a pilot- this airport is badass. Love the realistic scale and exquisite detail! Are there any taller control tower assets on the workshop? The ones in the game are kinda short and I imagine it’d be hard for tower to see clear to the other end of the runway haha
@@OVERCHARGEDEGG definitely the most believable airport build I’ve seen. Love your channel, man. Definitely playing vicariously while I’m away from home and can’t play myself 😅
Can pedestrians walk between the central terminal and the flanking terminals (mostly for access to the monorail and bus stations) or are they only connected by highways?
It's like the American airports are not as fancy but millions of people are using them more than usual. But when you go into East Asia, the airports are real fancy and a little more people are storming the airports. Especially in Japan, the country is constructing an airport island (maybe they already did it) in the Pacific, they are planning to have 40-80 million passengers per year. In Dubai, U.A.E., Al Maktoum International Airport holds over 100 million passengers a year. So in my opinion, I think the Americans have potential, but the Asians have purpose, right? So i had to point that out.
That many assets will be hitting your frame rate bro. Some mods can also bit it. Adaptive prop visibility is one of them. Running compatibility report can help too!
What a great city homeboy! Lol I’m glad I’m up too date now, you and candy got me back into playing this game, keep up the hella work you have a fantastic eye for this game!🥨
