Please, Chris, PLEASE run this by a naval engineer. There’s a reason pontoon and house boats are built the way they are. The last thing you need is another boat sinking, or worse, one loaded with all your friends. This is serious stuff, and the Willamette/Columbia Rivers you want to take this on are deadly. You should also get this certified by the Coast Guard with a vessel number (which I think is required for registration anyway). All of this should done anyway if you actually plan to produce these things for people to buy, which sounds like a liability nightmare.

For advise, I have a double decker premier pontoon. Things I really like: 1- helm in under the hard top 2- seating for guest near the helm . ( I had another pontoon where the seats were a little further, was feeling out of the party sometimes) I would allow clear views of the back of the boat from helm, maybe have stairs on opposite side Have front of the boat lighter, maybe move hot tub back. Everyone seems to hang in the sun , makes waves splash over board . Hard to make toons plane as well. Think about weight distribution, mine is a little offset to one side. More seating on one side makes the boat lean when everyone sits . Just some advice from my few years of having pontoon of all kind Great project!!!

I used to watch because I could learn, and then I got emotionally invested. It is all over the place now, a boat, a lambo, another boat, a camper truck... I want to be emotionally involved and learn. I just cannot even watch because it isn't worth my time, and I have a hard time believing the people around him think it is worth it emotionally. Take that as you may, and continue watching if that is your thing.

It's a very 21st century take on nature: “Yeah this forest is nice, but can I get it with a microwave, barbecue, hot tub, bar, giant tv and a sofa?” That boat will be for “sailing” what those behemoth full-sized-city-bus recreational vehicles are for “camping”. Anyway, I'm here for the process, even if I don't understand the motivation behind it.

If your going to make a few of these then maybe you should make a Jig for the pontoon lengthening process.

There are two big advantages to having out boards. #1: The maintenance is way easier than in I/O or inboard. #2: When you're handling that beast near the dock the ability to look back and see exactly what the angle of your engines is a major help at avoiding a crunch. I would rethink putting your engines under a cover.

Make sure to include a rail on the topside along the edge of the passage for the stairs. Im sure you’re planning on it, but the rendering didn’t have one. Makes me nervous! lol Can’t wait to see this come together.

Give some really good thought to covering your yacht when not in use or storage in the winter. I own a pontoon boat and can tell you without doubt the sun and rain will eat into our investment big time. Plus bare in Mind that pontoon boats become sail boats when the wind is high, Just my 2 cents, I have been a subscriber for years, Best of luck with your build and always more views and subs, Ralph
